The guy is a treasure. Love Kurt Russell. He comes off as a regular blue collar worker. Not a Hollywood huge star. But his down to earthness makes him a massively deserving star. The Thing is one of the best horror films ever!!!

I would totally put Soldier #1. He says 17 words in that movie yet somehow pulls off a full performance. Amazing.

One of the most underused and underrated actors ever, able to turn his hand to anything....and be great at it. Shocked they missed the info that Snake Plissken was the inspiration for Metal Gear Solids Snake.

His role in Tombstone as Wyatt Earp was absolutely amazing! I'm not one for Westerns, but this IS my most favorite Western film, and Kurt is the main reason why! Such an incredible role! Jack Burton in Big Trouble in Little China was his most off-beat role, but once again, he delivered the goods like no one could! Another pinnacle role by the great himself! Many will always know him as "Plissken......call me Snake". Escape from New York is a classic, and Snake is one of those roles, much like John McClain in Die Hard, that could've only been done by one actor, and Kurt nailed it! Then there's MacReady, from The Thing. Now, this was a role that I personally didn't think he could pull off when I went to see it in the theaters back in 1982. When it was over, I was a complete Kurt Russell fan, and have been to this day! MacReady was an every-man character, not some swashbuckling hero type. He could get scared, he could get angry, but he also knew what he had to do, and he did it SOOOO well! Kurt Russell is one fantastic character actor, and really has not made a bad movie, or at the very least, HE was not bad in whatever movie he made!

Kurt Russell's Elvis was and is the best ever. Nobody will ever be able to do it better than Kurt Russell.

I know you had it in the intro but Captain Ron is my Favorite. He was Jack Sparrow before people liked drunk boat captains.

"Soldier" was by far one of his best! It's said Walt Disney said Kurt Russel was going to be one of the greatest actors of our time.

His performance as Herb Brooks is one of the most under appreciated performances Ive ever seen.

I've always loved Tango and Cash! Big fan of that movie, I can remember watching it all the time when I was a kid.

To this day, I still think Death Proof is one of Kurt's most underrated performances. He is so freakin' good in the movie. The entire sequence from the moment he shows up at the roadside bar until the part out on the road halfway through is some of the best acting I've seen from Kurt in his career. Naturally The way this list went is exactly how it should be. Glad to see Death Proof on here.

Tombstone was such a great film as great role for Val Kilmer too as Doc Holiday 😊

Silkwood, Swing Shift, Overboard ... and then all his other movies. I agree with what Meryl Streep said about him, "his acting is effortless." Great compliment. Can't understand why he hasn't been nominated or won some awards. He's a great actor with so much charm and a lovely feast for the eyes!

They need to remake this list so that they can properly include “Bone Tomahawk” and “Hateful Eight” in his Top 5

Surprising he wasn't considered for Han Solo back in 1977.

Kurt is one of the most underrated, under appreciated actors of his generation. Just so many great performances - can't disagree with any on this list but a few others also come to mind: Used Cars, Unlawful Entry, Sky High (wonderful performance), Dark Blue (great performance in so so movie), Best of Times, Silkwood. Should have been nominated for an Oscar for Miracle and Backdraft - two of his very, very best performances as well as the tv Elvis.

One of his most overlooked performances is Winter People. A very, very good small film, and his performance is so restrained, but the supporting cast is so good. Definitely worth a rental.

What was interesting about his role in Breakdown was how the character was just an ordinary man instead of some off-duty cop or former marine. It made him more relatable

I've always liked Kurt Russel but I just realized how many good movies he's in and how many of my favorite movies he's in. He also turns in good performances.

Soldier should be more than an honorable mention. That scene when he finally finds his humanity and transforms from a killing machine to a defending warrior is understated controlled acting at its best.

The Mean Season (1985) is a superb crime drama. "Tequila sunrise" Kurt Russell, Mel Gibson, MIchelle Pfeiffer.A really good film with an excellent twist. This film is all about what was great about the 80's.

Just a note, Russell is in a documentary called " The Battered Bastards of Baseball.". Kurt played minor league baseball. His dad, Bing Russell, was an actor and a baseball coaching whisperer. After Bing retired he bought a minor league team. Kurt was a V.P. and a player. This docu is more like a movie about an underdog sports team that beats everyone. It premiered to a standing ovation at Sundance in 2014. Truly an exceptional story, with Kurt. Definitely watch if you have the opportunity.

He was outstanding in JC's The Thing, he really grasped the fact that his character had to realise the magnitude of their situation and the best way to deal with it. You needed to see this at the time and at the cinema to see what i mean.

Even though The Thing is my favorite sci-fi/horror movie I think Snake Plisken is the best character he played as.

I've been enjoying Kurt Russel films my whole life, and he is a super talented and highly under rated actor. I've also heard he's a hell of a guy and a classical libertarian (as opposed to a socialist). I agree with some of the other comments that Used Cars should have at least got a mention, if not a ranking. Dreamer was great, and I really liked Tequila Sunrise. His rendition of Elvis' Such a Night is sublime (like better than the original). I look forward to many more great performances.

He has so many great movies that a top ten just never seems to be enough. I couldnt get enough of his movies and his portrayal of every role he played.

People forget he got his start in clean cut Disney movies. It seemed like one day he was clean cut and the next he was Snake.

I can't believe "Unlawful Entry" wasn't mentioned anywhere in this video. Great film. Some super intense scenes with him and Ray Liotta. One of the best thrillers from the 90's in my opinion.

Tombstone is my favorite Kurt Russell movie. I own a copy of that one. I never watched the movie Elvis he stared in, but that movie looked good.

Kurt Russell is one of my favorite actors of all time. Every movie that he’s in, he dedicated on his craft and he’s always amazing in action and comedy. All the films with his collaborations with John Carpenter are awesome and I wish one movie was on this list is Used Cars directed by Robert Zemeckis!

I liked him in the movie "Used Cars"

#1 was a good choice but Executive Decision, Sgt. Todd in Soldier and Ruddy Russo in Used Cars really should’ve been in the top 10.

While going through this list towards the end, I was starting to think, "Where the hell is 'The Thing?' I guess this vid overlooked it." But then all of a sudden, there it was at number one! R.J, MacReady is a legendary fictional character in my mind. I could relate with the guy so much when the movie came out decades ago. Before seeing the film, I was very depressed like him, I looked like him, drank like him, was reluctant with being around people like him, and lived alone in shack like him. My typical thought after finishing a tough night shift in the freezing Canadian winter, was: "I just want to get back to my shack and get drunk." MacReady was my hero. Funny how art can be so helpful at times.

He was awesome in Used Cars!

No mention of Quanto in 2nd season of Lost in Space. Kurt was a chieftains son, challenging Will Robinson for dominance, and lost to superior intellect.

This list was as close to perfect as any list I have ever seen. Great job!

Love Overboard, Breakdown, BTILC and Escape From New York.. He was a memorable child actor also.
