Honestly, using the same criteria you mentioned in the video, I'd say these are my top 10. 1: Brian's R34 (2F) 2: Brian's Supra 3: Han's RX-7 4: The "Mona Lisa" S15 5: Brian's Eclipse 6: Jesse's Jetta 7: Suki's S2000 8: Sean's RB swapped Fastback 9: Twinkie's Hulkmobile VW 10: The flip car Honorable mentions: Johnny Tran's S2000, Dom's silver GTX (Tokyo Drift), Morimoto's 350Z, and Edwin's Integra
That blue and orange Silvia S15 "Mona Lisa" from Tokyo Drift is one of the greatest cars in the franchise in my opinion. It's sad, that it's not on the list.
As someone who likes Hondas (owned a ‘93 Civic Hatch, ‘01 S2000 and a ‘18 Civic) the line about the civics had me bursting in laughter 🤣 “the heist civics were considered but then I sobered up” 👍🏻🤣
My personal favorite has to be Johnny Tran’s s2000 in the first film, let’s not forget the ‘vtec just kicked in yo’ or ‘too soon junior’ memes that came along with it. Also would love to see you do vlog type videos of you attending your local cars and coffees hearing your opinion on some of today’s car builds
I used to go to car meets with the hot chick that owned the 3g eclipse at 10:44 I was full show car and it stood out big time. I even heard rumors that the girl owner was in Penthouse magazine, not sure how true that is. It makes a 3 second appearance in the scramble scene in 2fast2furious. Always thought it was pretty cool to see a fast & furious car built to mimic a car i saw every Saturday night.
Tokyo drift's JDM Mustang is one of my favourite ones, visually discrete, but a beastly drift machine Tea Hair's 350Z was also quite cool, but not popular enough
Craig: *States his top 10 cars with clear reasoning why he chose said cars as top 10* Butthurt YT commentators: *”whY’S (inserts unmentioned favorite car) nOt oN tHe LIsT?”*
The first 3 films will definitely be films i show my son when he’s a little older, sounds cheesy but they were a big part of my youth and once again craig, great video!
as a 30+ year owner of a 1971 monte carlo, i loved the race scene with the primered 1st gen monte carlo! ...it was awesome to see chevrolet's red headed "dangerfield" step child finally get some love & respect... right up until they rolled it! arrrg!!! ...still got the 1:18 scale proudly displayed on my mantel ...love ur videos man, keep em coming, & god bless dude
I'm not complaining about it not being on the list but one car that stood out to me was the Honda del sol with hydraulics/airbags when the first street race was about to start between Brian and Dom. That quick 3sec drop was dope as hell when your 10y/o.
I was absolutely in love with the Del Sol around the time of the first movie, so that scene always greatly stood out to me. I wanted one as my first car, but by the time I became old enough to get my license, the RSX became more beloved to me than the Del Sol, and I wish that had made an appearance in the films. (If it did and I missed it, please let me know!)
Keep it up Craig, now you're at 110k subs! Appreciate you showing us the original facts about the cars we grew up with and the reason most of us got into cars in the first place!
I would have included Sean's Mustang from Tokyo Drift as an honorable mention. That's really the only Mustang I've seen with an RB26 in it, an HKS exhaust while drifting on Volk Wheels and Toyo Tires.
The Eclipse being top spot is pretty ok. Grand theft auto 5 online recently added a ‘95 Eclipse lookalike with the blue eagle design option, called ‘Almost had You’. So it’s still iconic.
Honestly IMHO I think that 2F2F Brian's GTR should be #1 spot. In my area every one recognize that car, the paint job is copied to other cars too, while bystanders say "hey! it's like fast and furious GTR!" and many people that own R34 somewhat trying to copy Brain's. but it's just my opinion ;) good list, though!
Every car show I've ever been to has been full of R34s replicating Brian's vehicle, with either plates and/or decals saying, "For Paul". I've never seen a Supra mimicking the first movie's at all. I'd put the Supra at #2 still, but the silver Skyline definitely takes the #1 spot when it comes to being iconic.
I wish Jesse would at least be brought up in the newer films it’s like he didn’t even exist. They could talk about him and how much they miss him or something. Anything. #justiceforjesse
The Brian's Mitsubishi Eclipse and Dom's RX7 are the cars who made me a Car enthusiast. That first scene with the green Eclipse and Dom's RX7 are my childhood, and my favorite cars of all the time.
I`m surprised that Sean`s RB26 Mustang didn`t make your list. I found the concept of mixing the American and Japanese car culture really cool. Even today in drifting competitions we can see Japanese bodies with American V8`s. Also I would swap the 2F2F Evo with Tokyo Drift Evo.
@@craiglieberman True graphics wise it was classic Bullitt green with Shelby stripes, but the montage of Frankensteining the Mustang/Mona Lisa into a NISMO Driftstang (and the final Touge) were awesome, if not iconic. Worthy of an honorable mention at least?
@@brentasnyder I'm sorry, but what makes the build iconic? Yes, it's an awesome vehicle, but the list isn't about incredible cars or unique concoctions. It's about the stand-out vehicles of The Fast and the Furious, and a Mustang with a swapped engine would go completely unrecognized as a Fast and Furious vehicle to the general public. It isn't representative of the franchise at all.
