@ dw Actually Elvis did not like to be called "King of Rock n Roll".... He rebuked and embarresed a whole row of female fans who made a huge "banner" referring Elvis as KING. He saw banner/stopped the concert of "Gospel Music set" they were performing/established there' s "only 1 KING & that being Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior". These ladies lowered their banner & sat back down quite embarrassed. The show then continued. This true story was told by J.D. Sumner, (part of backup singing Gospel group for Elvis), as told to his daughter. Who later shared this in an interview.
@@brianduffy7823 Amen. No one has his voice. He had perfect pitch, and could sing literally ANYTHING, and it sounded amazing! Even his “Memphis Mafia” buddies have said that Elvis could sing through a phone book, and it’d sound great! I believe that is the TRUTH! Look at how many Gold, Platinum,and countless awards he’s received over his life, even after death! It continues on.., God gave us Elvis, and he’s still here in his spirit! 🙏🏻♥️
I’m 13, watched the ELVIS film for my birthday , and I’m absolutely OBSESSED with him, searched everything about him, listened to all his songs, I practically know his blood type at this point!😂 suspicions minds will always be my number one. Never had a favorite song or favorite singer until I payed more attention to Elvis, known about him since I was young, just never gave any attention until a few weeks ago.. rest in peace Elvis❤️

I watched the 68 Comeback Special and when he sang If I Can Dream my mom. sister and I had tears in our eyes. We knew this was history in the making. I was 15 yrs old. My mom passed her love for Elvis on to me. Loved him all my life.

Quite simply the greatest performer of all time. There will never be another natural talent or voice like the voice of this man. A legend in his time. We were just so blessed to have him and his music in our lives…what a privilege we had.

Elvis refused to perform if his manager wouldn't let him play this song. His manager, Colonel Tom Parker, didn't like the song and argued with Elvis hat I would not be in live show. For once, Elvis stood up to him and said he would not do the show. Tells you how much Elvis loved both Martin Luther King and all he stood for.
A good man, Flawed as we all are. Love him, Miss him, A gift from God, Reverent, Sang from his heart & soul. Never will be forgotten. I was 22 when he passes and I cried for days! Loved him like family. Just couldnt Believe he was gone and still can hardly believe it.
Its quite simple Elvis was and will always be the greatest talent our world has ever seen, The sad thing is that he had to leave us so soon. He left behind a legacy to which no other could ever compare, that man had it all. He never became conceded as many stars do he was a down to earth, decent, loving, beautiful human being, with talent like no other. Well, technically I'm one of those kids, because I was only 6 years old when Elvis passed. I can remember it being a big deal, but didn't know why at the time. Now, being in my early 50's, I can assure you I appreciate Elvis. Truly a one of a kind and a different time. I'm not sure the "kids" of today can appreciate Elvis the way us older folks have, but his performances speak for themselves. Gone way before his time.

my grandpa has been a huge elvis fan his entire life, so naturally, that love passed down to me. i’ve grown up around his music; hearing all of his songs & watching clips of his performances, movies etc. as i’ve gotten older, i’ve learned to appreciate elvis’ music & the impact he’s had on the music industry as a whole. i’ll forever have a special place in my heart for mr. presley :)

I can’t tell you how moving that was to watch. I have been researching Elvis for many days now. From the new movie to all the old clips I can find. I remember how dearly my mother loved him. She seen him several times in Vegas as I’m a navy brat. Raised in California. We used to dance in the kitchen to him. So to hear him again just brings all that rushing back Thank you so much for the wonderful memories I have of her and sharing yours with me❤❤❤❤❤❤What a great soul his is!
Without a doubt Elvis still reaches the young and old. His showmanship throughout his career charmed a world and gave birth to rock and roll. His love of hymns and Christian music was a tribute to his mother, who didn't mind he did the rock and roll thing as long as he didn't forget the church or it's music!

When he died in 1977, I was quite young then and am already enjoying my professional. I cried in one of my night slumbers like somebody who just lost his beloved blood kin. His movie "BLUE HAWAII" made me his fan when I was in my early elementary school days. My fave LP ALBUM of him is his LIVE APPEARANCE at MADISON SQUARE GgARDEN. For all the amazing things Elvis was and did (and there are many), I just have to point out how well-dressed he was. Always. So very different than what we see in pop culture today! He was sauve, had style, panache ... we need to bring that back! A man in a suit, a man that takes care of how he presents himself ... nothing is more attractive than that! (Ok, maybe not 'nothing' but it sure goes a long way!!) There's a place for jeans and a t-shirt (and that can be great, too), but ... how Elvis dressed ... *swoon!! That's another thing that makes him timeless! That will always be *chef's kiss! (There is much more to rave about, but this is something that isn't often noted.)
Funny you say that because I started buying clothes in reminiscent to his because I truly want to bring that back. So classy and elegant. Like you said way better than what we see in this modern times. Oh and I look the part as well 😉

Another sad thing, watching the latest Elvis movie, I found out that Heartbreak Hotel was his first major hit. He was 21. And then he died when he was 42. That is 20 years in the spotlight. Wow such a short time to live and give his fans his greatest.

I was turning 8 when he passed away 😢 I loved all his songs during 50's themed dance s in the 80's..he truly had such beautiful gift/talent. A lot of people took advantage of him. I think he is gaining more fans/followers & Never will be forgotten..& he changed History. Got my girls to like & listen..Especially when Lilo & Stich came out.😁😄😘😘

Besides his brilliant voice, perfect appearace he was a golden hearted person who called people in the USA to donate for unfortunate Hungary whose revolution was destroyed and people had no food. Awesome choice of songs. But my #1 of Elvis is: How Great Thou Art live in June 1977. This was 8 weeks before he died. It was just him and Jesus on the stage right there. His thunderous voice nearly took the roof off that building! Fantastic vocals. ⚡👍🎸✊🇿🇦

@@pushbikeman Hi George. Glad you liked it. Elvis was a Christian at heart and loved the Lord. He was actually a gospel singer who sang rock 'n roll and country songs. His priority was always gospel. He wanted to be in a gospel quartet when he was young, and was rejected. He was told his voice was not good enough! Can you imagine that? There's a video on YT at a concert where Elvis asks JD and the Stamps to sing "Sweet, Sweet Spirit". Elvis just stands and listens to them. You can see how touched he is by God's Spirit right there. He was a very special man with a unique voice. He will always be remembered. ⚡
