I know what you mean bro dad liked the fact I liked them. Of course the classics were funny and when I had a bad day they made me laugh and feel better
I woke up one day as a kid my dad was watching the 1954 film i sat and watched it with him been a fan since still have some of my old figures from the 90's
@@megarayquaza9054 He did look gross, and that's one of the reasons why I think his design is so genius. His every detail is so awesome but so horrifying at the same time. He's a revolting monstrosity that shouldn't be alive. They made Godzilla into a walking nuclear holocaust again, and that's why I love it.
@@megarayquaza9054 Wich is sort of the point, the scales on Godzilla 54 was moddeled after raddiation burns on hiroshima survivors Shin just took that concept to the next level
Lord-of-All Zalama dragon king It’s classic though, it started this entire thing. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t match the CGI, it’s gonna be the best Godzilla scene.
Tyson Hyatt no the thing is I like it and I respect it for what it is although it’s not as exciting as let’s say shin godzilla running through everything causing mayhem everywhere or legendary goji towering above buildings and causing tidal waves as he walks
Toho? Criterion? Kraken Releasing? Sony? Warner? Universal? Whatever you all need to do to make a deal, PLEASE give us the entire Godzilla series in one big badass Bluray set!!
In fact, it satisfactorily fulfills the premise of giant monsters that create chaos and destruction in their wake; the impact that that destruction produced is almost comparable to the attack of King Kong in NY.
If it didn't have a connection to Toho, or the Godzilla branding, more people would like it for the fun popcorn movie it is. I saw it in the theater 7 times.
I see it as less of a Godzilla movie and more of a remake of Ray Harryhausen's 1953 classic, The Beast from 20 000 Fathoms. Comparing the two side-by-side, the similarities are almost uncanny. It's like someone was trying to do a remake of the Harryhausen movie and they just slapped the Godzilla name on it for marketing value. It's still fun to watch from time to time, especially if you just want to turn off your brain and watch something with friends.
9:51 Breaks my heart every time. There are several tragic little vignettes like this throughout the original Godzilla and each one of them is gut-punch.
ilovepork and chicken No that's sorta obvious I thought about that a lot its probably not going to but if it does it's going to be disappointing well for me at least
The thing is, I get why hardcore fans seem to hate the 1998 Godzilla. On it's own though, and taken for what it is, it's actually a fun, entertaining, popcorn movie.
coolnegative I agree. And actually, the hate toward 1998 and Zilla *has* lessened some. Nowadays, Zilla's mostly regarded as another stand-alone monster amongst Toho's whole Kaiju roster, and the film itself as another chapter in Godzilla's long, continuing history.
No love for Shin Godzilla? The metamorphosis from its larval stage? The terrifying first atomic breath? The back plate lasers? The haunting final tail shot? Nothing?
Most impressive godzilla moment? Godzilla VS king ghidorah. In a last ditch effort, ghidorah strangles godzilla to where he starts foaming from the mouth. But godzilla powers up, and blasts ghidorahs middle head off. Amazing!
The 1954 original, a classic masterpiece. The 1998 film still gets shit on and mocked to death to this day still. The 1998 film is one of my all-time favorites and one of the most underrated. I'll defend that film forever.
It’s the grandfather of the CGI kaiju films, taking the best of what made Jurassic Park a visual masterpiece and bringing it up to Toho kaiju dimensions.
Toho didn't even *try* to hide its distaste for Zilla, like damn, that shade is next level loll xD Great list! Although, I wouldn't necessarily say "No sequence in the franchise captures [the lingering scars of WWII] better than Godzilla's first attack on Tokyo in the original film".. I thought Shin Godzilla managed to do this pretty well too, especially as it came so soon after the devastating tsumanis.. It really felt like it echoed the original even more because of this..
It's been over 25 years since I first saw Godzilla vs Megalon and that slide is still danged funny. Jet Jaguar was my screen name in my first internet fandom back on Prodigy because that was my favorite MST3K episode.
Where's Godzilla 1985. I swear when Godzilla shows up for the first time in that movie at the power plant or station Godzilla picks up a part of it and smokes it like a bong, no joke.....
WHAT?? No Godzilla dance?! I thought that was going to be #1 lol. I've never seen the flying Godzilla in the Honorable Mentions lol. That was freaking HILARIOUS. Glad to see the flying dropkick made it though.
In my opinion, the number 1 epic Godzila moment is that scene in Godzilla Final Wars 2004 where Godzilla is released from the ice in Antarctica, he gets a roar close up into his firey angry eyes, then a far shot of him roaring with the lighting strikes all around him. It gives me goosebumps, lmfao.
Sorry. I meant how Shin’s breath weapon had three stages. Fallout, Fire, and then the white hot Ray. How on Earth did that not make the list, or for that matter, Final Wars Goji’s planet buster breath weapon?
For all its vintage blockbusting scenes and compelling eeriness ,no frigging way the 1954 original chapter of the franchise can top that list over such classics as the Godzillla vse Hedora , vs Mechagodzilla ,vs Kong ,vs the Mutos ,, Last Godzilla , Godzilla vs Mothra - the Battle for Earth and above all the 2019 King of monsters latest version which is hands down an absolute masterpiece.
