Whats always underrated about the #1 catch is the referee. That was a great call calling it a catch on the field. It's obviously very easy to see on replays and slow-mo but the way the ref signals it was a catch with such certainty is awesome. Eagle eye ref right there.
@@xpo2k9 lol 1 year late, but the answer to your question is yes; if the pass’d been called incomplete Bill could have challenged it as long as the Patriots still had at least 1 timeout left. Reason bein’ for that is when a team challenges a call & the call happens to be confirmed as called correctly, the challengin’ team’s penalized by a loss of one a their timeouts.
Glad you included that 3rd and 14 from the SuperBowl. Not many human beings can take a shot from Kam Chancellor in the middle of the field, let alone hold on to the football and bounce up for extra yards.
I love that one because it showed the fight the Pats had that game. The Broncos receivers were rattled the previous year by the LOB and were playing scared and got blown out. The Pats beat a team that should have started a dynasty, and via a comeback. Maybe their best win of all those SB's as far as the team they beat.
Saw that play as a kid and it always stuck with me how fucking insane that is. Edelman a 5 foot nothing receiver eating a bomb from Kam Chancellor and still pushing for more yards…. Dude was an animal
@@jaycruz8160Hines was a great receiver but more importantly a legendary open-field blocker. Keep your head on a swivel pursuing the ball down field against the steelers.
One of my favorites to watch, when Floyd made that block against the dolphins. When I watched that game the first time, I thought he literally killed the guy. Floyd scored a TD in that game, too.
Thanks for all the memories!!! You replaced Wes Welker when he left, and you were better than him. You put your body through so much, and you never gave up. Super Bowl LI was one of the greatest catches I have ever seen.
Such a tragedy if his career is indeed over. Edelman is one of the most exciting players of his generation. I don't know what it takes to get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame anymore, but he certainly deserves to be there when his time comes !!!
Last one the best catch I have ever witnessed in the best comeback in Superbowl history there will never be another Superbowl like this us patriot fans were truly spoiled over the years I will never forget this game
Definitely not a Patriots fan but Julian was a real weapon and is absolutely hilarious on these pod cast. If you haven't seen him on these pod cast do yourself a favor and check them out. The way he mocks his former teammates and coach is freakin priceless 😂😂😂
Goes to show us how valuable a commodity getting open in small spaces is. He was a third down machine, and hardly ever dropped a pass. The ultimate competitor and teammate.
There’s a clip of Belichick busting Welker over Edelman shining in a game when Welker was hurt . Made the reference about Wally Pipp being the first baseman before Lou Gehrig... Very prophetic looking back . I loved Troy Brown , but this guy is the best !
Real fans know Edelman had a HoF career. Too bad the sports show talking heads, who only look at stat sheets before going on air to talk, think the HoF should be nothing but a glorified wikipedia page of regular season stat leaders.
Edelman is one of the toughest guys to ever step on the field how many 5’10 Receivers can say they consistently bitched the legion of boom in the super bowl insanely talented dude.
From what I have observed From the Atlanta game, Edelman said “I caught it” several times. Then he goes to Brady and says “let’s win the game for your mom” (who was sick). We could feel the momentum was changing. The Patriots went on to win the game from a big deficit. This is a player I admire. Many good plays.
We all knew #1. Best catch possibly ever in a super Bowl and Jones made a phenomenal catch on the falcons drive either right before or right after... but that miracle catch I'll never forget it for as long as I live. The one that still shocks me to this day is when Kam BELTED him and he got back up and kept running, I really thought Kam had knocked him out of the game. I know alot of people don't think he belongs in the Pro Football HoF but let's be real here if people like Shannon Sharpe can get it then he DEFINITELY deserves to be in. Not taking anything away from Shannon Sharpe he was a good player but #11 was a GREAT player and probably one of the "for the team" players to ever set foot on the field. You will be missed Jules good luck in your future endeavors!
2:20 he made that play they made the extra point then Seahawks made that juggling catch then malcome butlers game winning interception Pats 28 - 24 Seahawks
At first I’m like, what does Tim Brown or Steve Largent have on Jules. Then I looked at the stats. He won’t get in the HOF, but he was awesome and a playoff Beast. He didn’t score a lot of TDs, but when you needed a first down or a big play, Edelman stepped up. He also played a little DB one year. Total package.
@@Grandizer8989 yeah very true but he had multiple 100 reception 1000 yard seasons he was a pro bowl snub so many times there is 100% a place for him in canton in my mind
That #1 catch is something else. Freeze at 6:30 too see the ball hovering 2 inches off the turf. But that pass to Amendola was a thing of beauty. Best looking pass thrown all season by a Patriot.
I don’t care what anyone says, though I’m sure there’s a lot of people who would agree with me, he is a HOF player. Obviously not first ballet, but he definitely deserves it. So does Eli
Says a lot about you when they cant fit any plays from your superbowl mvp performance into your highlight reel because of all the other great plays already in there.
Man, I remember when he made that Super Bowl catch, in real time didn't think there was any way he caught it, then on the first replay in slow mo when I saw him re-grip it cleanly in the air I lose my fucking mind. One of the greatest playoff moments of all time.
Edelman is a hall of famer, most catches, yards and touchdown of any receiver in the post-season even surpassing the great Jerry Rice. He is the king of the white, undersize receiver, willing to play in the middle, and to top it all off, he was a former qb and even defensive back. This guy is a real football player folks.
I’d argue Edelman was more important to the Patriots 2010s dynasty than any other offensive player (not named Brady). As Pats fans, we almost got accustomed to not having Gronk on the field due to injury. Edelman was the guy you could always count on, and who Brady would turn to when he needed to make a play.
You left off one of my favorite JE Catches... It was the Infamous Butt Fumble Game... after the Butt Fumble TD He caught a Fumble on the Next Kick Off & Scored another TD... Pats scored 3 TDs in 56 seconds.
Check out documentary when camera is on Belichick finding out he just lost Welker due to injury. There’s a little guy just sitting there with all this eye black. Julien
The catch is amongst 3 defenders! I knew it was a catch the whole time, I was jumping up and down rubbing around the living room saying, it’s a catch , that’s a catch!
Im starting to think it dkesnt exist anymore but he had one catch where he went to hurdle and got hit into a butterfly kick to stay up and salvage a touch down but i cant find video of it anymore
