I have never understood the negativity around Invisible Touch on these Genesis album rankings shows and seeing it always ranked so low and sometimes even as low as bottom or second bottom. I must be hearing something different because I think it’s a fantastic album. So many good songs on it. It was practically the soundtrack to my youth so I always find myself defending it. 4-5 from me. Good discussion guys
@@mr.tibs1334 Yes Knebworth 78, I remember my family dropping my brother off to this show in the car. He was too young to drive himself there and I was too young to attend the show.
Great video and discussion. One of my favorite bands. My rankings can change but I'll go with: 1. Foxtrot 2. Selling England 3. Trick of the Tail 4. Nursery Cryme 5. Lamb 6. Wind and Wuthering 7. Duke 8. Trespass 9. And Then There Three 10. Genesis 11. Invisible Touch 12. We Can't Dance 13. Abacab 14. Debut 15. Calling All Stations
Great show! Your rankings are fabulous. Just a quick top 5: 1. Selling England By The Pound 2. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway 3. Nursery Cryme 4. Trick Of The Tail 5. Foxtrot Most people would rank Foxtrot higher than Nursery Cryme, but I just think Nursery Cryme has better melodies overall.
Great list . I put FGTR at the bottom with 1.5 stars. It would get less but it has an interest especially as they were lads. Poor production ,unneeded strings , just a practice for them and not Genesis proper! All other Genesis albums are great . Number 14. Like you Abacab but 3 stars. Two classics with Dodo/Lurker and Abacab. I just can't see how anyone could prefer FGTR. Me and Sarah Jane very good and pleasant ditties on side 2 . I like oddball stuff so Whodunnit is ok with me. I still find NRAA unlistenable though. 13. CAS 3* 12.IT. 3.5* 11.WCD 3.5* 10. Trespass 4* 9.Genesis. 4.* 8.ATTWT. 4.5* 7. N.C. 4.5* 6.Duke. 5* 5. Foxtrot. ( All the just beyod brilliance) 4 SEBTP 3. I don't do numericals (unless at gunpoint), but I can give you my list and sort it into 5 personal categories *LOVE* 1) Selling England By the Pound 2) A Trick of the Tail 3) Genesis (Self Titled) 4) Foxtrot *LIKE* 5) Duke 6) Wind & Wuthering 7) Invisible Touch 8) The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (Like The Wall, first half amazing, second half very inconsistent) 9) Nursery Cryme (Same as Lamb tbh) 10) Trespass 11) ABACAB *INDIFFERENT* 12) And Then There Were Three 13) We Can't Dance *DISLIKE* 14) Station to Station 15) From Genesis to Revelation *EXTREMELY DISLIKE* N/A
Very good lists and I suspected many would choose 'Selling England' as no1 - why not? It's great. I hope you enjoyed the show and thanks for sharing your lists. Could you please subscribe if you haven't already. Thanks.
It’s good that they don’t pick From Genesis From Revelation as their last one. Abacab is about right. That second track on there with the brass sounds like the worst Phil Collins track…. which it is all bar the name. Awful! I think FGTR should be above Calling All Stations, Invisible Touch, We Can’t Dance, and of course Abacab - All dross compared to the earlier ones.
