Yeah, I was somehow expecting her to be on this list. She pretty much has a tactic for various situations, allowing her to A-Rank missions with not much problem. You don't even need to apply her darkness element + super armor buff. Her kit's just that good. Her movement also feels so smooth to me, being able to move in and out of combos with ease and making Cia an elusive presence on the battlefield.

I agree, but to be fair, isnt cia a bit too oversexualised for a zelda game? I mean, when you have to battle a giant boss/playable character, they have a cutscene, in cia’s, it shows you her boobs

Yeah, Linkle isn't a Mary Sue at all. Lana is the true Sue of HW, Linkle is more of a deconstruction of the Clone Sue trope, and I think it works perfectly for her. In a non ironic way.

@@ClockworkChandelure Lana wouldn't work as a Mary sue either, she would have gotten link and wouldn't have been beaten by ganon when he went to retrieve his triforce, she would have gotten through to Cia before the final battle against her but still have to fight because reasons, and she would NEVER make any mistakes. If you want to argue, I'll agree that her conception is very Mary sue like (Watcher of time that got split from her dark half due to her love of link and that splitting trick during ganon's attack.) but she's not bad Want to see a Mary sue done piss poor? Wesley Crusher from star trek. a Teenage boy, that preforms better than all the engineers on the ship despite them being trained for years and gets promoted to essentially second in command and if you oppose him you are wrong for doing so. sound Mary/Gary sue yet? well, how about having the entire enterprise be somehow by ONLY Wesley MULTIPLE TIMES because the rest of the crew don't know what to do but Wesley finding the obvious solution. The universe bends its own rules to make Wesley look good. when I hear the words Mary sue, I'm always ready to check to see if they really are or not. This wasn't meant for anything else except information and preventing generalization

Just because she doesn't get the boy doesn't mean she isn't one; there is actually an impressive number of Mary Sues who are supposed to fail in one or more things just to be somewhat sympathetic to the reader, look up the Mary Sue page on TvTropes. Not to mention how the "I Just Want My Beloved To Be Happy" is also a frequent trope in MS fanfiction. Lana hogs the spotlight when there are many canon LoZ characters who would deserve it more, is a plain overpowered character story wise (though not gameplay wise, at least), has unexplained ties to the God of the forest (her whole Deku moveset), has basically no personality over being "good", the cutscenes where she's involved are basically neverending angst, in the ending of the WiiU version she becomes once again a guardian of time while being quite literally half a person and let's not forget how her design and behaviour is literally based off japanese idols, for whom being a Mary Sue is basically a job, and how her evil countepart managed to snatch the Triforce of Power. About her evil countepart, Cia doesn't help. Now, not gonna lie: as a villain I actually like Cia. She has an interesting concept, and I think it works quite well, even if she is kinda overpowered. The issue comes when she gets rid of Ganondorf's influence, and she turns good. She. Turns. Good. The only reason I accepted Lana was because, being the incarnation of the original guardian's goodness, it sorta made sense for her to be what is basically the stereotype of a Mary Sue. But then... Cia, who is supposed to be devoid of any kind of goodness in her heart, randomly does a heel face turn the moment Ganny is not there anymore to influence her. Oh, wait, maybe not randomly; Lana turns her good. So yeah. Lana may be a Sympathetic Sue, but a Sue none the less.

You are very naive. From what I remember, around 10 (or less) history maps with dozens of hours of content each, many unlockable characters, costumes, weapons, and heart pieces and skulltulas. The game is teeming with content.

However you're unlikely to not hit any other enemies if the officer is in a crowd anyway. The only character who can utilize the darkness element in crowds is ghirahim. The element is for when you have a character on their own like the "defeat all enemies" maps.

Well besides Master Sword abuse, Fierce Deity's power and some of the top tier characters' abilities, balance is generally pretty good in this game. There's not really any objectively bad characters, but some just take a better understanding of their kit to be utilised effectively.

He synergises well with allies though. Don't discount the impact of quickly removing a larger threat.
