I was born in 1983. I remember when Gambit first said that in 1992. I always thought that was of the greatest lines I've ever and remembered it. I was watching X-Men 97 episode at work. So when Gambit said that line, I erupted.
The end of "Remember It" should've been #1. That is such a powerful scene with Gambit's sacrifice, as well as the X-Men finding out about Genosha, and then Rogue holding Gambit without her gloves.
@@Вармохмейнер perhaps but if you didn’t know it was coming from spoilers and clearly you did, it was a gut punch and one I’ll never forget. Gambit is my favorite character and so excited to have him back. Honestly him being taken out like he was is so powerful, I’m like I’m okay with this because it was amazing. We know he is coming back due to apocalypse and the story is going to be great but if not and as much I am heartbroken to lose him, I’m happy his send off is one of the greatest to ever hit screen followed by Rogue’s reaction.
This list definitely could have used honorable mentions: -Wolverine and nightcrawler going ham on the Prime Sentinels -Jubilee discovering that she could apply her powers for practical reasons like creating razors and skating in Motendo -Bishop being supercharged by Cyclops and destroying the goblins -Roberto coming out as a mutant and the heartwarming response from his mother, only for him to learn that she expects him to be closeted -bastion wiping the floor with the X-Men during their first time counter -Jean getting payback on Mr Sinister by burning his inherited DNA -the sheer amount of cameos in the last episode -Jubilee taking what she learned from Motendo and blasting bastion back -making Ace of Base's Happy Nation relevant again There were too many good moments to count.
@@the_morphean there's just too many great moments lol. Even to the minute choice of words and conversations. You'd have to make several lists to really cover it all
@@eagle_klaw_It's part of the multiverse of the MCU or did you all miss the Watcher in the sky over Genosha. Kevin Fiege is still very much in charge of this show as well. Like it or not, this still came from Disney/Marvel and the MCU.
If I had to pick *one* Cyclops moment, it would probably be from the first episode because it shows off how much the show is going to treat him differently. But the second one is so good it definitely deserves a mention
Storm reclaiming her powers is such a powerful moment, showcasing her resilience and inner strength. It's moments like these that remind us of the incredible journeys these characters go through.
@@WatchMojo Storm had lost her powers, Forge managed to restore them, but she lacked the confidence to manifest them again thanks to the Adversary and her self doubt.
Storm's arc which was given 2-ish episodes happen to be the lowest rated episodes. She's boring and even Lifedeath in the comics was just as boring and irrelevant. It's probably why she got sidelined and almost forgotten on this show. It's also why when the original omega-level mutants were named in the comics, she wasn't included. It took more than a decade later before she was even hinted to be one. She's an afterthought.
Top 5 X-Men 97 moments: 1. The X-Men ending up throughout time 2. Magneto ripping the Adamantium off Wolverine 3. Gambit's Sacrifice 4. Rogue fights the Army 5. The X-Men taking down the Sentinels
Magneto against politicians is one thing. But Green Arrow from JLU would not be impressed. Because he of course is not the one who approves of persecution and murder of supers (especially on such large scale), yet he knows (and would tell you that to your face to some people's fury) that the fear of superpowered individuals is not unfounded (even he is scared of them) and actions against them not without a reason, because how nonpowered individuals like him can stop all supers (or in this case Mutants) if they all suddenly snap first because for example they realize they have means (like just one guy called Magneto whose power could literally destroy the world) to keep everyone in line unlike nonsuperpowered nonmutants?
@@maksymilianziele28 "Kingdom Come" would be a result. If you haven't heard of the storyline, then I'll give you a TL;DR about it: Superman and the other members of the Justice League are pulled from retirement to help against younger, more reckless superhuman beings whose battles only cause more damage
Remember it was definitely the #1 scene... it was a multi episode buildup between gambit and rougue that ended with everyone in tears... the desperation in the fight scenes, the dialogue, the sound/music goes mute when he blows up, rougue saying before that she didnt feel that way for gambit but then realizing (too late) that then she couldnt feel at all... it was an amazing moment overall
I cannot believe how good this show turned out. It was great, loved that Cable got major screentime. Gambit's final stand was probably the best moment. That and Beast's final line, "oh dear"
Great list. The return of Phoenix, Jean vs Sinister, “Give ‘Em the forecast”, Wolverine and Nightcrawler vs the omega sentinels (with PoV teleportation), also come to mind when I think of epic moments from the show. You could honestly do a part 2 easily.
Absolutely! "X-Men '97" is filled with so many iconic moments that it's hard to narrow them down to just one list. From the return of Phoenix to intense battles like Jean vs. Sinister and Wolverine and Nightcrawler vs. the Omega Sentinels, there's no shortage of epic scenes to choose from.
Gambits sacrifice was definitely the number 1 moment, you guys messed up on that. But the moment you missed was the one you showed right after asking did you miss anything, Cyclops using his beam to land after the jet exploded is a top 3 moment from this incredible show.
