I’ve considered Freddy one of the best in the league for years and often use him as an example when talking about upper tier tendies. I don’t think he’s ever truly given the credit he deserves for how good and consistent he is and this is coming from a Devils fan.

The only thing that gets me with Freddy, is he lets the weakest goals in when we need him to be solid. Now like you said, he has no defense in front of him, which in turn can lead to goals against.... But damn, it's frustrating. I'm not saying he's a bad goalie, he's great.. but he will always be judged on those weak goals he didn't stop, rather than the standing on his head day after day playing 60 + games a season.

I think he was your missing piece? Ever since cam Ward left it seems your hurricanes have not had steady goaltending. I respect Carolina we played them in the Conference Finals back in 06 cam Ward rookie season I believe? My Sabres were just outmatched yeah we were decimated with injuries Carolina was just too good Edmondson stood no chance. Don't get to talk to many Anaheim Mighty Duck fans but how do you guys feel about Gibson? I know Anaheim loved having Sebastian giguere just like we did with dominik Hasek here in Buffalo. But Gibson seems like he's a great goaltender am I wrong?
