That moment had me squealing like I was a little girl again! Storm has always been my girl and I hated how she never got that acknowledgment aside from comics and video games. They definitely did right by her with that moment!!!
97 is amazing, but I think a few more episodes would help because the pacing is just too fast. Epsiodes 4-6 feel really rushed and out of order. I think the quality would be better with more time to spend with our xmen friends.
do not count him to be a badass for too long, cause he's likely either gonna - stop being the leader of the x-men - be a traitor and/or weakling - die and thus dissapear from the screen - do something unforgivable, do something stupid etc We know it's only a matter of time before storm takes over and shows to be more competent than he is I mean, it's 2024 disney right..
@@PowerRedBullTypology I mean Cyclops gets fully disenchanted in the comics and goes villain so that would follow source material to a degree if it goes that way. However, considering the Exodus dancing in the last episode it is clear that it is not the same timeline/reality considering his history in the original run.
Just Like Winter Soldier Voice and Cyclops Spider Woman in Iron Man to Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Voice of New Jean Grey 2nd time replacing of Catherine Disher she's new role as Val Cooper
@@michaelmccleary337I hated Cyclops back then. Now I respect him. Wolverine and Cyclops are both my favorites although I’m side eyeing Morphs and wolverine’s relationship.
I keep hearing people say that they are happy it is now a long-form narrative. Did you people really watch the original? It was always a long-form narrative. Every season had multi-arc stories, and every episode was built on a previous one.
Yeah, I have been puzzled by this, too. Why do people think every episode began with “Previously on. X-Men”? It was another thing that made TAS different from the other cartoons.
Yeah, I don't know what these people are on about. The og show had plenty of one offs as well as multiple ep stories. In fact, the og show would've covered the Goblin Queen and Nathan Summers tech-virus over multiple episodes which I would've preferred.
Only the first season of the show was serialized. The rest of the show had mostly stand-alone episodes with a few multiparts, like the Phoenix Saga and Dark Phoenix Saga.
@@Bardim18 Yeah. It had more long running threads than a lot of other shows did. Like season 2 having Xavier and Magneto in the Savage Lands for brief scenes throughout the season before the end of the season brought everyone there for the finale. And there were several multi part episodes like the phoenix stuff and sesaon 4 finale centered on Apoclypse. But it was only really FULLY serialized in season 1.
He had a lot of great lines in the original series. "Beast. How many peoples have dreamed of my end? You are no closer than the Babylonians with their swords and fire sticks." "And so it shall come to pass, that all existence will end. Then, I shall begin anew, recreating the universe in my image. A world where I shall remain unchallenged." (I'm pretty sure I missed some dialog since I haven't watched that episode in a long time)
Gambit and Rouge together is just.... too ICONIC for Disney to pass up. The two Southerners (a Georgia-like belle and a thiefish Louisiana Cajun) is just a match made in heaven.
@@troriskThere's very few that do/did. Here's hoping if they're going that route in the series; it ends the same way it had in the comics (Gambit and Magneto getting into a fist fight and Rogue calling it quits with both - only to hook up back up with Gambit down the line).
I'm quite sure it's a foil for their focused episodes. I'm reading the schism arc right now where Rogue and Magneto are a couple, and it seems like the same thing there.
A majority of rogue and Gambit relationship throughout the comics pretty much since they first met has been well they won't they then it turned into on again off again over and over😂 but from what I can tell they are pretty much Marvel's end game no matter what drama they have
@@rayawira the story is repetitive. The most in anime history possibly. The show will be looked down upon in history and there’ll be a small stain on the creator for backing the live action version.
X-Men 97 is the best show out right now! Possibly best in the marvel tv universe. I'm a huge fan of the original XM97 is that on steroids. MCU needs to hurry up and get the X-Men movie rolling
No!!! no more movie’s. Let them work on this master piece 1st so they can have a real template on how to tell the story right on the big screen. All the x-movie sucked the only reason it was any good was because of Wolverine. Everything else did not make sense. They even had 2 chances to get the phenix story right and twice they ruined it. I still can’t believe they killed off Cyclopes on the third movie. So a big fat NOOO on movies until they do it right.
@@IsaacHernandez-dr1th i clearly said let this be the blueprint for the movie you just went on a long ass rant about your opinions that I never asked for
'97 is the most 90s X-Men series ever. Operation Zero Tolerance was _the_ 1997 X-Men comic event and was preceded by the Fatal Attractions and Onslaught arcs which happened in comics at the same time as the original animated series was running.
they made magneto look like he's bitch-made. especially with the extra long gloves going passed his elbows. He looks like a bitch, I want the old and evil magneto back. I wonder how bitch-made they're going to make Sinister look. In my opinion Sinister should not be changed.
Here in Brazil the voice actors are the same from the 90's animation, only a few different, and they're also the same that dubbed the characters in the fox X-Men movies, so for me hearing their same voices again in 97' was amazing.
I think every good fresh critically scored animated Marvel series should get continuations too as much Spider-Man: The Animated Series like: "The Spectacular Spider-Man, Wolverine and The X-Men, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes," #SaveTheYostVerse and of course, the one made by Disney Television Animation Studios which deserves better too [AKA "Big Hero 6: The Series] #BigHero6TheSeries
@@genkigirl4859 THAT wasn't what pissed me off as a kid, the original story (i assume its original and didn't happen in the comics) felicia (black cat) took super soldier serum and became powerful but then fell for morphous lies and fell in love with him, screw him, he screwed himself by stealing peters invention and mutated himself and attack innocent people, spiderman genuinely liked felicia, yet they both don't know each others secrets which was annoying p.s the stan lee cameo at the final episode, it predicted his cameos in real life lol
Silly me for assuming that this list won't be generic and would actually have informative details, such as certain characters preferring the name Erik instead of Magnus or the acknowledgement that his helmet protects him from telepathy.
