I literally fell off my couch laughing the first time I saw that scene, the pause took me clean out! And when I finally watched it through Lulu and Angel's peanut gallery had me weak! "Go get the clam chowder...before the clam chowder gets you!"
Gawd yes, she is my favourite! Well, Angel and Lil Papi are my favourite together but, you know what I mean! Elektra is the best, and she must be respected!
If Elektra reading that woman for filth, taking a sip of water and then continuing to read her for said filth wasn't on this list I would've been so pissed.
I can't believe Candy speeding for her hammer to fight one of the judges did not even get an honourable mention. That scene was so iconic for her character and how messy and hotheaded yet resilient she is.
POSE is such a good show and educational. When Elektra reads Lulu and Candy she renewed her library card for eternity. But my all time favorite episode was the one that was also bittersweet and that was an important episode was when Candy died. When she lip synced I almost wanted to cry because she didn’t need to die but I understand why this particular episode was important. White trans people do get discriminated but they make it out to the other just barely. Black and brown trans people aren’t that lucky and that’s why this show is needed today so we can learn and understand. On a side note if I were Blanca I could’ve shut down Federica with this read: MADONNA WAS THE BETTER EVITA!
Dude I balled my eyes out during her lip singing performance. I hate that she died but in a way I think it was meant to be, Lulu needed to stand on her own two feet, the ball room community learned that family comes first no matter what and many other personal character lessons learned from Candy's experience. She will live on forever
The Candy's death episode was devastating... The scene of her entering the eternal ballroom of her life, finally being in the spotlight she deserved, is everything!
Greg Marquez It absolutely was, I believe the quote at the end of the episode was from Dorian Corey, who left behind a mummified corpse in her wardrobe when she passed away.
Talking about funny moments, that moment when Blanca makes Elektra apply for a host job at the restaurant and she said "I cant operate a calculator" and Blanca replies, "Bitch they aint asking you to be a mathematician" 🤣😂😆
I’m sorry, but I cringed every time you compared this show to Ru Paul’s Drag Race... Drag does not equal trans... two totally different things. Drag is a form of performance art and being a trans person is an existence.
I think you're stretching way too hard on this. The drag aspect she's refering to is the whole ball, and costumes, and lipsyncs, the lingo, etc... Which no one can deny, became popular because of RuPaul's Drag Race.
Rob Brooks rupaul rakes a lot of queues from the ballroom community. Paris is Burning is one of the most influential parts of the format of the show, so comparisons are only natural.
The entirety of episode 9 in season 2 is most memorable to me. It was a rare moment to see sisters from different houses getting along and simply enjoying life. After all that's happened, the girls were able to have a pleasant worry-free break, in a beach house no less.
This week I watched 2 seasons on Netflix and cried like a baby on almost every episode. I never knew much about this community, what they went through and continue to go through. The family/"House" dynamic is absolutely amazing. To have love, acceptance, recognition and appreciation should automatically be a given. But to fear for your life on the daily is awful and disheartening. Every community has its issues and negative people, that was shown as well. I didnt know my entire being has been influenced by the generation and community from the 80s/90s. I want to say thank them so so so much! I will continue to do my part to have your voice heard properly. Oh and slay as much as I can!!!🙏💕💕💕😥💐
When candy sadly passed. I cried as if my bestfriend died, the ugly cry with tears everywhere. When her dad spoke to her "I'm just getting to know you" That broke my heart 😭
This show was iconic, to say the least. It had so many heartfelt moments, funny moments, happy and sad moments. I wish it was longer. But for what it was, it was amazing. I learned so much about history and the LGBT+ community. I'm not particularly a supporter of the community but I would never treat anyone with the violence and judgment that was prevalent in the 80s and 90s. Heck even to this day, that judgment and mistreatment still exists. But yeah I really felt for the characters in this show. This was so well put together. I loved it ❤️
Goodness, Papi is my favorite character. He proved himself, (and me, since I agreed with him) correct about him being a prize. When I heard him say it the first time, I burst into tears and cried allowed "YES, YOU ARE!" Most every action after those words proved he was, indeed, a prize. He made me feel happy for Angel. She had someone who truly loved and valued her. He worked to make her feel loved, important, safe, and happy. This character is an absolute heartthrob. He kept constantly raising the bar, and singing instead of reciting vows shattered that bar for me. All the characters were well written, but HE was such a sweetheart!
My #1 favorite scenes are the cracks &/or jokes that Pray Tell & Candy gave to one another. Overall, they are my favorite characters & Candy is very much missed but much to our surprise she popped up in every other episode to let us know she is not completely gone but will always be with us. 😄
this show sure has a lot of iconic moments but Candy`s send off is just out of this world. Made me cry like a son of a butch. TBH i think its one of the best moments on TV altogether.
Yessssss! 👏👏 God, I love this show so much! I cannot wait for season 3! Mother Elektra ❤️ I want to also add that the moment between Candy and her parents was just such a powerful moment to me. I cried so hard and had to take a moment to cry and get myself together. This show is such a game changer and I am living for it!
