Canvas sneakers? They are fashion forward. No one should be wearing that.. they look feminine and I hate when guys wear them instead of dress shoes on TV these days
I used to have a pair of Brooks which were the best shoes I have a time but I got rid of them. I do agree with the dressed up lace boot.. Sometimes with a flannel shirt I dress it up a darker pair of jeans. The Chocobo is OK I think but I do not think it shouldn’t be worn with suits. The Chelsea boot is that versatile. Dressed up dress down heck if you get a black one like I have from Paul Evans if you shine them right you can wear them with black tie
Flip Flops way cooler Than those Nothing New sneakers. Ask some females if they think a grown man should be wearing those things or flip flops. At least you can wear the flops at the beach. If you are more than 12, leave those sneaks where they belong, which would be on the feet of a coffee barista who lives with his mom and spends his spare time watching Japanese cartoons. There have got to be some people out there who agree with me. Really, those sneakers are about as stylish as prison issue slippers and equally as masculine.
I'm right there with you buddy. I swear my jaw practically dropped onto the keyboard! I say this because I live in a small college town and I see flip flops and the socks with sandals pretty much everyday. Then I also see the socks with sandals, shorts and even T-shirts during the Winter. I kid you not! During the Winter! Can you say "Walking Pneumonia" anyone? Thanks again for a great video.
Brogues Forever! My first brogues were actually a brown second hand pair that I was was given from a cousin of mine. He swore they would look good with my casual pants and even occasionally jeans. He was right. I ended up wearing them on and off until they were actually stolen when I was in the service. Go figure. But even after all these years, they are definite a main stay of mine. Another great video. Thanks again!
Always enjoy your commentary. However, personal likes and dislikes are a struggle for me on your choices. Thanks again for making me rethink what’s available.
Thanh Lai hell yea!! If you’re a sneaker head you get it. Plus I’ve never heard one person who’s worn yeezys say they aren’t the most comfortable shoe ever!! It’s like walking on pillows!! Just keep them for the gym 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
Great video. Looking for weathered boots presently. Just wanna' know who thought Flip Flops with Jeans and additionally a collared shirt looked good. That to me has to be the worst look ever!! NO ONE wants to look at a guys nasty feet and when I see them with (darker jeans even worse) jeans?? Ugh...!
@@howardgoldstein8290 Collect? lol. I'm practical. I build around functionality. And there are plenty of warm weather boots that even Antonio recommends. Btw, too many dots. It's hard to take you seriously. Just my two cents
A really nice list, and inspiration for the autumn season. I would like recommendations for quality socks. Ones that both look nice and keep you comfortable even if you are standing for several hours like you mentioned in the video. And keep you warm of course.
Hi Anthony, Whenever many shoe reviews come up the classic wingtip particularly the oxblood and black have been worn with navy blue and grey suits in business situations for decades and ar perfectly acceptable. Yes I know that some of the other colors make it a more casual shoe but not oxblood or black. This is just my opinion and I am quite a bit older than you, but I just need to remind the younger guys. In fact in Scotland, where the shoe oringinated, this shoe is actually a formal wear staple. Thank you for the great videos. keep up the good work. Blessings, John B. Sacramento, CA
I just picked up my very first dress boots last week! Is Frye good? I got the Frye Paul Oxford dress boot in slate leather. I really like these and want to wear it every day.
Joseph No I don’t have those. They look good though. The ones I was looking at are the Oxford Brogues that have a running shoe sole. I’d wear those, just not with a dress suit. I think I could pull it off with chinos and a sport jacket.
A sneaker that I love as a younger guy in my early/mid 20s is the Vans Authentic. They are a casual sneaker that has unique Oxford lacing style that can be dressed up/down very well depending on the design/material you choose.
Mark Lugo you’re absolutely right man, I’ve got an all white pair that’s lasted me 3 years. Love rocking em with chinos and a nice patterned button down
I agree, although I'd also add moccasins to this list. They are the very definition of stylishly cool and casual par excellence, especially for those living in year round hot/tropical climates where boots aren't ideal. And flip flops do serve a purpose, eg. poolside/beach.
I recently got a pair of Nike white leather Cortez with the red swoosh stripe. I had a pair like that back when I was in high school. A little bit of nostalgia for me. They look great with jeans and a polo.
@@RHagans agree...have worn no show socks for the past several months in the hot NY weather.with all my summer shoes & light colored slip on sneakers........
Clarks wallabee boots 😉 I got a nice dark blue pair of copies from Amazon by a company called Find , there were half the price of clarks because the price of the clarks ones has really gone up over the past year or so.
I used to watch other style youtube channels. These days, I only mainly watch your videos. You produce and upload videos that match the sort of style that I try to achieve for my age.
Wow. For once I actually own half of your recommendations. I’ve been in boots, lacers and ropers all of my adult life. As for combat boots, for comfort, many have side zippers for really easy on and off. I prefer Smith & Wesson’s, or Original SWAT as two outside companies that made good durable and comfortable boots. Black and Coyote for me. When is that Texas heritage going to allow you to recommend some Ropers? Perfect round toe boot that can certainly be dressed up. Anyway, good job as usual, thanks for making me feel fashionable for once!
Antonio, I am looking to purchase my first double monk strap and I would like your advice on something. Since this is my first pair, should I get them in brown or in black?
Diego Guzman I think what he means is it is insane how commanding boots are they elevate someones status it’s insane I have two pairs of thursdays best boots ever and not over priced with top quality. I notice how people change and treat me if I have some sneakers on it’s hilarious lol
Definitely need number one this fall! I'm always in need for stylish, water ressistant boots. If I wear my leather Chelsea boots rain will damage them, so this is a perfect fit for me.
Shoepassion a German company sells Goodyear welted boots built for winter in the $400+ range. Timberland sells a variety of waterproof shoes from oxfords, Chelseas, chukkas, workboots, fieldboots, etc. The Timberlands soles are more rugged looking, less sleek, glued soles, but more readily available for purchase.
@@justcaused6182 The Timberland water-proof shoes are from $125 to $350. The Timberlands Squall Canyon Waterproof Chelsea is $160 in black, and olive leather. Cole Haan has water-proof shoes from $180 to $300. Last year the water-proof Wagner Grand Chelsea Boot at $300 was on Christmas sale for $200. The color choices are black, java nubuck (dark brown), mesquite leather (light brown), and midnight grey nubuck. They were sold out of the java nubuck when I tried to order them last Christmas. The Kennedy Grand Chelsea Boot normally $320 are currently on sale for $199.95 in black and dogwood nubuck (light brown). The Cole Haan Chelsea sole is sleek in profile unlike the rugged-looking soles of the Timberland Chelsea.
Good video. I've been thinking about my personal style more know as I'm in my mid 30's. I've never cared much about about sneakers. Boots just make sense to me. Been wearing chukkas alot. Going to try the Thursdays
I recently bought two pairs of boots for the upcoming fall and winter. I got Thursday boots Captain in Black and Danner bull run lux, looking forward to putting them on my feet.
Just got some [rockport eurekas] in brown i couldnt find a dress shoe in my width (10'5 3/4e) im a descendant of the yokut tribe of native americans in central california so i have flat and wide feet you should check them out
Can you make video about tall guys? how to choose clothes correctly? shoes are the easiest part, but how to match, and not look like a sausege or skinny. thanks
I wear brogues down here in Miami. What would you recommend for this climate. We do not have a fall, just hot and hotter... Also can you talk about hot weather clothing for place like Miami. Anyway love the video
