This legendary character, Robin Williams' Genie, has so many memorable lines and moments, he couldn't help but be a scene-stealer in the original 1992 Aladdin. FireSoulReIgnite Ehhhhh, I can kinda see that, but he specifically asked Aladdin to wish for something outrageous for himself (Aladdin). Aladdin wishing for the Nile for himself is an outrageous thing, but Aladdin wishing for denial for himself, not so much. The deal is in the details. Interesting observation, though.

Also its a good way to to make the moment before less of a real somber/happy tear jerker moment. The film isnt exactly thats its bubbly and happy and that moment before was a “well that got real o’clock” moment it gets people laughing again

Man, I laughed every second of this video. Genie is the (animated) embodiment of Robin Williams' comedic talent. Every Genie line in the movie is hilarious. 😂 We lost an incredible artist and showman. RIP Robin Williams.

Agreed. I think he'd respect the fact that Will didn't try to just imitate him but rather take the character in a new direction while respecting the size of the shoes he had to fill. The hate Will _still_ gets from people who haven't even seen the damn movie to judge his performance is beyond old at this point. Because it makes perfect sense to blindly hold strong opinions about things you haven't even seen. 🙄

Every time I seen this movie made me smile. Especially the scenes with Genie. I’ll definitely show this animated movie to my son when buying him the blu ray for his birthday in few months. Yes Robin Williams was an incredible voice over for Genie. 😊😊 RIP Genie. 5 years almost till his passing. It broke my heart hearing how he left the world. I’ll enjoy all his hilarious moments and movies. You’re missed every passing day Robin.

Genie is my favorite Disney character. Whenever I was was feeling blue (pun intended) he was always there to cheer me up. It was a real shock to hear about Robin Williams death. Some of the Genie's best moments were in King of Thieves! Telling Al he needs a bachelor party, dismay at the elephants trampling the carpet then realising it's redundant, using the elephant as a air blower, all of the song There's A Party in Agrahbar, the Lifestyles of the Rich and Magical bit, plus the scene cheering up Jasmine which was all improvised by Robin Williams!

Oh, man. This list just made me love the original Aladdin movie even more! I also enjoy how the Genie can be as genuine with people as he can be humorous. There’s that moment right before Al went to see Jasmine when he put the pizzazz aside simply told Al to just be himself. And kudos for giving an honorable mention to the live-action remake.

Totally forgot that Dan did the voice for Genie in some of the animated versions. He was actually almost as good as Robin and I can't imagine anyone else who could've taken on that role. This makes me want to go back and rewatch all the movies again, nice video :)

They should've hired Dan to play Genie in the Aladdin remake. Not only does he still have the chops to keep going as Homer Simpson. But his performance as Genie was almost on par with Robin's. Manic, zany, off-the-wall and lovable. No disrespect for Will Smith...but he's far too calm to play such a character

From the series I like the running gag "Kids, Don't play with..." Running gag when he was trying to destroy an evil obelisk sent by Mirage. Ending with "Kids, don't play with evil incarnate, someone always gets hurt."

Like Robin Williams said we never had a friend like him he will always continue to be your friend and he will always continue to be part of our time and he will always be part of my childhood and I know he's my friend even though I never met him I feel like he's a part of my life but most importantly be the part of my mom's childhood he's part of my childhood he's part of all childhood's and we go to remember Robin is the funny selfless humble person that we know we are told the person that when I put smiles on people's faces we should always remember Robin that way r i p Robin we will always remember you Robin

Yeah the line has a whole new meaning I haven’t watched Aladdin for a few years after Robin Died. I knew that part would make me cry out of all the celebrities deaths his hit me the most. I watched that movie last year and when I heard him say “I’m free I’m finally free” I lost it I cried like baby because he was the perfect genie. I hoped that he would reprise his role if they ever thought about making Aladdin in live action. But Robin his death hit me the most it felt like I lost a family member.

The scene where Genie saves Aladdin always makes me cry. There's a look of genuine concern on his face when he pulls Aladdin out of the water. Also, a deleted line makes me laugh: "I would have given you mouth-to-mouth, but I don't find you that attractive."

Cheshire Cat 5732 I see what you mean. It was a cute rescue. But I never understood how it really happened. Don't get me wrong Aladdin is my favourite Disney movie ever since I was a kid but Aladdin couldn't make the wish for himself. Aladdin was passed out by the time he rubbed the lamp. I think Genie had no right to make the wish for Aladdin. Genie should either have saved Aladdin as a favour or done nothing. I personally don't think Genie should have intervened. I know it sounds a little harsh but Aladdin needs to accept responsibility for his own actions and shouldn't have expected Genie to go against the lamp rules just for him

Beside the phenomenon work of Robin Williams, the Aladdin’s crews that making the animation are the best to draw and make those voices came true. Thank you ❤, Aladdin is my fav Disney movie ever
