One problem not addressed in this presentation is transportation. There wasn’t a bridge in Europe that could withstand the weight of the Maus and had to use a snorkel to cross rivers. The US didn’t have shipping that could have transported the T28/T95 across the Atlantic. That was one of the reason for the slow replacement of the Sherman by the Pershing.

One other thing I noticed, the power of a gun has everything to do with velocity and not much to do with size. The German 88 was great because of it's high velocity not it's size. Lots of .50 Cal. Antitank rifles were made and could work cause of high velocity. Great vid . Thanks.

Sir until 9-11 Aberdeen proving grounds was open to the public. I saw many beautiful tanks, artillery pieces and an air craft here and there. The E100 was going to use a 170mm. The T 34 used a 2lb mallet to change gears. It was held in place with a U shaped bracket. It was kinda hard to move. If the French would have used their tanks on mass instead of infantry support they would lasted much longer.

Well, that is if you don't include tanks that were planned but were not built, and raliway military vehicles. for the tanks that were planned but never built there were the P. 1000 'Landkreuzer'/ 'Ratte,' P. 1500 'Monster' and the P. 2000 'Gott.' for the railway tanks the only one I know it's name there was the Schwerer Gustav. and somehow, all of those were German vehicles.

The name "Nebelwerfer" stated as a name of the Sturmtiger assault gun is wrong. The "Nebelwerfer" ("rain-maker" in english) was the name of a different vehicle, a multiple rocket launcher that had several rockets on the back of a half-track vehicle in two rows, being able to fire all in very quick succession. "Sturmmörser", as is the description of the Sturmtiger litterally means "storm-mortar", or "assault-mortar". The Sturmmörser was used to pound holes in bunkers and buildings up close, and the Nebelwerfer to fire rockets in an arch over a longer area. It is bullshit that it was effective against tanks! It was NOT a gun to destroy other tanks, certainly not modern ones.

There were even bigger tanks proposed than the Maus! How about a 1000 ton, and even a 1500 ton tank, powered by U boat engines and carrying naval guns! Never more than a few sketches and specs though.