Yeah, Captain America's appearance in the show was awesome along with confronting Rogue despite how powerful she is. I especially love Spider-Man and Iron Man's cameos in the show. Please let that be a sign.
Feel like this series deserves a top 20. Here's 10 more moments that could've made the cut. - Wolverine getting his adamantium skeleton ripped out. - Jubilee teaming up with her older self (played by the OG voice actress too) - Rogue 'kills' Boulevard Trask in cold blood. - Wolverine & Nightcrawler vs the Prime Sentinels. - Cyclops's Optic Blast landing - Storm's forecast - Rogue and Magneto's dance - Gambit's funeral and Nightcrawler's eulogy. - Madelyn is forced to give up Nathan - The Tri-Sentinal blasts Magneto and Morlocks ("Don't be afraid")
It’s a pity that you didn’t include the scene where Jean Grey tapped into the Phoenix Force again, forced Bastion to shut down the Prime Sentinels, and ripped the stolen mutant DNA out of Mr Sinister! Morph getting the last laugh at Sinister’s expense was the cherry on top!
I love the scene when Goblin Queen uses the mosaic glass to attack Magneto & him frantically trying to stop as much glass as he could. That fight scene with the animation was epic
Jean and Storm's omega level dialogue when they about to fight the sentinels and Bastion was epic! Jean: "Make them mind your weather, sister." Storm: "And them weather your mind."
@@Trueflights according to who/what? What is your source on this? He was shown to have died before 1995 in the 90s Fantastic Four series which Marvel just stated a few weeks ago is canon to X-Men 97. Where was he portrayed as alive and well that year prior to his cameo in this episode?
They set the bar incredibly high with the first season it was a masterpiece in Marvel animation a constant rollercoaster of emotion and nostalgia and sets up an incredible season two
it got to be a sign that a spider-man TAS sequel is coming right? how else would you consider the scene where you actually see Peter Parker and Mary Jane together infront of a TV store
Whoa, X-Men '97??? What the heck is this? How out the loop am I!?! Edit: lol yes thanking you everyone for bashing my head with a sledgehammer for not knowing about this show 😆 nah just kidding haha BUT FIGHT ME NOW CUS THE BEST THE THING ABOUT THIS SHOW IS NOT EVEN ABOUT THE X-MEN....ITS FINALLY SEEING PETER PARKER AND MARY JANE END UP TOGETHER!!! but seriously this means Spider-Man 97 is coming, right?
I think the end of ‘Remember It’ deserves #1-or at the very least, Magneto’s sacrifice deserves its own spot as well. Him saying “Habe keine angst” to Leech, the flashbacks to his youth… I was crying watching that (and then, of course, the Gambit sacrifice right after). Then it depends what sort of ‘best’ we’re talking about, but the straight-from-the-comics end to episode 9 was insane! Talk about fatal attractions.
Magneto's monologue is definitely one of the best moments of this incredible show. "Please, do not make me let you down" Once I saw this scene, I immediately understood they get Magneto. Intimidating, fair, trying his best but scary and firm at the same time. One of my favorite Marvel characters ever and this show gets him completely
Another scene I really liked was when they found Emma Frost alive in Genosha. It was great to see she survived in her diamond form and said, "I've always done well under pressure." Hope she comes back in the next season!
I wasn’t born in the 90s & only watched the first couple of X-Men: TAS episodes before ‘97, yet it now became one of my favorite shows & inspired me to explore more of the C-Men franchise. Though I do feel like Magneto ripping out Wolverine’s adematium should’ve been on this list.
Cyclops' epic landing in episode 1, numerous cameos, nightcrawler and wolverine teaming up in episode 8, storm bringing in the forecast in episode 1, prime sentinels first appearance, Scott and Jean realise that cable is Nathan, the reappearance of the phoenix, nightcrawler comforting rogue, storm losing her powers and magneto becomes the new leader of the x-men. Sorry if my comment is too long 😅
"Oh good, we're skipping the blabber." - Wolverine "Time out suga' you're playing to kill." - Rogue " I've been in a lot of wars bub. The brave always die first!" - Wolverine
He'll be back. The end credits scene was pretty much spelling it out. Apocalypse needs a new horseman of Death and that Queen of Hearts sure wasn't a sign or anything.
How about all of the cameos we saw in the finale. From Iron Man & Captain America to Spider-Man & MJ. I could tell that we would get a Spider-Man 98 sometime soon.
Great list! Glad you put the Cyclops moment from episode 1 on here. This series was fantastic! Can’t wait to see Gambit as the horseman of death in season 2.
Madelyne’s death as Cable tries to save her, with the music and the visuals is #1 for me. Gambit’s sacrifice, and Rogué holding him and saying “Sugar, I cant feel you” is a close 2nd.
Magnetos global emp blast was probably my favorite moment. Almost every single scene involving Magneto was epic though lol Gambits sacrifice was another epic one
Storm destroying the sentinels was more epic than most and I thought it was going to actually be #1 How could you leave out the epicness of "Ancient sands! Heed my command and reclaim these relics of hatred"
