@@ChodeMaster To call any of those countries with the exception of Ireland, Christian countries is laughable. Some of those same countries have among the highest rates of atheism. Plus, they're extremely secular.
Conchita Mendez Well, probably you should exclude Canada for its size. As for methodology, I assume he used average because median data are much harder to acquire.
@@thesportsguy3088 Lower standard of living also imply higher level of poverty. In developed countries, inability to buy quality phones would be classified as poor while in developing poor struggle and work hard daily for food
GDP Per-capita gives much more insight about the country's wealth than the country's total GDP. In the previous GDP video,Indians were bashing about the 'being next superpower' statements while not even being able to make into even top 100 list of GDP per-capita. Individual wealth should be prioritized.
anshuman jha well Iam indian but we all know ground realities.indians keep on bashing about India’s greatness but still we are miles ahead.chinese never say they are stronger
@@victorm6430 Ireland has better eduacation and health systems than the UK. Irish people also have a much better standard of living than the UK..... Can we be proud of that ???
I think germany is impessive to, because it was completely destroyed and very poor after WW2, but it managed to climb up again, so it has a relative high GPD now. And it has also very much people living there (compared to size)
@@f-rosti952 well it was the usa which provided germany strong economic support to rebuild itself and it was america which protected it from soviet aggression.
Keep posting these videos. Though only a very few people find interest in these videos, dont give up. I am a kind of person who loves your theme. Love from kerala, india
@@MayankSharmaAC- yes..way more..but I guess...if we can grow at this rate or faster. Both India and China can catch up japan in gdp per capita in next 30 to 35 years time..not before that. Patience. India's gdp per capita grew by 8.7% this year btw.
WawamuStats try making a video that shows 10-15 most populated cities historically, present and also predictions for 2100. That would be so interesting!
Congrats to Japan and USA, they manage to stay top ten for a long time even though they’ve a population of more than a hundred million people. I wish Brazil will reach top 10 one day
We Japanese have been able to get some EU products like cheese and sausage more reasonable because of tax average decreased. Since the first February. I'll buy them a lot.
@@John-fk5qq Maybe being part of the EU or the European free trade area has something to do with it, if tax havens worked, there should be a few Caribbean islands taking a spot in the top 10, including maybe the Isle of Man and the channel islands, or maybe Iceland and Ireland know something the others do not. Either way, for a country like Ireland, who 30 years ago said, thank god for Albania, otherwise, Ireland would be at the bottom of every European ranking, and now ranked as the fifth richest country in the world per population is some achievement.
@@John-fk5qq Tax Haven equates to hiding money essentially, when a national government sets a low corporate tax rate for foreign direct investment is a completely different matter. Ireland had a long term goal in this instance, now whether companies or individuals pay the full amount owed to the state is another matter, or they could risk a healthy fine or jail. Each country can set its own tax regulations to benefit it's citizens, tax Haven seems to be used as an excuse by some to theorize why a country like Ireland is the fifth richest country in the world. 12 per cent tax rate had alot to do with Ireland's ranking, so long as all companies pay the full amount.
@@maggotgrave8793 Japan have a Higher GDP than a country with not even 2 times it's population is not impossible, allthough it's hard, cause this country is USA
USA is really amazing Most countries in this list are small countries that have small population But America is one of the largest country in the world and one of the world's most populous country Truly amazing
ap oea yea everyone in America live luxuriously in big houses and apartments, drive the best car, and eat plenty. However, they are like corporate slaves working 9-5 in office jobs, 5 days a week for their entire duration of adulthood. It’s bit depressing but they get some serious cash overall.
Being the economic hegemon also helps USA a lot, so it's also a cheat and it makes it easier for USA to have a high gdp per capita. The countries for which it's harder are those moderately big.
@@shrinivaskarekarnitsurat6837 That's true. You always have to consider multiple points of view because one might be misleading. People love big numbers but don't see the meaning behind them. Like for example how China is so rich because the population is so poor. If they would provide properly for their citizens they wouldn't have all this money to spend. So they are basically trading the well being of their citizens against large concrete structures in the middle of nowhere because they are still very insecure about America and Europe and like to show how good they are doing.
Can you do - 1. Most technologically advanced countries in the world ranking (1950s/ 1960s -present) 2. Top 10/ 20 Countries with most powerful military in the world (1900-present) 3. Top 10/ 20 most visited country in the world (1960s-present) Thanks!
