This is a great list. Much better than traditional top 10's where the only games mentioned are the ones everyone knows about already. I'm hoping some of these are reprinted, as a few of them are very hard to find (including Dungeons of Infinity, which just came out!).

Would have been pretty funny if for your #1, you had pick C:DMD just because it's at the top of everyone's list, but obviously that would disqualify it from being a "hidden gem". It's a great list. Bullet is great fun and is one of my favorites!

Nice little vidéo ! I think there's a lot of games out there deserving a bit more attention and positive review ! About your number 4 : I can't wait to get my forgotten waters copy ! Have tried a bit, and really liked it ! :) I also have to try out that Paleo, i got 3 friends that all told me good about that one ! Keep up the good work !

I'll share 3 of my own hidden solo gems. The Dead Eye - It's a wonderful little push your luck card game with some deckbuilding/tableau elements. Not only is the game fun and short, but its also beautiful! The entire game is made to be played with 3d glasses. The effect is phenomenal. Micro City 2nd Edition - This is a reworking of a previously successful pnp game. In this game you are trying to accumulate materials by visiting different locations on a randomly created map to complete a pre-selected project in under X number of turns. It's a wonderful little puzzle that I'm surprised has not received more love. Spire's End - Its a card based dice chucking rpg adventure game. You play as 7 adventurers trying to make it to the top of the spire. Your progress through the tower is represented by a large deck of cards that contain enemies, items, story bits, and scenarios. Very fun little game with a great story.

Terminator Genisys was maybe my biggest suprise of 2020. We played both campaigns and it was so much fun. Especially the expansion brings important additional content. I recommend this game on any occasion ;-)

My coop/solo hiddgen gem list: 1. Dungeon Alliance - thank's to You Colin I bought it with all expansions ;) 2. Iron Helm 3. Jagged Alliance 4. Disciples of Bone & Shadow: Conquered Sun Edition 5. The Walking Dead Here's Negan! 6. Way of The Samurai 7. Cowboy Bebop Space Serenade - solo mode is quite ok, but competitive mode is great 8. Dungeon Brawler 9. Gate 10. Arkham Noir

Lord of the Rings is in my top 10 games & I also really like Forgotten Waters & Liberation of Rietburg. Heroes of Tenefyr & Paleo are both on my wishlist but I haven't had a chance to play them. Great video!

Great list!! Dungeons of Infinity should be arriving here in a few days! You sold me on it last week! Hadnt heard of it before so im glad i did! I also got the lord of the rings anniversary a few months ago. Guess i need to open it! I've added a few more to my list.. :-)

Thanks for a great list! Out of the ones I have played, I completely agree! (#11, 3, 2 in particular) I am surprised Commissioned did not make your list, a hidden gem in my book. I would also add Middara, which really turned me off to it in the original KS due to art style but had a chance to play a few times and the depth is phenomenal. Otherwise, The Search for Planet X would be another gem not too well known, although I know Mike covered it, and Direwild is a blast (I just wish it had expansions). My most anticipated is Euthia, coming later this year!

@@OneStopCoopShop Yes, if you like a good quick puzzle the Solo is just that for Planet X! Also love Direwild (edited my comment to add that one), have not heard of any expansions though, the base scenario is getting old...but I wish there were more to it!

Yeah if ib knew direwild was going to be supported I would keep it. But ib got rid of it due to only 1 boss

Really enjoyed this top 11 I own two of these games (I think it was on your recommendation) Star Trek Frontiers and The liberation of Reitburg. Xenoshyft I play on the app but there are the other eight I will definitely look into. Thank you for this alternate list

Great top ten thanks Colin! Coincidentally, this morning I was wondering why The Liberation of Reitburg didn't get any love. When I posted about the game in Facebook Sologamer group, it didn't much of a response. IMHO it's a neat game. You may recall I don't have massive collection of games so I've nothing to recommend. Maybe Dungeon Saga is a little underrated imho, though it does have a following, possibly more from tabletop wargamers via Mantics' war games. I've still not watched your playthrough of the little known LOTR LCG, and really looking forward to catching up on the campaign!

Star Trek Frontiers? Oh yes, yes - such a wonderful gem. Maybe even better than MageKnight if you like SciFi and don‘t like the extreme difficulty of MK. Thanks for mentioning it.

Cool list. I think it´s funny that Paleo is considered a hidden gem outside of Germany. It´s such a huge hit over here since last October. Pretty much everyone is expecting to find Paleo as a nominee on the "Spiel des Jahres" list this year. So it won´t be a hidden gem much longer :D

Venom Assault (the Villains and Valor expansion is essential though). Co-op or solo deck builder. Basically a GI Joe (with a few other late 80s Hasbro references) theme without the actual IP. Lots of fun.