Man, I've never cried as much as I did on the episode where Candy is murdered. Such a heartbreaking and heartwarming feeling at the same time. Angelica Ross deserves an Emmy for her performance.
I love this show it really is one of a kind 💯💓 I love being a trans girl and this show educate the lifestyle of people who are LGBT 🏳️🌈 and what we stand for and what we go still go through in life we are strong and proud❤️👍👌💯
I love this show so much! I don't have cable TV anymore so I don't get to watch it on FX and I have to wait for it to show up on Netflix. I was so deliriously happy when I recently realized that season 2 was finally up on Netflix.
This last season, so many iconic moments. I cant wait for the next season. I just hope I'm not reaching for the tissues so often like season 2. But I have a feeling I will.
I love the mother and son scenes w Blanca and Damon....they can be so honest esp when talking about sexuality...it’s so sweet and touching and I love when they smile and laugh
This show hit too close to home! I came out in 1983 when I was 16. 1986 I lost a good friend to AIDS. Miss you Willie. I got lucky and dodged that bullet.
You know what was such a wow moment? Even though Damon was exploding on everybody, you see how he literally ran from Pray Tell after calling him a slut. It was almost like he has a flash back from his dad beating him...😭😭😭😭 even in all of that, he still has respect for his elders...he was just hurt and it all came out
Also think about it... remember when Blanca and the teacher had the farewell conversation outside the school and she invited the teacher to the party but she declined...imagine if she had been there for all that...idk if the writers did that on purpose but that was well thought out if they did
I'm a 70s baby most of this really happen that's why I love this show a lot of it is real storys they uesd it bring me back to the old days i have 51 kids and we all watch this and talk about it after and it makes for good conversation at our family functions
Pose gave me so much history about my culture 😌 and gave me Pride. Pride to be who I am and to start feeling comfortable with who i am. Im so grateful.😄
The conversation between Angel and Stan’s wife is definitely in my top 3, angel’s whole storyline had been building up to that moment, the moment she finally realizes who she is and what she wants and who Stan really is.
my top 11 moments 11. act up protest (s2 ep 1)- just super important to the lgbtq history. kinda forgot abt it till this video but what angel said was so important 10. angel vs damon vs praytell vs blanca (s2 ep 7 i think)- the reads were rrly funny and the fact everything was laid out on the table just was jaw dropping 9. evangelista vs abundance (s1 ep 1)- mesmerizing ball scene omg.. it was so good 8. blanca and her mother's storyline (s1 ep 5)- it was so heartbreaking, and it's made such an impact on me idk how i'm able to remember every single line from that episode 🥴 7. elektra kills a man (s2 ep 2 i think)- it was funny at first, but then peppermints character started talking about how unfairly a trans woman would be treated in a criminal justice system and i feel it brings a level of humor but also importance. also it's a true story!! 6. blanca and elektras talk (s 1 ep 8)- this scene hits so different... "i don't like being needy... i hate myself for it" is stuck in my head 24/7 5. elektra reads lulu and candy (s1 ep 8)- everything about it was good. the delivery, the reads. such a iconic moment 4. museum heist (s1 ep 1)- fucking iconic way to start a show 3. elektra adopts blanca (s1 ep 1)- "you wanna be my mother?" "no, i am your mother" enough said 2. angel and stans wife talk (s1 ep 6)- "everything i cant have in this world is because of that.. thing down there. if you wanna see who i am that's the last place you should look" ENOUGH SAID.. honorable mention: damon's dance scene: (s1 ep 1) stans introduction: (s1 ep1) angels storyline on christmas (s1 ep2) evangelista vs ferocity: (s1 ep8) blanca vs frederika: (s2 storyline) 1. candys death(s2 ep 3 or 4)- i cried while watching the short scene of candy talking to angel. and the lipsync?!?!? that was so good.
When Candy's dad is telling her a story at her funeral and says " he " stops and corrects himself and says " she " I lost it. Man, I already miss this show.
The break up between Ricky and Damon at the ball... Ricky pleading "Fight for us!"... I have been there and lost it... Probably Rickys best moment! (and I was hurt because I wanted Ricky and Damon to be our "happily ever after " couple... A storyline we don't often get...)
I cried so much during Candy's death episode 😭😭😭😭 I had to break from Pose for two days after that episode. I hate to hear about ppl's death by violence. Her raising up out of the coffin to celebrate with her friends and family one last time, had me sobbing out loud 😭🤧😭
I absolutely love this show... It is one of the best of allllll sitcoms of all time. My favorite is when Damon goes to retrieve Ricky from the piers. The way their love story develops reminds me of when I met my first boyfriend back in 1988... Dana T.
this show got so sad so fast...especially the second season, so much pain, so much struggle, didn't expect the season would end in an (somewhat) uplifting way.
