My boy pulled a 67 ddo yesterday. He said it looked weird. I pulled a 70 s ddo Lincoln cent last night. I'm about to spend my dimes on cigarettes so I'm checking notable dates thanks Christian.
Hey, cool! Yay dimes! That is a helpfull list. The 1982 circulation coin without a mint mark was new info to me. I have been feeling the need to mention from time to time , i have been collecting for just over a year now. I know alot of stuff...for that amount of time.I can pick out a doubled die. Even a very minor one. However I am learning which is which still. The same with rpms. I can find the subtle ones easily But am learning which is which and why ...what die stage is it? Die markers present? And so on. I have learned that while you almost never have a rpm on a doubled die, you can have a rpm that IS part of a doubled die obverse and a ddr can have a rpm as well...lol. I am a self taught gunsmith, accredited .(sorry,i still can't spell for crap and my phone likes to change words randomly both when i type them and when i send messages.so it really trys to make me look like an Idiot...) it took alot of. Basic engenereing and metallurgy knowledge, some physics for dealing with pressures and ballistics amd recoil, alot of math from basic addition and subtraction to using mathimatic formulas for working out how the metals and plastics (polymers) minimum safe thickness if pressure bearing , accounting for the flex, precise ulrra long range shooting uses formulas, too. Chemistry knowledge is needed for understanding the manufacture of propellants and their individual properties, as well as wood working and machinist skills and bussiness skills on top of it. That doesnt even cover all of it. I mention it so as to give an idea of my perspective on variety and error coins. Why I can pick out subtle flaws and differances so easily while not knowing what each one is called yet. I can make the machines and presses and cut the dies to make coins myself(assuming i had the financial ability to get what i needed and a place to keep and use it all to build the stuff. I see some things and wonder if it is really understood whats going on with some folks. I dont see much about vertical doubleing, or leftovers of the old design on top of and within the horizontal boundary of the newly machined devices. So it would look like raised lines on the letters and numbers themselves , probably all on the upper edge, near the rim where it is harder to polish well. Anytime i have tried to send a picture ans a question, or posted a pixture with question I get "oh itzsss machine doubling " ...hmmmm not by the definition I read it isnt but ok. Lol. MD is chatter marks from a bouncing motion caused from reciprocating mass moving at high velocity and impacting a stationary object with more momentum energy than it has weight to dampen . if they had a multi piece weighting system , say 5 small peices making up the needed weight for the strike, and it slides up and down with a spring pushing jusy enough to keep the weights from rattling and to help desellorate the least of the energy ,that weight structure will rebound upwards against the spring , instead of the of the hammer die itself bouncing...same thing as "bolt bounce" in some firearms too.lol.that is8 where my perspective comes from , an example of identifying and solving an industrial problem and using it to note a coin thing im not getting answers for. Lol. Anywho I am sorry for any horrifically long comments I have made, and sorry to annoy, giving my last big comment to the spots i watch and try to hard to communicate with. Another awesome video. Ill keep watching and smashing that like button .
That's really interesting perspective with a background not seen often in the coin world. And yeah, it took me a while to realize how RPMs and DDOs and all that actually happened.
@@TreasureTownCoins Hey You.. I have been collecting coins for about 12 yrs.. I have a lot of Nickels, Pennies, Quarters, and Dimes.. I need proof of the Coins are worth a lot more than the face value..
What dimes have an extra minute mark either up in Roosevelt's hair or off in the field ? I've got a 1988 P dime and he has got another pea mint mark but it's rotated 90° and it's right behind his ear like great behind to the back of the earlobe
I know this videos 3yrs old, but that 1st Dime I heard starts at $600 & not even graded... Believe coincollector or couchcollector has that video, but if you have one you got more than just few extra dollars
I am very pleased with your videos. I find most other channels on currency collecting to be erratic and tough to follow but you have a professional tone and put the leg work into making the video easy to follow. Thank you for doing it this way.
I have a really odd 1965 dime. No ridges on egde and all copper showing on edges. Smaller in circumference than other dimes. Obverse has top of liberty letters cut off. The 5 in the date is only showing top of it. Both sides are covered (not the egde though) with a shiny smooth gray silver coating. 10:12
I have nickel that has writing not on the heads or tails but on the circumference side of the coin. I can't really make it out what it says but you can tell also on the heads and tails I can't make the error out but it looks like it may have been another coin altogether before minted here. Ever heard of anything like this before?