The first episode pays off with Sunspot being explained the way Kamala Kahn’s bracelet works. An elegant piece of art capable of teleporting someone through time and space. Hence the Nor dimension, Monica in the post credit scene and now with Bishop taking Cable into a future which is 2097’s not 1997. This is the MCUs future. Wolverine still fought in WWII with Cap. I wish my father was alive to see this series
I was thinking the same thing. It almost sounds more digitized and feels overall less powerful... like a shadow or reflection of the original. It would be nice if they could gradually strengten those harder notes and the the overall beat to bring it back up to par with the original, indicating a resurgence of the X-men to their previous popularity levels after Fox drove them into the ground.
@@EricTheDarkRed That's actually not a bad idea. Like how WandaVision had Wanda say "previously, on WandaVision" with less energy each time, the X-Men theme could strengthen those notes each intro (probably more work, but it's a cool concept at least)
Just finished watching the 5th episode on Disney+ .... and have to say is maybe the best Disney+ original animated series so far!!!! The job on 90s aesthetic is phenomenal, you feel a sweet nostalgia of your childhood. At the same time the contect and the dialogues are more mature and deeper. This sequel is made for teenagers/adults rather than kids. Lastly, this intro and the music during the fighting scenes, it just that cannot get enough of it 😁
One thing that has always bothered me about the entire comic and animated X-Men series, was Rouges inability to touch someone without hurting them, was that they had great minds like Forge and Beast and you mean to tell me that none of them had the ability to create a nullifying bracelet or something so she could have had a regular relationship with someone without her having to worry of absorbing their mind/life. The organization Friends Of Humanity had dampening collars for the mutants.
@@rayawira no not the same at all. The gloves only prevent her from being able to absorb through her hands, but the bracelet would allow her to be held and kissed by the someone she loves without worrying about killing them.
Storm's hair and rocker look when she loses her powers is also from the 80's comics. In the last couple of episodes, the X-Men don their uniforms from the 80's. Most of the story arcs are also from the comics and there's a whole lot more for them to feed off of.
@@will_203grn3I see you’ve never read the comics. It’s not my favorite costume design but this is literally what he wore when he lead the X-men and during the trial of magneto storyline.
@@will_203grn3This is the costume he wore when he took over as headmaster of Xavier Institute and during the Trial of Magneto stories in the mid 80s comics after Secret Wars. Comic accurate and a visual signifier for the time in his life when he tried to be a hero with the X-Men.
THIS SERIES REALLY BRUNG BACK MARVEL ANIMATION TO POPULARITY BECAUSE DC COMICS WAS DOMINATING OVER MARVEL IN THE MOVIE AND TV ANIMATION DEPT IN THE PAST 3 TO 4 YEARS.I AM ENJOYING THIS SERIES SO MUCH THAT IM WATCHING THE 90'S SERIES AGAIN
Also, did they call Magneto Erik in the original? I thought it was Magnus and Erik Lensher in the movies. And I don’t think he’s immune to Rogues power, but that he creates a thin electric force field around him to not be hurt by her
The Characters are more stylish than the original, the Voice Acting is Perfect & the Messenging in X-Men 97 is way more on the nose then the 90's Version. Honestly they did an excellent job reviving X-Men.
They kind of did it in the original series, Bishop tried to keep Xavier from being killed and failed. Considering the rolled the entire Madelyne Pryor and Nathan Summers storyline into a 30 minute deal when it spanned a ton of issues in X-Men and X-Factor, I think AoA would be a sneeze and you'll miss it drop. :)
I do like the design of Magneto's new costume as it fits with him being a hero in the series rather than a villain so far with the M on his chest As well as now sporting luscious locks of long white hair
The OG series had 3D style character designs for few episodes but then it became consistent with 2D. Now for X-Men 97 the animation is 2D consistent and widescreen format. The new design of Magneto is based of X-Men comic issue I believe issue number 200. Chris Potter the OG voice of Gambit is voicing Cable. Laurence Bayne who voiced Cable in the OG series voiced the Executioner in the first 2 episodes. Catherine Disher the OG Jean Grey in the animated series is back in the series voicing Valerie Cooper working for the union. Alyson Court will voice a different character Abscissa. Iona Morris voiced Storm originally in season 1 of TAS and returned for the crossover in Spiderman: TAS for Secret Wars. She also voiced Medusa in Fantastic Four: TAS. Cyclops has been given justice in the animated series more than the live action films.
The other change was the music. The main theme for example is the same for the most part but is now more updated and orchestral in nature. The rest of the score from what I've been hearing so far is fantastic. The Newton Brothers did a really a good job with the music in opinion. Their soundtrack for Five Nights at Freddy's was amazing!
So far so good. I wouldnt say its an upgrade, since the Original series had soooo much more to offer. But its definitely a great addition to the Xmen franchise. A bit showy, but great nonetheless. 😅😅
#10 Only wish the end credits had them looking like action figures again. Alway like Morph since the 90’s, his whole body would’ve glowed. #9 Storm’s lightning bolt earrings used to b 2 zig-zags, kind of like the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers logo. But now they’re 1, like Harry Potter. #1 Ep 3 was graphy that it sort of was like had rating M designs from Castlevania for instance.
@@JP-eh4ee Yep. Also I think this is the first appearance of Forge in the "current" timeline, he's always appeared with Bishop in Bishop's future before. But I think next episode has to be the Lifedeath adaptation which should be interesting.
This show is amazing, I'm a fan of Xmen and the animated series. And I'm very happy with this reboot so far! Love that Morph has a place now in the Xmen.
