I just finished “One Hundred Years of Solitude” by Gabriel García Marquez which was amazing. At the moment I’m reading “The Help” and after that I’m going to read “The Book Thief” and “The Fault in our Stars”. I’m sure I will like them.

I can see "All the Light We Cannot See" on the shelf and I would definitely add that too this list. It is beautifully written, very impactful, akin to "The Book Theif" because of the era and young female protagonist but it also shows another aspect of that time. I cannot recommend it enough

I completely agree. I love the symbolic elements throughout the entire story as well. I am a sucker for symbolism. For me, after reading the book thief, it was a refreshing point of view to see World War 2 from. The contrast between the 2 characters was very satisfying to me as well. as someone who's 15 yrs older than you I really appreciated the disclaimer you added at the beginning of the video, it's honest. It would be interesting to know what you have read tho, so that we can understand if you let something out on purpose (you didn't like it) or you just haven't read it yet. My personal top 15 (I couldn't pick ten!) would be: Pride and Prejudice (Austen), If this is a man (Levi), De Profundis (Wilde), The Count of Monte Cristo (Dumas), 1984 (Orwell), A Doll's House (Ibsen), Medea (Euripides), Dialogue between Tristano and a Friend (Leopardi, that's a few pages, it's one among the Small Moral Works), A room of your own (Woolf), One Hundred Years of Solitude (Marquez), Memoirs of Hadrian (Yourcenar), Macbeth (Shakespeare), Iliad (Homer), War and Peace (Dostoevskij) Harry Potter series (Rowling).

Coming from someone with a chronic disease it pissed me off. I absolutely hate that book and am pissed Hazel wasn't the one who died in the end. It's so opposite about what she said how the disease doesn't define the person, that's all she does in the book is bitch about her disease. It's annoying that she didn't die and Gus did because he actually was the one with a healthy mindset about it. ( I apologize if I got the names wrong, I read the book so long ago and hated it and I don't care enough about the book to even google the names) that book is just an insult to people with diseases trying not to let them define them.

Honestly, The Great Gatsby is definitely a book that needs to be read independently. I found it a lot more enjoyable the first two times i read it than when I was being shoved symbolism . The symbolism DOES play a good part in the book, but I liked hearing it after I had a full picture of the story first because a lot goes on, and there are a lot of characters.

This was the first review that made me want to try and read ‘The Fault in Our Stars’. I loved your perspective and it makes it sound like something I’d like to try despite it not being my usual type of book. I love it when someone can do that! Thank you. Hoping I’ll get as much out of it as you did!

In terms of dystopian novels, I think 1984 or Brave New World are better picks than The Hunger Games.

I love Brave New Worlddddd. But the Hunger Games is great in its own regard especially if you read it from a feminist perspective. It really is a great feminist novel once you put on that lens!!!

I read both for school and personally didn't find them all that impactful or engaging. Maybe that was just because I was forced to read them but I found 1984 to be overly long and I don't remember anything about Brave New World.

I love the way you spend time on the recommendations videos. For example, you picked these books on basis of the impact they can have on the reader. I am very glad to see that I have had read a few books from these. 1. Harry Potter Series 2. Hunger Games Trilogy Have been looking forward to read The Help, Fault in Our Stars, to Kill a Mockingbird and The Book Thief.

The Book Thief is so good, a very intense rollercoaster of emotions. I'm so glad I read it. I completely agree on To Kill A Mockingbird - and it's one of my favourite books. And I need to read Fahrenheit 451. And I love the Harry Potter series (I'm re-reading it at the moment)

While you were introducing this video I was looking for the book thief in your book shelf (I've never seen your channel before). When you said it was your all time favorite book I just about lost my cool because, same. I don't even read much if I'm being honest, but I want to which is why I'm here. That book is one of my favorite things though.

I recommend the book "A Little In Love" for all of you. It's about a girl, Eponine who wants to love and be honest, but that time was dark in France. Her parents forced her to steal, and a friend Cosette was treated as a maid. Her dad killed a bishop, and they ran for weeks. Cosettes mother requested Jean Valjean to take her daughter away. And, that's a tiny, small preview. You definitely have to read the book. There is so much more to it, and I'm so glad that I purchased it from the book fair!

I read To Kill a Mockingbird in mid-2016 and although it wasn't my favorite book, it did impact me and is one of my favorite classics. I'm planning on reading The Book Thief this year, and I know it'll become one of my new favorite books. I also love how you just held your Harry Potter pop figure when talking about the Harry Potter series (and I have the same figure!)