I AM FULL OF PROUD THANKS TO TREASURE TOWN COINS AND YOU CHRISTIAN.YOUR GREAT GOODWILL MAKE THIS HOBBIE MORE WONDERFUL THAN ANY OTHER.I HOPE YOU STAY FULL OF HEALTH AND BLESSINGS DEAR FRIEND.😀👍❤🇺🇸🗽❤🇺🇸🗽🇺🇸
Recently came across what I believe to be a 1989 Copper Dime with an error around the back of the head. Looks as if the back of the head area was pressed down. Wondering if any Experienced collectors out can help me identify this coin
Goodday to all i do have in my collection a 1975 no mint mark jefferson dime. Also 1965.. 66.. 67.. 68.. 72.. 78.. 84p.. prestien colndition on my coin book..😊
I noticed that if you ever want to try and find doubling on coins, to not make the lighting so bright. It makes all the coins look like its doubled. And have to have a good magnifying glass if you don't have a lensed microscope. Also, I had many complaints that my doubled die findings were not true doubled die. But they look like what you have here. They must be amateurs
I have a 1970 D that looks destroyed, but it's not. it's has major mint errors, i cant send a photo here so ill send you a photo to your site. Please let me know what to do, this seems like a coin that wouldnt have another like it.
Good morning, I have not seen anything about a dime I was very fortunate to find. It appears to be a copper dime 1980 P ? I would post a photo but it won't let me
Thank you for all these tips! This video has encouraged me to pull out my Plugable digital microsoft and I'll be installing the software on my new computer and collecting all my dimes to look at closely! Something fun to do if the weather turns bad (which around here looks like may be in the fall...)
🤷🏻♀️I found in a dime bank roll, a dime with a complete Strike through hole in the middle! Is this what they call a, "Struck through a Washer" looks like? I would like to send you a photo, it's the weirdest thing I've seen.
Does the 1999 p dime have any errors that you know about? I just noticed something that looks like a thick NUM under the right leaf on the upper right quarter?
How can I sell my 1964D silver 1965nomintmark 1990P off-center I'm from the Philippines 65 yrs old widower I'm in need of financial may you help me I follow your vlog
I have a 1989 p dime with an error very very similar to the ear on the 2004 at the end. I have no idea whato do with it. My camera sucks and I can't get a god picture at the moment. But are there more like that known? Really dig your channel. Great info. Ty.
I may just be crazy but I really neber look at my dimes but I got a new magnifying glass so I just came across this one it's a 2021 P dime He looks almost like the quarters that have dbld ears? And is this a hole at or n his ear,? Also on his face it's either holes or tiny letters like by his chin , may have strikes . I need a better magnifying glass for certain, but your help would be greatly appreciated thank you May be something on the back or may be it's all nothing , ty again
I have several coins with major DDO damages in others such as appearance of a irregular deep 50% through the coin damage with no noticable high spots on the other side. One with the I N on top of each other. Distinct appearance of die breakage with slide across the coin. In God with deep at creation square cuts through in and God. Are these sought after ?
Hey. In going thru my change container I found for coins in instead in getting feedback on? I was hoping you would be willing to take a look at them and give me your opinion? I really don't trust shops in this area. Have taken coins in for people to look at before and they just try and get them off of me for a dollar or two.... Then I find out later they were worth a whole lot more than that... Really frustrating. Anyways, was wondering if you would be willing to look at them if I sent you pictures?
you are the first that i heard from about the 1983 mint mark, but the examples i found are the P mark. one is almost not there, a tiny blob. the other almost looks kind of like a P.
Hi I'm trying to compare an 1891 dime that I came across in some old loose coins I had since I was a child, but my 1891 has O mint marks all over the front and back of the dime would you know anything about this type?
Would you please give us the best price for the Jefferson Roosevelt silver coin with flaws in the United States of America and the one cent on the coin, and it is a 1991 coin.
I have a what I think to be a 2000 D dime but it's missing the last number and in god we trust the w is almost none existent. Everything else about it is real strong.
I have some and i would love to know if they are worth anything and if there os a way i can send pictures of tue 3. One has no mint marking, the other has many flaws and mising words n year numbers as well as a smooth copper edge.
Just to say thanks for all your videos but it seems that you don't have a bunch of the coins you talk about but I have some of the ones that you explain about ... what I don't get is why can't we just sale our coins like this?
Buenas tardes hola tengo un dime del 1966 tiene errores en varias letras ambos lados y la letras js trae unas bolitas la verdad es que no sé mucho pero se que puede valer algo
Hello! I am new to coin collecting and have been following your channel to learn more about error coins. I did come across this weird 1984 D Roosevelt dime and thought that it could be an error coin. Everything looks fine but on the reverse side where the letter USUNUM is wide and thick, the USU is touching each other. It's so thick that you can't really see the letters. I wanted to ask if I can send you can a picture and see if you can help me identify the coin? I am happy to join your channel. Thanks in advance! =)
Great info. Thorough and to the point without much of the waxing numismatics fluffer that some channels include which grind on for 18-25 minutes when it could be done in 8-10. You've earned a like and a sub. Looking forward to more of your content.
