This will be my third time going. Went for the first time in 2019. 2020 the world was closed for some reason. Went in 2023, I look forward to marching in the parade representing Resident Evil.
Remember the 6-2-1 rule: 6 hours sleep, 2 meals, and 1 shower per day. You are going to be doing a *lot* of walking. If you are wearing new shoes, start breaking them in *now*! When bringing your own refreshments, the hotels (especially the Hilton) are cracking down on outside alcohol. Have fun. It literally is a one-of-its-kind experience.
Great tips as always. Love what you do on your channel. Been going since 2011, only missing one year. However, because of necessary life choices, me and my wife have decided this will be our last Dragon Con for a while. That being said I want this to be the best year we can make it. I wonder if you or anybody can tell me of some not well known things that we could do.
It’s hard to recommend events since everyone is so different. But I just try to dabble in a little of everything over the years: voice actor improv, robot battles, just chilling in the drum circle, karaoke of various types, catching the big photo shoots to name a few.
Dragoncon doesn't shut down room parties. The Hotels do. Also the con doesn't make money off of autographs or photo ops, those prices are set by the guest.
All great tips! The save Lockwood and Co fandom is going for the first time! We will have a fan table. Feel free to stop by. We have some really fun and exciting things!!!
Was just about to comment on your recent video to ask what time the parties starts. I actually got in on the first night. But I can actually say that some of the parties i been to Barley end when I did go . I have most of the raves on my channel tho i might check out some of the other parties since I'll be there Wednesday .
@howtodragoncon I know 😂 I meant I'm going to pick up the badge early that day and I meant I might check out some different parties when I catch one while I'm there thrusday.
Oh! There is a dress code for females at least! Especially people with body paint… can’t show nipple even if painted over. They will make you put on tape over even if you are fully painted. Try to get pasties near your skin color and paint that over so you won’t get flagged. Also read the rules for the props for cosplay!!! For some of the parties they won’t let you take bottles in! One year they checked us and made us leave the bottles out side the ballroom. 😢
@@NottaMoi I haven’t been to a tables in walk of fame this year but they typically just take cash. And yes, there is a handler doing the transaction so the talent is free to just chill and interact with fans.
@@michellesollicito yes, go to the Courtland Grand (formerly Sheraton) hotel for badge pickup. Have QR code and your ID ready. Also, the line to get inside may be wrapped around the building and take over an hour. Plan accordingly!
Im a GA resident and was just going to come up for one day with my son. Any recommendations on where to park? One more question, is there a need for Cash? Thanks for the video!
@@shanescott7763 Parking downtown on a holiday weekend will be a nightmare. Not just with prices but full lots and contest traffic just trying to move a half mile. If possible, park at a Marta station and ride in bc Peachtree Center station literally drops you off at the host hotels. Parking under 24h is free in the stations that have a parking lot (look at Marta site to see which ones do). Definitely bring cash. Most vendors and food places take card but some celeb tables only take cash. And the ATMs in the area could run out over the weekend.
