Great discussion - enjoyed that. I think you covered most that would be in my top ten as well - White Album, Quadrophenia, London Calling, Exile, Blonde on Blonde, Songs in the Key of Life, All Things Must Pass. Sid mentioned Disintegration by the Cure, but I also liked their album before that, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, which was also a double. And I'd probably have Being There by Wilco in my list - it's an album I can listen to over and over. I'm not a Floyd fan so it wouldn't be in my list, but I'm surprised nobody had The Wall in their top ten. There's a few that you had in your lists that I need to go away and have a listen to. But even more grateful that you've introduced some great music I didn't really know about. So many valuable takeaways, too. I'm sure I'll come back to listen again.

Top selections. Can't argue with Songs from the Key of Life, The Beatles, Physical Grafitti, Quadrophenia, London Calling, English Settlement. Would like to put forward 'Blinking Lights and Other Revelations' which I rate a Eels Masterpiece.

gentlemen it is not such a mystery Gabial transforms himself into a Puterican delinquent just out of juvie hall. Rael takes a LSD tab before boarding the subway home. I lived in New York and found the album so evocative of the city. A true odyssey of self deicovery. I love, Anyway...and if Banks was unhappy it did not show, The Lamia is my favorite Tony's best work.. Quadrophenia is brilliant. love all of side two, Missing Topographic Oceans. Along with Peter Gabrial, Jon Anderson of Yes is one of the most recognizable voices in music, The Album , much maligned, is of late, realized to be a truly sympnonic in structure, masterwork.

I hate songs in the key of life. I suffered it so much as a child in the 70's to the extent I physically can't listen to Stevie wonder in any shape or form. I know he's a talented songwriter and if you said he was one of the most important artists of the last 60 years, i wouldn't disagree, but literally everything he's ever done irritates the hell out of me. even covers of Stevie wonder songs make me irrationally angry and its all down to that evil double album from the depths of hell.
