Yay for Charles Dickens! We definitely have our favorites every year for Christmas, and A Christmas Carol in several different formats is always part of it.
Good video 🙂. I have a shelf in my library reserved for Christmas books. The only one of these I own is A Christmas Carol. Most of mine are the equivalent of a Hallmark movie in print, meaning they are light pleasant reads, but not particularly memorable. Have a good weekend!
@@throughthepages_with_dee yes he is Dee. I just can’t watch anyone else in the role lol. Edward Woodward is brilliant as the Ghost of Christmas Present too. He’s another favorite actor of mine. I grew up watching him on the Equalizer.
@@BookishChas oh my word! The theme tune to equalizer was everything and YES he is the best as the ghost of Christmas present. That booming Shakespearean voice comes in to play massively. Correct on all counts Chas 😂
Just trying to get ahead 😂 By the way the book you recommended The Once and Future Witches I love it I’m amazed you were able to recommend something so much to my taste so thank you 🙏🏼
Hi Dee. I had just written you this whole long comment, and suddenly, the screen shifted and your video disappeared. When I pulled it back up, my comment was gone! I, too, love all things Christmas, and Dickens' A Christmas Carol is a favorite too. I even have a Dickens Village--houses, shops, characters--for under my tree. Family members have been giving me additions to the village as gifts for years! I recently bought a book through a used book store called THE BIG BOOK OF CHRISTMAS MYSTERIES. It's part of the Otto Penzler "Big Book" series. It says on the cover, "The Most Complete Collection of Yuletide Whodunits Ever Assembled." You might like this one too. 🎅🤶🦌🎄
Hey Pat, I wonder what happened there then with your comment? I’m going to look that book up Pat thank you. The Dickens village sounds so cute I have this maybe weird thing where I love miniatures! Anything like villages or tiny versions of real things I adore them. I always imagine a Christmas in the Victorian era, the simplicity but the meaning of it to those that didn’t have much and the sounds and smells, I’d love once just to experience it.
@@throughthepages_with_dee funny story about the village. One day, I came downstairs early in the morning, and almost every one of the villagers had fallen over into the fake snow. I could only conclude that there had been too much revelry in the village the night before! 😂
