[Spoilers] Main difference: In the comic, only a few panels show only a handful of people dead from Invincible vs Omniman. In the series, we saw a few thousand humans have their life spans shortened by a man trying to teach his boy how short lives humans have by taking away their lives.

The fact that Amber knew Mark was invincible but still gave him such a hard time and argued with Mark when he had to disappear to save lives is probably the dumbest change. It would make so much more sense if she didn't know he was invincible but when he told her she decided that she couldn't be with him because he can't prioritise her.

What I like about the reveal of Omi-man betrayal and others finding out about it was how they made it into an example of Hitchcock’s bomb analogy. The more and more the other characters know the truth we are on edge with what Omi-man will do. Honestly it was the right decision,

Regarding #7: No, what makes people dislike Amber is that she berates and shames Mark on their College Campus visit for running away, just to say less than 2 day later that she has known for WEEKS that he is a superhero, which means that Amber KNEW that it was him that just saved them all on the campus, yet she still basically gaslighted him! There is absolutely no good reason for her to do that! And then she has the gall to immediately go back to him after his fight with his father with the words "looks like we both got lied to", daring to equate the betrayal that his father did to him, his mother and the whole damn world to mark trying to protect his secret identity by not telling her after only 6 or so month of dating that he is Invincible! She basically has become the abuser in a toxic relationship and that's why people hate her in the show. Even worse, the show dares to pretend like SHE is in the right, when that is absolutely not the case at all!

Spoiler alert but they really messed up Amber in the show in my opinion. She’s a minor character in the comics who re appeared just once after Mark broke up with her. And her actions made sense. In the show they made her way too important (although understandable, they got Zazie Beetz to voice her) and when Mark eventually breaks up with her, she will be remembered as a disliked character, unless they give her powers or something to keep her around. Also I loved the fact that in comic Debbie started to be a realtor after Nolan left, which shows growth despite living through hell. But she’s already a realtor in the show meaning she’s already a successful woman.

In the comic all Amber is was a way to keep (spoilers after this for later comics and seasons) Atom Eve and Mark separated. She is a none character and just a plot device. At least in the show she had more depth to her character even if they botch it

A small detail that stood out (to me) is that Atom Eve in the comic has an atom mixed with a female symbol. On the show, it's just an X on the female symbol. So her symbol on the show makes little sense.

This is probably one of the only shows I can say that the subtle changes they did that pander to the current society not only did not ruin the show call it but made it more interesting.. I'm also glad I did not read the comics. Because I probably would've outright dismissed this show knowing what the source material is and the character changes they did. Either way the show is amazing and I look forward to it continuing

Agreed but i would like to point out most of the changes weren't done to pander in today's society just to provide different storytelling. Sure the racebending and gender swapping was done as well but I don't think it had a significant impact on the story while changes like showing a bit more from the Immortals and actually showing them to be a threat to Omni Man or the Flaxans being used to provide Invincible and the Teen Team with an early rival or the audience being manipulated alongside Invincible from Titan are just good aspects of storytelling

The TV SHOW did a Good Job by improving the 1st few chapters of the comics, Phasing (The phasing in the comics is all over the place), Character Development (They give Minor Characters like Daemon Darkblood, Titan, Debbie and Amber more character), and World Building..

Invincible is an awesome show. In fact there have been quite a few excellent non mainstream Marvel and DC superhero shows that have come out the past few years, like Invincible, The Bad Boys, and most recently Jupiter's Legacy. Which reminds me of a live action version of Invincible.

The concept of the Flaxans is *terrifying* to me (especially now that I'm reading the comics) imagine you get sucked into a portal for what your friends and family was about a month, but for you it was a decade there was a similar moment in the first God Of War reboot game where Kratos gets sucked into a thingie and is gone for what felt like a couple moments, but Atreus yells at him that he was missing for years. That sort of existential time disparity stuff gives me the heeby jeebies

Such a huge fan of both the comics and the series. I went nuts when it was first announced and almost died from excitement when I found out Steven Yuen was cast as Mark. I told everyone I knew that the story is much more brutal than what it seems like on the surface with its pitch black humor. Such a deep, moving story with topics that’ll just make you question your own existence.
