As a very conservative Christian I usually stick with more literal translations, but I started reading the NLT just in my daily devotions and I admit it is now my favorite to read. I wouldn’t use it for study or teaching but I really enjoy it for my daily reading schedule.

My Bible for the year is the NASB 2020 and I’m loving it. The CSB is still my favorite. I say New American Standard or I’ll spell it out N-A-S-B. I don’t normally say nasby

Same for me on all counts. I like the 2020's changes for clarity, though I sometimes use my 1995 for some readings. But New American Standard or spelling it out sounds way better and less nasally to me than Nasby.

My personal top picks in order are: ESV, NIV, NASB, CSB, NET. The NIV has a special place in my heart. I experienced conversion when I couldn't sleep one day and there happened to be a paperback NIV84 lying around. I picked it up out of curiosity, not knowing that the Holy Spirit was about to change me forever. Following this experience I began to read the Bible for the first time in my life and the NIV made it so much easier to grasp. I can't believe that was 21 years ago.

That’s a great point about the pronunciation. Maybe ask the publishers? I would just spell out the NASB (NAS-by sounds like “nasty” 😂) and NRSVue (although an N-R-S-View sounds funny, too). I’m also with you on a light NKJV update, mainly restoring some of the choices of the KJV, but also updating the textual notes. I’ve also fallen back in love with the KJV over the last year. The ESV, NRSVue (woot!), NET, NLT, and KJV are probably my top five. ✌️🤓📚

I have always called it the N-A-S-B, it was only recently when I discovered Mark Ward's channel that.I found out people say "Nasby." My favorite translation right now is NIV. It's easier to read and for some reason, I find it easier to memorize than the ESV or CSB, and It was my grandmother's primary bible when I was growing up so it makes me think of her. I have always loved the NKJV too. My top 5 translations would be: 1. NIV 2. NKJV 3. NLT 4. NASB (I have always preferred it to the ESV) 5. RSV (basically I like that it keeps some old Elizabethan language when referring to God)

I was surprised that the NRSV was *not* in the top 10 every year because the translation is such a staple in state college and state university New Testament classes. I think you are right regarding its No. 10 spot this year--that people wanted physical copies of the 1989 (I know I did) AND they were curious about the NRSVue. Incidentally, in my head I think-say NASBy, but in person I always say NASB (lol). I've always been shocked and saddened that the NASB doesn't sell better. I'm happy to see the CSB doing so well, surprised that the NKJV is not doing so well (and, as I commented before, the MEV, Modern English Version, is a great inadvertent update to the NKJV--though I don't know what's going on with the production of it recently), and am ecstatic that the NLT is continually gaining ground. I wish the NET (full notes edition) were more popular / sold better. I'm reading through the NET Bible Full Notes edition, Biblical Text and Notes, this year. What a treasure! I've never been a fan of the NIV and I'm still not (though I did like the TNIV--but that's another story for another day). Oddly enough, however, I do like the NIrV (as well as God's Word translation--which has been updated recently--and I recommend both of those translations for young readers and for those who find reading difficult). I did, though, first read through the entire Bible when I got saved in 1995 using the NIV 1984. The ESV is a great translation and Crossway has been brilliant to offer such quality and good-looking and various styles, editions, etc. The ESV Preaching Bible, Black Goatskin Leather, is one of the most beautiful Bibles I've ever seen. That the KJV still sells so well (and is still read and studied by so many) is, as you stated, a testament to its rightful place within our literary library of great English Bibles. I enjoyed this video immensely and can't wait to get your book! God bless.

In the last month i have bought over 8 bibles and I think that I will be buying a premium one once I settle on a translation/format. Keep up the great work. KJV will always be my core, but for readability.... I am waiting on an ESV, and I can't wait to read all of the notes. BTW, say each letter of NASB for the audio book. I always look forward to this list you do every year. ❤ I have always said N-A-S-B and the year published, myself. About the NKJV, here's my 2 cents. Leave well enough alone. There reason being is it sells. Other than the KJV, it's the only TR Bible that sells very well. The only one other TR Bible that I can think of that sells was the MEV (Modern English Version). There are so many forgotten TR Bibles that is so sad to see. Since the NKJV sells so well, I'm hoping that means more souls for Christ. And that should be the ultimate goal for every translation of the Bible in every language.

My own favourite bible is the N-A-S-B 1995. It's what I found in the hotel room last summer, and it's the one that did a way better job at sucking me in than my old NIV Study could from 2007; a church youth group gift from my parents. After trying multiple other translations, it's still the one that best resonates with my how my mind works. Many say it doesn't read smooth, but so far I'm up to Judges 17 and haven't seen anywhere that this has been noticeable. My only wishes are that either zondervan would better (or actually) bolden the verse numbers for new paragraphs, or that other publishers might make an attractive thinline that fits in my carry case.

For many years I said, "N-A-S-B." But then I heard Dr. Mark Ward say, "Naz-bee," and I've been saying it that way ever since.

"Nasby" just sounds downright silly.. N-A-S-B is the way to go.. And I'm so happy that NLT and CSB are slowly going up on the chart. NLT is the best for me. Its english is just better worded then the CSB. That said, my main is NLT and CSB/BSB/ESV are close companions

I say "N.A.S.B.", not "Nazzbee." If I've ever heard anybody say "Nazzbee" I don't remember it. It sounds much less articulate, and it's a reference to such a well-articulated translation!

I am an NKJV user, but I do see it going out of the readers hands. I believe next year I will be switching to something else, but I don't know just yet. I like ESV, but I don't think it's any easier to understand than the NKJV. I used the HCSB growing up as teen so maybe that will be it!

I love my NKJV. ❤️ I don’t really mind that it is #6. It is poetic and easy to memorize. I pronounced NASB as N-A-S-B 😊

I say N A S B. I just recently discovered that people call it the NASBY from watching Mark Ward's videos. The NASB is my favorite translation.

I'd be curious to know how many KJV's sold are in "Super Giant Print". 😂😅
