I smoked from 14 to 42, and add pot to that mix from age 19 to 42. As a former grower I smoked a ton of pot as it was always available. Cancer is an IF, but COPD is a 'when', because if you're a smoker for more than 10-15 years, you will have some level of COPD..maybe even in less time. At 55 I smoke nothing but still imbibe a few beers and gummies. I'm not running any marathons if that says something to you. Alcohol is a major cause of inflammation which will definitely impede your lung function as I feel it the next day from even a single beer, and chronic inflammation is one of the major indicators for cancer of many types. I work a physical job and I feel exactly how my lungs are working every second of every day when I need to exert myself. Carrying on a conversation while I'm working isn't quite, but could be a non-starter. I need 30 seconds to catch my breath if I'm going to talk to you and complete a sentence after I work a bit. Than again, I'm not 20. Don't smoke, and don't play games with your health, as it most certainly will come around to remind you as to why you should not have. It's literally the difference between 65 and 85. I feel I got lucky as I am still capable of anything, but it's catching up with me. At 20 you may tell yourself and those around you that "I want to die young and bla, bla, bla".............. When you get to age 50 you will start singing a different tune.
You motivated me too try and quit smoking weed and I grow it too . I been smoking since 13 now 20 and haven’t had a single break . It’s time I quit for my own lungs .
I have had two different lung cancer since 2019. And my only symptom was extreme tiredness. The second cancer occurred after deep sadness happened when I lost a friend. Once again now I'm cancer-free at this moment.
I had blood work that came back with irregularities in January. The cancer Dr has run more tests and they came back the same. I see my Dr again tomorrow. My I ask, what treatment did you get?

When the count goes up, one more point, my insurance will then pay for a bone marrow biopsy. 😕 I also do have a lung disease. They did a CT scan with contrast. The cancer Dr. Is setting up an appointment with a pulmonary dr. for me.
I have Stage 4 lung cancer...multiple tumors in my lungs, multiple tumors inmy liver and brain...a small lump close to my liver started growing at a rapid rate...I had a liver biopsy to shoe where the primary source of the cancer is.. The results showed my lungs.. I was diagnosed 10 weeks ago... I have NOT experienced any one of warning signs you described, as a matter of fact I don't cough, no pain, no night sweets ect..I doubt I would have known about my lungs if it wasn't for my liver...😮

What were your symptoms? A female family member of mine is 79, always been in good health, never smoked, hasn't had a drink since her 30s, exercises and eats healthily. A few days ago, she coughed up blood and mucus and went to emergency room. She had no fatigue or pain anywhere. Her chest scan came back normal, they gave her some antibiotics and said it is hemoptysis caused by bronchitis. But they said if it continues after the antibiotics are taken, to see a lung doctor. So I was just wondering if you've experienced any of this or just your symptoms in general. Thanks!!!
Most of these symptoms also correlate with Pulmonary Fibrosis. While coughing up blood is not a direct result of fibrosis, a chronic couch can result in blood streaks in mucus (if you have a productive cough). Weight loss is usually a symptom of advanced disease, but many do not get a diagnosis until that point. Pulmonary Fibrosis is a terminal disease with no cure. But early diagnosis can help prolong quality of life. There are therapies to slow progress, and they seem to be more effective with early intervention. Please do not ignore any of these symptoms. And do not hesitate to ask for referral to a good pulmonologist if you do not currently have one. Your primary care physician may be excellent, but PF is a rare disease, and doctors are trained to think “horses” rather than “zebra” when they “hear hoofbeats”. I know. I was misdiagnosed with various other lung diseases for years when I actually had Ideopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

I hv smoked fags since 1988,... that's 36 yrs,..2024 check,...blood work ok,...no infection,.. breathing clear,...no issue whatsoever still smoking ~15 sticks per day n my doctor never told me to quit,...there must be a viral trigger to all these cancers causing havoc in so many peoples lives.... eeiish....!!??
My Dad had the cough..I remember him coughing in the morning. He went to see a Dr. and died three months later. He smoked winstons something he took up in the service. He died at 44. I think of him probably every day.

