I saw Pele in 1976 when the NY Cosmos played the Seattle Sounders just before I turned 13. He ran circles around everybody...literally embarrassing the other players lack of skill (or at least not at HIS level of skill) in much the same way the Harlem Globetrottters did to other players on the BB court. I feel very blessed to have seen him live.

This One Comedian Pelé won 2 WC. 1958 and 1970. Like they already said in the video, he was injured in 1962. Cruyff won 0 WC and 0 EC, even though the 1974 Netherlands squad is one of the best ever. Cruyff pushed the player rights in The Netherlands and throughout Europe. Cruyff and Rinus Michels started the revolution of modern football. Cruyff coached the Dream Team at FC Barcelona, and started the youth training system that would train the likes of Messi. Cruyff started the Tiki-Taka tactics as an extent to Total Football. Cruyff has been legendary both as a player and a coach. Besides that I'm Dutch, I consider a person like Cruyff legendary. And I'm a Feyenoorder btw, it's like a Liverpool fan complementing a Man Utd legend. Now on Pelé and Maradona post-career. Pelé is a great figurehead, sadly never became a coach. Maradona did started a trainer's career.......we all know how well that went. And Maradona, the drugs got into his brain.

@@videos6476 I have a solution for you and everybody that says Pelé and other players from his era played against farmers. 1. Go search the international competitions Santos played. Football wasn't as professional as today because FIFA only really cared about the WC. Most championships were organized by the country/state. That being said, Santos and Botafogo used to profit by playing in europe against Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus... 2. If Pelé played against farmers in Brazil, how did he demolished Europe in 3 WCs? He played against Franz Beckenbauer and won 70's WC. 3. South America still produce the best players in the world. The difference is that since football became business, Europe started to get players from South America. Nowadays, every brazilian player has a dream of playing in Europe. That wasn't common until 90's. Just look for Romário. The guy was the best player in the world with Barcelona and moved back to Brazil to play for Flamengo.

Mario Zagallo was not the captain neither in '58 (Bellini) or '62 (Mauro Ramos). So technically, Beckenbauer was the first one to win a World Cup as a CAPTAIN and a Coach (Deschamps was, too, the captain of '98 France National Team). Take your time to listen :) But as a player yes. Mario Zagallo was the first to win both as player and a manager.
