She fought breast cancer while filming the last few Harry Potter movies, she won the cancer fight, god gave her another decade to live, and became the oldest person on the Harry Potter's ensemble cast to live the longest more than anyone else. What a life, what a talent, what an amazing person. Rest In Peace angel 🥀❤️
Dame Maggie smith played my favourite character in Harry Potter and I loved her and when I heard she passed I cried she was the best actress in Harry Potter
While I'm content with the wonderful performance Maggie Smith gave to McGonagall in the films, I can only imagine how she would've delivered some lines which were only in the book, particularly Order of the Phoenix: - "Have a biscuit, Potter!" - "Need a cough drop, Dolores?" - "I should've made my meaning plainer: He has achieved high marks in all Defense Against the Dark Arts classes set by a competent professor." However, I'm glad there were still those bits in the Order of the Phoenix movie when McGonagall expresses her sas and exasperation towards Umbridge: - "Not at all, Dolores!" - "There are so many things I'd like to say!" RIP Maggie Smith (1934-2024). You are a legend who will be forever remembered.
Rest in peace Maggie Smith. May you catch up with all of your co-stars that made the wizarding world come to life, no matter how big or small their roles were. They deserved to be honored just like you were Wands up! 🪄
There's another funny line that she says in the Goblet if Fire movie; "What? Do nothing? Offer him up as bait? Potter is a boy, not a piece of meat." And also when she says to Barty Junior disguised as Mad-Eye Moody after the ferret; "We never use Transfiguration as a punishment. Surely Dumbledore told you that. Well, you will do well to remember it."
The first part of this comment is one I share. It shows how strict Professor MacGonigall cares about Harry's welfare and protects him, even challenging Dumbledore. It should have been among her most powerful moments.

It's sad to hear about Maggie Smith's passing, especially since she was able to battle through cancer during the filming of the final Harry Potter film. She's yet another actor of the Harry Potter film franchise who will be missed. This is a great tribute to some of her best moments as Minerva McGonagall in the films.

Professor McGonagall was always one of my favorite characters in the Harry Potter franchise. Stern, fair, and compassion to her students. Maggie Smith plays the role so well. Rest in peace, Dame Maggie Smith! You will always be remembered! 🪄
Well done, Morgan. You made the best possible tribute to not just a brilliant actress, but also a brilliant character, who is also my favourite in all of Harry Potter. I smiled with welled up eyes throughout, remembering all these great moments in the films. And I can't help but remember how in Goblet of Fire, when Snape says they should do nothing when it came to Harry's name being pulled out of the Goblet, she says "Potter is a boy, not a piece of meat!" Just that very line demonstrates just how much she cared for Harry. And also the fact that she took Harry and Ron to the Hospital Wing in Chamber of Secrets to see Hermione's Petrified body, knowing how they were her best friends. RIP Dame Maggie Smith, you will treasured by all of us Potter fans.
She was our Granny Wendy, our Mrs. Medlock, our Mother Superior, our Dowager Countess, our dear Professor McGonagall, and so much more. She never knew the meaning of the term Side Character. She stole our hearts in every role. She was a true treasure and the embodiment of her title Grand Dame. 💔😭
By far, she was an absolute legend, not only in the Harry Potter franchise, but if you stop to think of a minute, she has been such a inspiration, specially in the movie Hook played as Wendy, she was definitely my favorite out of all the actors in the Harry Potter and she did 120% It’s really hard to think that she died on the same day as Michael. Hope they rest in peace. 🪄
Let's remember that she had a long brilliant career even though she will be remembered by us for Minerva McGonagall. Maggie Smith was a wonderful and warm actress, dedicating her life to the entertainment of others. She will be missed, but mostly remembered for a lot of sass!