I only had a pain in my side after I tripped and fell onto my left sided rib. It persisted for about 2 weeks when I decided to see my doctor. I had no other symptoms! My doctor send me for an xray.I then had a CT scan ,bloods taken ,biopsies and a PET scan all within 4 weeks ! It was then I had SCLC, Metastases in the bone,still had no symptoms !!! Today 2 years after diagnosis.I still have no symptoms. Could it be I am just fortunate and because I refuse to let it bother me? I might have Cancer but Cancer doesn't have me!!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dear wife of 33 years to lung cancer last year. She had smoked all her life. Oh dear - my heart REALLY goes out to you - I uniquely know your pain. I just lost my only sibling - little sis. Just 43 yrs old and passed to lung cancer on 11 Feb. Her son just turned 12 :( 7 members of my paternal family side have now died to it. Going for a CT scan next week and I'm terrified.
Some symptoms are similar to pleurisy and gall bladder problems. Even a CT scan showing 'non cancerous infection' was reversed by a second CT scan a few weeks later, showing 'more concern'. No coughing but pain in right chest,right shoulder and back.

My mom passed away from lung cancer very quickly after not feeling well for about a month. I have had weird things happen in the last year. I'm a smoker using the patch to quit. In the meantime I've had reoccurring chest infections about 5 in the last year. Extremely thick mucus even without an infection so thick sometimes I can actually pull it out(sorry but it happens and it scares me) after a drink of even water this can happen. Extremely bad back pain that never goes away as well in my hips and my neck and back creak and pop so much! Sometimes I have to hold something to turn because those spots need help turning as they won't pip. Night sweats alot! I'm 64 and have been healthy all my life. Went through menopause at 50 everything normal there then at around 60 the night sweats came back and my head sweats during the day too. Doesn't matter if it's cold or hot my forehead just pours water. Stiffness all day everyday. Some strange one's...constant eye infections. Sticky and green or yellow pus in the morning. I have several drop and ointments on file at the pharmacy that's how often I get them in my left eye only. I had a few pimples growing up,no big deal but now...I have no idea what's going on now but it seems to be about every 3 months or so I get this tiny little whitehead looking tiny bumps that you can't squeeze if you do they become incredibly itchy or they burn and they seem to spread! Then they can take a month to heal as they can wake me up because in my sleep I'm scratching them they're so itchy. Was just on my face now I e noticed them on my arms,legs,and my back. I've tried everything for them from tea tree oil to even dabbing them with watered down bleach! My skin just peels and the middle part remains itchy. I've tried every antibiotic known to man,creams,even old wives tales they just won't go. And lastly my hair has become dull and recently started falling out and I don't mean that I've just noticed more in my brush.. I mean when I'm washing my hair (and brushing too) it's coming out alot morethan 1 or 2 hairs, I mean probably more like 30-100 it really can come out in clumps. My hair was very thick. I could wrap a coated elastic around 3 times now I wrap it 5-6 times! This one scares me too as I've been tested for autoimmune issues and nothing shows up. You might be wondering why I haven't gotten a diagnosis,it's because I haven't told my Dr about everything mainly because I'm terrified it's something real bad. I know it's stupid and selfish of me but I finally got my kids all grown up with the last one graduating college last Fall so I think mom's might understand that one more than dad's...I don't know maybe I'm wrong and just using that as an excuse. You know there's so much going on with me that it could also just be I'm noticing this kinda stuff more just because I have more me time and I am getting older and stuff happens you know? Then of course I don't want ti become a hypochondriac either OMG ! I totally understand I had lung resection surgery I'm still in pain all the time now I have to get to CAT scans every 3 months cuz there's nodules still there so basically I feel it's just going to turn into cancer like a nodule did I have no peace so unhappy so scared it's like torture please as soon as you get something checked out the better off youwill be, it might give you more time if anyting and who doesn't want more time go and take care of yourself it's wrong to ignore things please don't
So sorry to hear about the loss of your mum it's so heartbreaking 💔 but you need to go and get yourself checked out, your mum would definitely want to to do this, my mum says a stitch in time saves 9, that means get it sorted out now before it gets worse, you have your family to think about too, I'm going through alot with upper back pain, congestion, getting hot flushes at night time, just want for a Xray and Mri just waiting for results now good luck 💐
Me too. It’s part of getting older girl and you’re going to be just fine. It’s important for us moms to keep our minds busy with lots of things reading, music, walking, yard or gardening and meditation. It is way too easy to get overwhelmed with all the feels of being apart of a family that has the propensity for genetic challenges. I refuse to let the young passing away of my mother and brother be my plight. 👍🏼☺️
Ya such as most products sold in America, asbestos which was used a lot and even so in last 20 years still able to use it to an extent. Formaldehyde which is in consumer products, I think no one really talks about these risks and that's sad that non smokers don't realize other risks.
Cough meds with guifenisin won’t affect gerd, and gerd OTC meds won’t show any improvement in coughing- if it’s lung inflammation or something respiratory. There’s your homework.

