I cannot express how great it is to see Tom and Gem together on a podcast. You guys kill it together. Both successful and well known anyways, but together, you guys command the attention of the serious collector, and I think it's great for the hobby. I love watching these videos and appreciate all the practical advice. I'm not super adept at Instagram, but I'm trying to get the hang of it now just so I can follow both of you guys there. who knew the 3rd print of venom 3 would've shot off! i only got it because everyone grabbed the first couple prints and the 3rd print was all that was left!
I was looking for cover a a few months ago when it was still 30$ and kept passing up the 3rd print which was still bssically cover price and I didn’t get why people weren’t hyped on it... I love the cover, kicking myself for not grabbing one... ended up with my first print though and got SS 9.8 by cates...
seeing the prices of some of these comments makes it easier in kicking myself for falling off the collecting... lol... glad i got back in the game... thanks for the video, very informative!!!!
Sadly, I think I missed the boat on all these Spider-Verse spec books. I'm not going in now with the prices so crazy. I'll invest in some silver age keys instead
@@Gordypow i do as well but it's crazy how filler silver is cheaper then some of these modern. Its never steamed right; still dont but the market speaks.
I'm sure you can but it's late in the game at this point. I subscribe so i got two. But i keep my ear to the ground and watch the previews for clues to new characters. This day and age the don't print the same 200, 100, cover A if it's hot or older character(asm) the covers 2nd print; 3&4 become less printed than the A cover. Now there are exceptions but stick to that formula and u will hit sometimes because it's work and i don't even hit all the time. Venom first host#2 2nd print i have that, but i sub & get other prints and keep the ear to the ground. 👍good luck& happy hunting
I'm so happy I got in on this when I did. I'd had this book on my Ebay watchlist for a solid year, looking for a deal, while it slowly increased in price. At 50-60 dollars I felt like it was just too high even though I'd specking on everything Knull related for some time. Then, a couple months ago, boom, overnight explosion. In the midst of this, during a Facebook conversation about the book, I'm chatting with a guy that tells me he has about 15 of them. I ask him if he wants to sell one, by chance. Another guy chimes in and tells me to private message him. Long story short, I bought 3 pristine copies from this guy at 50 a piece. He said he'd just had a baby and could use the money. Now they are at CGC, have been signed by Cates and Stegman, and are going through grading. Probably the luckiest moment of collecting for me yet. I should have two 9.8s and a 9.6 if all goes well. Keep looking. Put out feelers, make sure people know you are looking, never know what you might run across...
100% wrong on the first appearance of The Batman Who Laughs where that issue was not from Scott Snyder. Dark Knights Metal #2 is the official first appearance along with Casting #1 with a shadowed image.
The Actual first appearance of 'The Batman Who Laughs' is two months earlier than Teen Titans 12 of November 2017 in Dark Days: The Casting 1 from September 2017. Verifiable on the wiki article on his first appearance.
Of course, Dark Days: The Casting 1 is the first 'Cameo' appearance of the Batman who Laughs and Teen Titans 12 is the first full appearance of The Batman Who Laughs. Did the research and worked that out.
Really want to start collecting been buying/reading them digitally since I live in Mexico so it’s a bit more difficult to find single English issues. That’s why I watch all comictom and Gem Mint videos, to feed that collecting appetite and have more knowledge on the hobby and market, really appreciate all the content guys!!
Bought edge of spider verse 2 and ASM 4 in high school when I was so broke I’m glad I got them lol and I regret passing up on all the hip hop variants when they were cheap
I’ve only been into comics for a year now. But I missed a high grade raw ultimate fall out 4 2 months ago . Last min sniper on an eBay auction. Sitting in a venom #3 though! Love that wolvie variant!!
I really want that ultimate fallout 4 variant. I'm a huge Miles Morales fan and that cover is so much better than cover A. Really enjoying these crossover episodes with gem mint. Great video
I got a Venom #3 shortly after it came out for $20 CAD. I'm dissapointed that I used to pull the digital comic code thing off my books, haha. Still a great book. I got different copy of Venom #3 in amazing condition signed by Cates at FanExpo Canada last summer, which is also pretty cool. Obviously can't get it graded as it wasn't witnessed (I don't even think CGC was at FanExpo Canada, or any Canadian con for that matter?), but it will be a great ungraded piece to have in my collection!
Miles is really heating up, but I am really specing on more of the cosmic characters in the MCU like the Eternals, Celestials, Nova, and Warlock. I think they will explode.

Great video guys! I'm kind bummed I missed out on Knull I should have gotten it while it was sitting at $40. I got my buddy Fred one of those Harley Quinn reprints because he had his original graded with a Kevin Conroy signature and I figured he could read the reprint whenever he wanted. Sounds like I should have gotten one for myself too lol
I haven't been interested in any of the Miles hype really the last few years, i've been reading more and more indy books and now watching those spike up due to possible shows or movies about them aswell though I'll probably sell them off to buy older stuff I like.

To receive that Miles hip hop cover you had to exceed 100% of orders for Invincible Iron Man #4 with orders for Spider-Man #1 reg cvr, and this variant was order all you want.
I’ve never been great at trying to jump into prospective issues. I tried it for a while but ended up just collecting what I like mostly, although episodes like this help out a lot and have made me re think it.
Sure go for!!🤙😁 i was scared at first but there is alot more for us information wise then ever before; u tube, previews& app.key collector,go collect. Just keep that ear to the ground and i hit and miss at times but its fun. I submitted to venom got it in all prints; immortal hulk i doubled down and sold one 1-12 for $250.00 . It payed for everything i just mentioned. Then when venom cooled i picked up just the key apps. BANG then there it was 3rd print #3 then peach mamoka variant#4 and there is still more. Just get on the train my friend and keep UR ear to the ground.
I used to own a Newsstand Batman Adventures 12, but it had some tape on the cover for some reason. I sold it to upgrade to a CGC 9.4, but it's nice seeing the newsstand variants getting some love!
Walk in my lcs to pick up venom 3 and on a lucky day i get the 3rd printing with knull on the cover and right away i knew this new he was going to take over!! Ill always fallow the show thanks for the updates!!

I'm a fan of Spider-Gwen. Mainly a DC collector who is not too fussed about the hype of collecting, but SGs first appearance would be a nice addition to my collection. I value it as a genuinely collectable comic (Overstreet conservative judgement opinion).
Comic Tom and Gem Mint. It's like reading an issue of Marvel Two In One, back in the day.! Love it. As a life time Titans fan that issue 12 is fire. As always make mine Comic Tom.
I got that Amazing Spider-Man #361 graded recently, newsstand, and got a 9.0 without grader notes… I see no flaws, and while I'm a little frustrated it didn't higher, I am STOKED to see it on the list :-)
Picked up ASM OS #4 the other day from my LCS for 60 bucks. It looks like it's a 9.6 or 9.8 Also I sent in my Venom #3 3rd print and #4 2nd print to get signed and graded at CGC. I can't wait to see the grade! :)
