A inicios de los 70’ Chile con Allende tuvo un gran gasto militar, y luego a finales de dicha década también por el inminente conflicto con Argentina, lo que no se ve es el gasto militar argentino en ese momento, que definitivamente si lo efectuó, pero al ser la economía argentina en ese momento bastante robusta el porcentaje no fue significativo en relación al tamaño de su economía, a diferencia de Chile que gastó bastante mas en relación a su PBI, por lo que se concluye que dicho gasto fue un esfuerzo enorme y tal vez comprometió gasto social y presupuesto en educación y salud. Al igual en ese momento también hubo in posible conflicto militar con Perú y también se vió el mismo sacrificio EEUU no figuró mucho en la tabla pues su economía es de mayor escala a su gasto militar.
