Don't think so. All these dances evolved on their own, in their respective countries and cultures with none of the various cultures influencing each other. In the beginning at least. If you'd been watching more attentively you probably would've noticed that most of these dance moves are similar. Blame that on TV and internet. But make no mistake of claiming sole originality of those moves. They're really copies, albeit morphed, of one another.

There is a lot of truth in what you said, but few (established) African musicians try to imitate Americans; the copying and sometimes plagiarism is the other way around: Manu Dibango and Tala Andre Marie are some of the oldest and best known musicians who got plagiarized (Soul Makossa/Michael Jackson and Hot Koki/James Brown).

My sister, first you are wrong by saying Congo plays the best music in the whole world. When it comes to music and entertainment the whole world knows Nigeria is no. 1 in Africa. I've been reading some shit comments about Nigerians knowing nothing about dance. Yes we know nothing about dance but we have two female dancers from Nigeria whose names are in the world Guinness book of record. We don't know how to dance, but when dancing competitions are being organised in Africa, our Nigerian dancers always come out among the top dancers. My dear sister ozoma, stop living in the past. The Congolese used to dominate the African music industry, but now things have changed. Our major problem in Africa is that we like dwelling in the past. Africans are very good at wallowing and drowning in past glory. My Africa people; I was once a very wealthy man is just some shit statement. No-one really cares what you once were, or what you once own. What the world cares about is what you have to offer in the present and not what you could have offered in the past. The bottom line is this; Nigeria is now toping African entertainment as a whole. When it comes to entertainment, Nigeria is currently setting the pace for other African nations to follow.

In SA we have different dance moves, we have the likes of pantsula, Qhom and piano. Pantsula is very difficult