I love the orange supra! Although I will never forgive ford for how they did the US market on the escort, we got shit boxes while the UK got champion cosworth rally cars....smh
Nice videos Craig...my question is: Do you have any info or can you do a quick video about the S15 at the end of Tokyo Drift (Sean against Dom)? Thank you
I agree with the list for the .out part, I totally called 3-1! But I'm surprised not to see Han's S15 "Mona Lisa" on the list. That was indeed a very unique wrap from the car.
I know its is cliche but R-34 Skyline GT-R is "first" cuz even people that do not know cars or the movies so much they SURE know the Skyline R34 from F2F2. I agree with Eclipse but many replicas roaming around the world...cuz the original one was "only" non turbo so it is cheap to buy. I know few R34 but no one has a real GT-R...only GT-T replicas(sure...if i own i GT-R i dont want to look like F2F2 wannabe) :-)
Anyone else hoping that in Fast 9 we find out that the one really pulling the strings, who controls Cipher and is really running shit? Jessie! He can be like a Bond villain. He actually survived the shooting but is bitter that he was basically forgotten by....”the family”.
I’d say number one would have to be the Orange Supra. The fact that I can walk into any store that sells toys and find this car says a lot. Why can’t we find the green eclipse anywhere as far as toys?
The blue S15 from Tokyo Drift is missing. It got little amount of screen time. But it's by far one of my favorites. If the S15 Sean drove at end would've had more screen time I would've recommended it.
I had no idea the graphics on the side of the eclipse were eagles until you said that. And I saw that movie in theater's. And I'm sure other people have commented this but damn mind blown
thw eclipse is first of course, i love that car and it's one of the most replicated F&F car ever. also i love my gst and that car is so gorgious looking
too much plastic and dk just down right ugly.... he a old tuner guy so he won't like it.. i used to like veilside but their poor qc just made me don't want to order shit form them... still see it from time to time in japan...
One of my favorite cars is the F-Bomb Camaro featured in the 4th movie. Mostly because I remember reading about this particular car and it's build up in Hot Rod Magazine way before it was borrowed for the movie and stunt cars were made of it. Also a huge fan of David Freiburger and Roadkill, wish they would feature this car more on their show more, it gets mentioned every now and again but seems like the car has a life of it's own and gets loaned out for trade shows all over rather than raced or driven.
Can you talk about the asian fellows White Civic from the first race and first movie? Ive always been curious even though it really doesnt have a big part
Awesome video craig loved it brother keep up the great work what f&f franchise car is next on your list would love to know? See you brother and take care :)
The Shape there has been a few in each movie after number 3 (IMO). I honestly have never seen a 67 c10 built in the way it was built in FF4. That set up is nice ( again imo)
Great list based on your criteria. Sean's Monte is easily recognizable in my eyes. Looks wise the Nismo Mustang Fastback is just another stang, but the melding of Muscle and import was perfect.
For me the red evo from Tokyo drift deserved a spot on the list... I have a few cars from fnf on gta san andreas mobile including the red evo xD I love them hehe
My favorite car was probably Brian’s all blue skyline in the 4th movie but it really wasn’t that iconic. I thought Roman’s mustang from the 6th one could’ve made this list tho. The white exterior and red interior worked well together
Surprised the lifted Charger wasn't listed, not even in the honorable mentions. Thought that would be quite iconic and recognizable. maybe not enough screen time though?
The Maxima!!! Your Maxima lol well it was one of my favorites for its awesome burnout(even tho was setup) and I did love the graphics with the shark. I have plans on recreating this car myself.
Personally, being a muscle car guy, I was a bit bummed that the '71 GTX and the '70 Torino were not at least mentioned. Both are pretty rare, and are less likely to show up at a car meet (especially with the mods they had). Also of note, the GTX supposedly had 2k hp like the silver Charger.
@@klayshotter Lumping all "Muscle cars" into a single category is about as fair as doing the same to all JDM cars. Some are much more common, others are especially rare. The '71 GTX (with the Hemi) was extremely rare with only 30 ever produced (that was for both auto and manual trans). While a bit more common, '72 Gran Torino Sport Fastbacks with the 429 and 4 speed are in the 500-ish range. I have been to many car shows in multiple states and can say that I have never seen a Hemi '71 GTX , and only once came across a 429 '72 Gran Torino fastback, and it was an C-6 auto not a 4 speed.
Hey Craig, another nice video good work man! Big respect for those cars! But have you some info from Hectors Civic ? That paintjob and bodykit still looks badass to this day.
Seeing this video makes me miss my 96 eclipse (GS-T) I really did love that car, becoming a bit hard to find in a decent shape now days and especially in a 5 speed manual like the one I had. It met a terrible fate though, I bought it to restore over time and I didn't check the clutch and found out the hard way the previous owner replaced it at home and did not torque the bolts properly and the clutch came off of the flywheel while I was driving it to work one day. needless to say it completely destroyed the transmission and even sheered the fuel line off from the injector rail, got lucky no sparks happened or I could of been in a car fire or possibly worse. I am a bit glad it happened though it needed a pretty massive bit of work done, strut towers where rusting out, I thought the clutch was worn but already stated what was actually the issue, had a bit of ticking coming from under the valve cover I never investigated, the paint was in terrible condition. really should of passed on it but is one of my all time favorite cars and body styles.
