Lisa: It's ironic that dad's size saved the day when a slimmer man would have fallen to his death. Bart: And it's ironic that for once dad's butt prevented the release of toxic gas.
Early series Simpsons is probably one of if not the greatest show ever to hit television. Funny, timeless, intelligent and just all around enjoyable to watch
My personal favorite of all time is Milhouse racing through the neighborhood to show Bart something. He arrives at the door going full tilt, at the same time Homer opens the door to go to work, and Milhouse is flattened, out cold, sprawled on sidewalk. Homer calls back into the house saying something like "Bart, your weird friend is here!", steps over Milhouse, and drives to work. Milhouse remains there, passed out, for the better part of the day.
My dad and I watched the first few seasons together. I would come to the house for dinner with the folks and some laundry help on Sundays, and dad and I would take in The Simpsons. I distinctly remember the two of us falling apart watching Homer go into and out of the gorge.
Homer can be insensitive sometime but at least he cares about his family and even regrets his selfish action that harms his family Peter cared about his family in the early seasons but currently he doesn’t care at all and has deliberately harmed for his selfish gain
I think the funniest moment was in one of the treehouse of horrors V (5) when Homer looked in a mirror, screamed and fell down the stairs. That was the best.
I always die laughing when Homer is super fat and runs up to the ice cream truck ranting and raving and the ice cream guy just freaks out and tells him to take whatever he wants
Growing up in the 90s and coming home from a "hard" day of school to watch The Simpsons, which i considered to be the funniest show of my childhood life, this brings back a lot of nostalgia!! Sad to say, its been years since I've watched any recent Simpsons episodes! Mountain Dew or Crab Juice???
Look at them all through the darkness I'm bringing. They're not sad at all they're actually sining. They sing without juicers. They sing without blenders. They sing without flungers catdablers and smendlers.
My favorite bit of Homer Simpson humor... When he stumbles into the 3rd Dimension, he looks around at it for a bit and reacts by thinking "oh glory of glories... oh heavenly testament to the eternal majesty of God's creation," and then exclaiming "HOLY MACARONI!"
Surely the scene with Homer and Bart's "Big Brother" fighting should be in the Top 10. I laugh every time I hear Homer's back cracking. "This is even more painful than it looks." 😂
Easily one of the best ever clips is when homer talks about fussball and goes off in his tangent...starts playing table football....” you lose Michelangelo David who’s next” then the picture ‘scream’ jumps in...”meeeeeeeeeeeee” fucking genius!!!!!
Personally I think the bail from the car and rolling back in is the funniest thing The Simpsons has ever done. I must have seen it a hundred times but it never fails to make me laugh.
My favorite hilarious Homer moment is when he is eating his pet lobster "Pinchy" and he is torn between his love for tasty food and his grief for pinchy. (sobbing)«No more pain where you are boy!» (then ripps pinchy in 2!)
You know what makes number 1 even funnier? Is that the ambulance that crashed into the tree next to Springfield Gorge is still there in The Simpsons Movie (2007)
cmon, homer and the Simpsons joining the witness relocation program, wearing a shirt and hat WRP. the government agent is trying to acknowledge homer is now Mr Thompson. after hours of trying to convince him, they suggest taping his foot, and homer responds "I think he's talking to you"
This list is missing the Best Homer Moment™: 1. Homer is playing golf at the country club. 2. Homer places two golf balls on the ground next to each other. 3. Homer puts his foot on top of both golf balls. 4. Homer whacks himself in the foot with the driver. 5. Homer screams in pain, then smiles slyly and chuckles while writing down his score. 6. Professional golfer Tom Kite approaches, saying, "You know, Homer, the traditional way to cheat in golf is to _lower_ your score." 7. Homer frowns and replies, "That's _one_ way."
Some of my favorite bits with Homer that did Not make this list is. 1: Homers Stair-breakdown in The Shinning. 2: The Dinner with the Captain on the Submarine. 3:Homers reactions at Dk Hibbert after the Blowfish dinner. 4: Homers dinner at the Freemasonry. 5: Homer forgoets to do his declaration.
I agree, that's when I noticed a bit of a decline in the show. Everyone always says it stopped being funny around season 10 but for me, some of my favorite episodes are from seasons 11, 12, 13... :). The first season is kinda meh imo but most shows are like that.
I have a few more: -The whole "Pick up Bart" scene -The scene where Lisa wakes up from a nightmare about the Boogeyman and Homer actually thinks there is one in the house -Homer's "photographic memory" from the same episode as the aforementioned scene
I think "I am so smart, S-M-R-T" should've made the list. Also, the moment where Homer accidently kills Pinchy the Lobster, and then chooses to eat the whole lobster himself, switching between crying over his friend lobster and enjoying the good meal, is a classic that at least should have been an honorable mention.
One of the best Jokes in Simpson's ever. *Homer plugs into the polygraph machine* I'm going to ask some questions, if you're lying, the light will be red, if you're telling the truth, the light will turn green, Do you understand?" Homer: "Yes." *Machine explodes*
The moment that cracks me up the most is when Homer tries to enjoy his chips, but one of Santa's Little Helper's puppies keeps eating them out of his hands, causing him to say "D'oh" repeatedly. 🤣
What about that episode when mr burns take Bart away from homer and when homer gets him back mr burns brings out that Richard Simmons robot? Lol anybody remember that?
How could you leave out Homer's Odyssey? As he makes the journey through the River of Styx with all of the dead singing along to "Lady" by Styx. All Homer has to say about it is "awwwwwwe! THIS TRULY IS HELL!!!"
For me the funniest moment is still from "Mr. Plow" episode, when he goes into the mountains to save Barney, and says that his truck is as sure-footed as a mountain goat, and then we see a mountain goat slip and fall down the mountain. Cracks me up every time :D
There's one scene that always cracks me up. Is from the horror episode where the Krusty doll is trying to kill homer, and homer yells to Marge ¨Maarge, Margw! the doll is trying to kill me and the toaster has been laughing at me¨
