Lucas Gondreau I meant as in the advertising and such. I get they wanted to please the fans with the sets, but didn't advertise it well enough for kids. And THAT'S why it failed. Being specifically aimed toward adults rather than kids.

Lucas Gondreau I totally agree with you on that. What really pissed me off with how Lego handled G2 was the dumb "budget restrictions" that all of the sets had. I still don't understand why Lego chose to do that but I personally found that adding a budget restriction to the sets really hindered the creative teams from making the sets authentic. For example take a look a the skull scorpion set back from 2015. Most people could agree that it was a horrible set due to the way it was constructed and one couldn't really tell what the concept of the set was based on it's build. Well that is because, like most people would argue, Lego tried to keep the set in the price range of 15 dollars. However, I feel like the set would have looked and sold better if it didn't have a stupid "budget restriction" that hindered it from turning out to be something cool. For example, how come nowadays I see lots of cool Lego Star Wars sets that have really neat builds to them with virtually little to no flaws in them but cost more than 25 dollars? Because that theme gets all of the attention from Lego and doesn't have any "budget restrictions" on any of its sets, which allows the creative designers who work on the sets to go all willy nilly on the star wars sets with no limits. Meanwhile poor Bionicle G2 sets had to be dumbed down and limited to what the designers could add to them to make them look like decent sets all because of the dumb budget restrictions G2 had.

It would've been a good opportunity to fast-forward the setting of G1 BIONICLE - millennia have passed since Spherus Magna was reformed and peace restored, and the Toa Nuva, the most important Toa team, has continued its service and has even been reconstructed. Now new threats emerge in the form of...the skull guys...I don't know, I really don't care about the villains G2 introduced. Still, it would be a interesting concept.

That wouldn’t have been a good idea, for the children would have been confused to where they had to start and how confusing it would be to continue a story that ended years ago

I’m commenting in this late, but the entire thing always felt very much interfered with by higher ups concerned about monetary issues rather than creativity, much like how I felt with Destiny and Activision being the primary source of many bad decisions purely for monetary reasons

That sucks, man. I don't know why people have to try to force their viewpoints on others. I didn't like a lot of things about G2 but there was plenty of stuff to enjoy about it. I'm glad you got something good out of it!

i never got into hero factory but i would not complain if they restart hero factory. they had decent story and sets and they pioneered and improved a new building system that has become standard. if they take what they learned from the boinicle g2 sets and apply it to a new set of heo factory or even a new series primarily of ccbs.

Honestly it wouldn't have made a difference as LEGO would have decided to cancel it before J21 came out, we don't even know how successful it was.

But CN would have stuck it at like 7:30 AM on Saturdays. They mistreat lots of shows like that, and they already lost Pokemon, of all things...I'm amazed Sega still lets them show Sonic Boom at that time...

Sevrin Hell no CN is horrible in scheduling nowadays, if the show isn't TTG you won't be advertised as much.

Infrared Toa I liked very few aspects of G2 that aren't mentioned on this list but yeah, Umarak was one of the few sets that was good from G2.

We currently don't know if they plan on releasing a new Constraction line or not. If they do, we won't see it until, at least, 2018. Currently all we've got is Star Wars.

The ones with all the different versions of the toa. and possibly other concept art that was released alongside it.

My theory comes from an article a while back saying LEGO tried to cut down on advertising because they couldn't keep up with supply and demand. G2 unfortunately had to deal with this, thus advertising was cut and G2 didn't get much awareness as it should have.

Yet they never forgot about advertising for everything else. I saw several lego commercials; only 1 of them was bionicle.