I think I have played a different Xenoshyft game and enjoyed it but I will have the check out Dreadmire. I have Heroes of Tenefye and I am excited to try it once we are back to live play. Always wanted Star Trek Frontier but I need to catch it for a lower price. Paleo was not one I considered but as always Colin had tempted me so I need to give it another look. Thanks for the video!

Two small solo games I can recommend: Super Hot The Card Game and Lux Aeterna. The later is so short, max 15 minutes (you have to set a timer) and have very interesting choices

I have been playing loads of slay the spire on pc lately and looking for a boardgame dungeon crawler type game. The dungeons of infinity looks like a good contender.

I think the reason Star Trek: Frontiers fell flat is that for a Star Trek fan, it's too complicated and for a Mage Knight fan, it's too simple and stripped down.

Terminator is a great game, I was lucky enough to get the expansion too. Skills are very thematic, saving dice to help others. A couple of the scenarios swing from impossible to easy depending on die rolls but are generally sound. Being able to make your own campaign with the expansion is an added plus. I believe the KS failed which may explain the difficulties in acquiring a copy. Frontiers is epic, steep learning curve but flows well afterwards. Fantastic expansion too with getting The Enterprise and the original crew, again steep learning curve but the final battle with Khan is just epic Star Trek.

oh man some great titles here.. I've only got 3! As for others (just from mine) I think Darkest Night 2nd ed and Marvel Strike Teams (another Andrew Parks design) are 2 that aren't mainstream/popular but stand out as great games. thanks for the list!

Another great list Colin, thanks! I'm interested in Terminator and Paleo but they don't seem to be available in the UK at the mo. My hidden gems include Sierra West for solo, After the Virus and The Bloody Inn for solo... although I'm not sure how 'hidden' they are!?

@@OneStopCoopShop Nick Murphy from Brothers Murph likes the solo mode of Sierra West and 'convinced' me to get it lol Also it was crazy cheap before Christmas, like £14, and it's fun... a nice mix of mechanics. Ohh lists... another list of mechanics you didn't mention in the previous video would be cool. Most notable games that have increased and decreased in popularity with yourself... I.e. that have warmed and cooled on you... if that makes sense? Thanks!

@@OneStopCoopShop It's competitive, cooperative, and solo, all with gorgeous art and custom dice in a small box. I believe they're planning a second Kickstarter/expansion, so maybe they'd hook you up with a copy :D

Mmm... How easier Star Trek Frontiers than Mage Knight, while - According to BGG weight scale, STF is - 4.32, and MK is - 4.33..? Rahdo: "like mage knight before it, just too overburdened with a plethora of needless little persnickety rules. love the euro style deckbuilder gameplay, but not the ameritrash level of "thematic" exceptions that have to be kept in mind. plus too long for our tastes, and really less than ideal as a co-op we thought. i was hoping for a LOT more streamlining of the mage knight design..."

Spoilers for the list . . . . . . . . . 1. My problem with Frontiers is that it's dumbed down version of Mage Knight that is just different enough that siege/photon/phase/range attacks and elemental resistances will confuse the heck out of people when they transition. 2. Number 5 - Argh! :P Maybe I dislike it because the deckbuilding is poorly executed and the randomness is too much for me. 3. Number 7 and Number 3 I could guess :) Isn't Number 2 too new to be on this list?

GREAT point on Frontiers, and that may cause some confusion, but I do feel that the types of attack names may help differentiate it for players? Regardless I am just amazed it did not do as well as I would have thought! Dreadmire I get you on the randomness but man it is just so unique and is always almost always so tense! I love how you feel so accomplished when you can have 0 damage done to the base in a round. And nothing about this list said these were old games :) I just feel like Bullet was one I COMPLETELY missed, and doesn't seem to get much attention yet the gameplay is so quick and fun! I can play it anytime almost! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Do you have any other top 10's you'd like to see?

I misread your sentence "I love how you feel so accomplished when you can have 0 damage done to the base in a round" as "I love how you feel so accomplished when you have 0 damage done."and was confused :D 2. Frontiers - I guess it was too similar to people who like Mage Knight and too much like Mage Knight for people who don't. Which has left a small amount people to like the game who weren't bothered by this 3. As for top 10 lists I have pairs (apart from the first) :) Top Ten Brain Burners (ranked by brain burn) Top 10 games luck haters will despise (ranked by luck) Top 10 games people who love randomness and chaos will despise (ranked by lack of luck) Top 10 Games with most memorable moments not story related (as in I rolled all 1s when attacking an and and died) Top 10 Games with most memorable story related moments (full of spoilers) Top 10 games you should love but don't (ranked by the number of mechanisms the game has that appeal to you) Top 10 games you shouldn't love but do (ranked by the number of mechanisms the game has that don't appeal to you) I can add more but I don't think you have that amount of time on your hands :D 4. Forgot to ask: what about Direwild and Renegade for this list?