Moringa grows as a weed here in FL and few people even know how good it is.
I did have the MRI and they still found nothing. I have shortness of breath, cough, wheezing, and fatigue. They gave me a nebulizer and said recheck in 6 months. I buried my mom and my sister from lung cancer.
Okay, let's see if I get an answer. I constantly have to clear my throat of mucus, you know, doing that horrible sounding noise to spit it up. In the mucus I clear from my throat there is usually one single strand of hair, small and it looks like nasal, ear hair or an eye lash or eye brow. I have seen a doctor, had scans of the lungs and sinus (apparently I did have a lung infection some time back. I now have some scarring but all's good). I'm healthy, there's no problems. I cough sometimes. So where is the hair coming from. I have quite a collection.
@@sunnygee5521 It's hair, small hair, eye lashes, eye brow hair, nasal hair, different types like it's accumulated over many years and is now being discarded. I don't have pets. It's always just one piece in the spit, I think twice there was two bits.
I was just told in the past 6 weeks that I have a mass on my lung. A second scan done 3 weeks ago showed that it had grown. Doctors don't seem to take this seriously because I have not yet even gotten an appoinment for a biopsy.
Im a avid cannabis smoker and I have chest pains (front and back) my shoulder on my left side is starting to hurt and the pain is going up to my ear now I had this for the past 2 months at first I kept excusing it, thinking I slept crooked or went swimming. I have a 5-mm lung nodule that is being monitored. I developed hoarseness but workup by an ENT specialist attributed it to my essential tremor. I had no idea it could affect my voice but he showed me the video he took with a scope through my nose down to my vocal cords. I also had a period of weeks where I lost my appetite and was losing weight (which I needed to do anyway). However, my appetite and extra pounds have since returned. My head and neck sweat a lot, especially at night, and I experience low-grade fevers. I'm also chronically fatigued. All these symptoms can be attributed to my autoimmune disease, psoriatic arthritis (PsA). The nodule was discovered incidentally when my pulmonologist ordered a high-definition CT scan for nocturnal low oxygenation, requiring oxygen, and not related to my sleep apnea. Bronchiolitis obliterans was found, probably from either my inflammatory PsA or the biologic I had been taking for it. My next scan will be in May. 🙏

My mom died 26 years ago from L.C. she was a smoker but the doctor said her cancer wasnt from smoking they originally thought she had tuberculosis. She lived about year and half. Rip moma

I know it’s frightening to consult a doctor but it’s very important. It may be nothing, but if it is something it may be treatable. Not to frighten you but my late mother (non-smoker) did not follow up with her pulmonologist after a small spot was discovered in her lung. Two years later she passed and it was cancer. I believe she’d still be alive today if she’d have followed up when recommended. Think of your child(ren). God bless you.
Stress is not easy to get over especially as a modern human in our fast paced world , humans didnt always have all these disease like this , especially in western society we live horrible and are glutton and lazy mostly and always invention of ways to make life "easy"

It would be a good idea to speak to a doctor. If it's nothing, it'll be a relief to find that out. If there is a problem, it's definitely better to catch it early.

that last one scary coz my lungs been wheezing, like my upper tube part. Then sometimes the mucus i cough is clear and sometimes it's green. Man its been going on for nearly more than 5 months, scary scary stuff. Even checked with the doctors and they said it was clear under xray but hey, misdiagnosis is possible.

I used to be really scared and although I am healthy at this time my dad died of lung cancer in 2013, I spoke to a real psychic medium as I wasn't sure about after death if there is anything and was extremely sad. Don't be scared, everyone has to pass that point one day or another.. Meanwhile, I've had a lot of anxiety about my health like you do and it could also simply be from the fact that you could be an hypochondriac like I am. Anxiety can bring up unexplained pains that get worse the more you stress. If you're young, don't stress about it man it could most likely be anxiety... Otherwise, if its a constant pain that you can't associate with stress, you could get checked out. Been there done that, anxiety can cause more problems than anything else.. Lower your stress sources and see if it gets better.
