Kung-Fu Hustle is a masterpiece. when they are trying to kill Landlady with throwing knives is one of the funniest scenes ever.

I love the two scenes with the knife throwing, especially when she yells: "Who's throwing handles!?", and the scene where Sing shows off his talent for lock picking for the first time, but to me, I'll never forget the final battle between Sing VS The Axe Gang and The Beast.

@@eddiewinehosen6665 They said it themselves, Legend of Drunken Master had more impact on popularity of kung fu movies in general. Both Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer are still bit of a hidden gems compared to much more well known Jackie Chan movies.

God of Cookery, Shaolin Soccer, and Kung Fu Hustle are Stephen Chow's holy trilogy. He has a ton of classic films, but to me those are the best.

They put I'm Gonna Get You Sucker on the honorable mention list and it is not a Martial Art Comedy movie, it is just a comedy movie with one martial art scene in it, and they fake the martial art part because they both did not know how to do martial art. If they are going to do that then The Last Dragon could have been on the honorable mention list. Heck, they even can put Police Academy on the honorable mention list, all six of them, if they are going that way.

All of these movies are amazing. But I am very glad that you chose the classic Drunken Master as number 1. Definitely one of the best martial arts movies of all times, and definitely the funniests of all. Kung Fu hustle is a close second! Edit: There are many hilarious well made fully chinese classics that has never been translated to English that would be an awesome addition to this list.

I know I'll probably get slapped for it, but I do love the Rush Hour movies. I'm sure everyone thinks I'm nuts, but I think Chris Tucker is hilarious. I like Jackie Chan even better knowing he does all his own stunts. It makes it a lot more believable. I was kind of bummed not to see The Forbidden Kingdom at least rate an honorable mention. Seeing Jackie Chan and Jet Li together doing their own styles of martial arts, and knowing both do all their own stunts is freaking amazing! I wonder if there was any kind of a language barrier for them, though, because Jackie is from Hong Kong and speaks Cantonese and Jet is from the Mainland and speaks Mandarin. Two completely different languages. (They were speaking native to each other in the movie.) I just wonder if both knew each other's language, or had to learn it, as there is no generic Chinese language.

I would have put Kung Fu Panda at #1, half for the reason you gave for being able to switch seamlessly between being funny and emotional, and the other half for being able to blend funny kung fu with epic kung fu seamlessly. The bridge fight between the Furious Five and Tai Lung is one of the most awesome anythings ever put on cinema ever in my opinion. And it's in a movie billed as a comedy. One more thing for your consideration: Ultimate Versus.

If I'm not back in ten minutes.....call the President. Big Trouble in Little China was and remains awesome. The honest to God kick ass martial artists, Kurt Russell at his comic best and a great supporting cast with director John Carpenter at the helm made it funny as hell. Also, you gotta give it up to James Hong, longtime Hollywood go to Asian actor for supporting roles finally gets to show off what he can do. A classic. Until that movie I never even heard of comic martial arts movies. A timeless classic in that genre.

On the topic of overweight martial artists, I had a sensei who was no taller than 5'5" and probably weighed at least over 250lbs, but he was the quickest and most dexterous person I ever met. Whenever someone sparred with him in the first few seconds they'd get a kick in the face, thrown, be stuck in some kind of arm or leg lock, or have some seriously painful pressure points held and be nearly in tears from a grip that wouldn't even leave a bruise (all of which happened to me). It wasn't very comedic though; it was more terrifying than anything. I fear for anyone who ever tries to pick a fight with him.

Probably doesn’t count as a movie, but “A Fistful of Yen”, the spoof of Enter the Dragon seen in “The Kentucky Fried Movie”, was one of the funniest shorts I had ever seen. Was hoping it would have made this list.

Kung Fu Hustle should definitely have been number one. It's an OSCAR WORTHY work of art. And although me and my son loved it, maybe Kung Fu Panda could've been a bit lower on the list. Other than that, this top 10 is pretty legit. Good job Mojo...👌
