I don't know, probably because they maybe didn't like her (it's her for me) and since then, she is a build and take down attraction. Also, in FNaF 1 Foxy has a pretty lame Jumpscare so the 'broken' Mangle could allude to that with her brokenness. So ya, that's my small theory...
Chucky at Chuck E. Cheese is a robot but everyone knows he’s a male. Mangle gender is not confirmed but mangle isn’t genderless. That’s like saying Freddy is genderless because he’s a robot to but you know he’s a male as well. Although they do not have the genital areas of a male or female to easily classify them. They are still classified as males and females. What if you neutered a male cat does that make it a female NO. Mangle is Mangle as I just say we don’t know the gender. We all just have to wait till the creator Scott to tell us himself. But hey your just another person over the internet with an opinion that I have know right to switch. So I’ll leave it at this.

I like your theory but its probably wrong bc in fnaf2 I don't remember witch night it was but it said theres an open spot, that may mean that person that was In the role may have been bit(bit of 87) and causing the pizzeria to go on lock or close for a while. And the phone guy said stay close to animatronics bc someone got bit that's what I think

I have proof that Mangle was responsible for the bite of 87. On his radio, the man on mangle’s radio is saying, “10-1, we got a little boy here, he’s missing his frontal lobe, he’s not doing very well” And the frontal lobe is the front part of your brain, so an animatronic obviously bit the front part of the boy’s head, and MANGLE is the one playing the audio recording, so HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BITE OF 87. BOOM.
Regardless of the phone guy said about mangle, I think mangle is girl. I think phone guy assumes mangle is a guy because the old foxy he loved was a guy. Yes, I know that ladies night doesn't nessisarily mean it's only ladies, but why would Scott put a guy animatronic in the ladies night challenge? Scott wouldn't do that. It just confuses people about the gender.
Apparently she was supposed to be a girl version of foxy, but the children loved how different he was to the other three and the fact that he was a pirate, so when they introduced a female pirate, the children's stereotypes kicked in and the hated the fact that there was a female pirate so they tore her apart
In FNAF 2 mangle's right eye is missing but in FNAF 4 you can see that mangle's left eye is missing. The same goes with the second mangle head ( except it is the opposite

Mangle is a female and has been theorised by MatPat and confirmed by Scott. The Bite of 87 or 83 was from FredBear and the victim of it was Purple Guy’s son. He is also played in FNAF 5. The reason why the animatronics are more active when Mangle makes an audio disturbance is because the animatronics roam around. When they find a quiet room, the change to the next. Mangle makes noise to attract them.

well I found out that fnaf sister location takes place in between fnaf1 and fnaf2 so if you play the mini game in sister location and complete it like markiplier you see Circuse Baby bite a kid which is the bite of 87
Mangle's gender is actually unknown. Scott hasn't really given us an official gender, so I thing that mangle is genderless. Also meaning, mangle is not a boy nor a girl, so yeah. I say that mangle is a girl, but that doesn't mean that's the real gender. You can say Mangle's a boy, or girl, it doesn't have an official gender though.(not yet Anyway)