+tvee You can't quantify "technology" so that video would be impossible. Same thing with military strength. The 3rd suggestion is possible to do though
Haters don’t want to recognize the greatness of the US. It’s the 3rd most populated country in the world (328 million) but still in the top 10 in gdp per capita. It’s even higher than Japans, which has about 130 million people. If you use the literal definition, then The US is the greatest country in the world. In this case, greatest means most powerful, most dominant, and strongest military. The reason people get offended by that and call it “Propaganda” is because they confuse “greatest country in the world” with “best country in the world to live in”. Because we’re talking about the country itself, not what life inside of it is like. Still, US life isn’t bad. People only think it’s bad because the US is so connected to the world and people hear so many bad things that happen here, and it’s misleading. In other words, the media exaggerates it. We’re in the top 20 in just about every category that you can list countries in (if 1st is “best”). Also, US was able to succeed so well, not because of “killing people”, but because of the geography. Relocating and killing natives was only part of manifest destiny, and I think people forget that most of the US was BOUGHT from England, France, and Mexico, not stolen. (Yeah, we didn’t give Mexico a choice but to sell it to us, but not really the point here).
It's sad seeing my country New Zealand go from 2nd place to falling right off the chart. At least we just came through for the honorable mention in 19th place.
I'm an Aussie, but I'll happily admit I love NZ and would rather live there than here.

money means nothing if only 1% of the population have it, and thats what happened with countries like monaco, kuwait or qatar, even USA, if you compare the average american vs average german, you'll see that the average american has lower statistics than the german despite gdp, thats because germany has more equality, and that stands true for new zealand too.
USA is just impressive! Despite having a large population of 350 million, it still manages to have a per capita income of 60000 USD and grab a spot in the top 10. A true superpower...I'm thankful that i'm born in this country!
@ There's no real benefit to EU lol. Norway still has to pay a large amount to the stupid eu budget and we have to adobt most of their regulations that don't really benfit us without having a say in it. If we don't accept we are not allowed to trade with them.
@@tomchch same for Switzerland. We are such small countries. If we don't adapt to what's surrounding us we'll go to hell. Plus we don't have any natural resources so we kinda have to follow the lead
I feel like the independent cities kinda ruin it. Edit: ruin is kinda a strong word, but just seeing urban areas having a higher average income isn’t very informative
Hey guys don't forget about the immense wealth gap of the U.S. (possibly the largest in the western world) and how most billionaires live in the U.S. Yeah the gdp per capita may be high but most likely because of an equality imbalance and how the extremely wealthy are raising the standards.
Heh. Relative to the rest of the world Finland's hayday was in late 80s when we sold stuff to the west and to Soviets. Then the 90s depression hit hard. On the other hand many things in Finland are now better than 30 years ago... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_1990s_depression_in_Finland
Great video! China's GDP per capita is around 9000 dollars in 2017. We Chinese are poor. China is a developing country while USA,UK,France,Germany,Italy,Spain,Canada,Australia,Japan are developed countries. We hope to be as rich as Western Powers in 2050.
At the present rate of GDP growth and considering an idealised state of zero population growth in the upcoming years India will have highest GDP per Capita in the year 2768
:D in 2768 if we are not all extinct and if there have not been nuclear winters, humans will be distributed on many star systems within a few tens of light years
New Zealand's GDP might not high as the GDP of Canada Germany USA and Australia but the reality is they are rich and very prosperous......they are really rich
Im korean and not the biggest fan of japan, but i have to admit that they were trully representing whole asia in 80s-90s. although now they are failing over and over again, they deserve applause just for their performance in these days;)
True they had the highest quality of life in the 50s but I think today Americas GDP per capita is inflated due to the high amount of billionaires in the country. There are 10 people in the U.S. that are worth 1 trillion dollars
So I guess summarise North-Western Europe pretty consistent through good times and bad. But a tech, oil or mineral booms only get you so far for so long. I wish Australia was doing whatever the hell Luxenburgh was doing 😆
I extremely despise the politics and its human aspects of Brunei, just sayin'... A no huge let down to that country via the majority of the world's people, living abroad, especially in term of human rights... Geez, it is extremely bad.. Lol.. 😒😒🙂👍💎
I think Luxembourg would remain way up top. I saw a stat that said something costing $1 in the US would cost $0.99 in Lux, while it would cost like $1.7 in Switzerland.
Your GDP is growing quickly but so is your population. India’s huge population it’s is biggest weakness. It has too many people to feed and care for so it just can’t manage
2 cowboys are riding, John and Jim, on the prairies, see a cow cake. - John, bet $100 that I'll eat it? - We argue! Jim gets off his horse, eats, and gets the money. They go further. And there is another bug. - Jim, and bet that I'll eat too? - OK! John completes the task and gets back the same hundredth. Looks at her and says: - Jim, I have a feeling that we just ate "flat cakes" just like that? But not just like that, they raised the US GDP by as much as 200 bucks!
