Nigeria’s problem, was that they had/ still have an annoying traditional/paternalistic expectations of government! Government is looked upon like a father who is supposed to be benevolent/ generous/ protective of them ! It is only now that some are catching on, that government , particularly in Nigeria, holds you back! The day Nigerians embrace private enterprise as the mainstay of development, they will touch the sky !

Land is scarce so only the superwealthy can afford to build stand a lone mansions that we take for granted in Nigeria. Let's appreciate what we have rather always copying other people. I have seen South Africa estate not special about it apart from the interior design. You make it look like it can be compare to that of Beverly hills, the Hamilton, Bel Air, & La Follia in California. The only thing South Africa got over Nigeria is the interior designs. There interior is far better than Nigeria and green vegetation too.

He leaves out Victoria Island and Lekki Phase 1. If you are young, enjoy beach life and social activity none of these places will interest you. Most repatriates go to Victoria Island or Lekki phase 1 and not any of these places. The best restaurants, beach clubs, gyms, salons, spas, and shopping is in these zones. Once again, I would not listen to a Nigerian who has never traveled about where to live. They selected extremely boring places populated by old people with grown children, and who typically live boring lives. The socialite scene is completely overlooked in this video.

Consider also Oniru, the beachfront side of Victoria Island, adjacent to Lekki phase one. If you Are a beach lover this is worth the extra buck to live there. Surrounds three top beach clubs, Moist Landmark, and Truth Beach Clubs.

South Africa was built up by a white European mindset and white money investments! It was built to reflect their European industrial revolution heritage on conquered African soil. Such was their hold on the country , socially, economically and politically, that our fellow black Africans were sidelined to townships and kraals in bantustans ! White South Africans firmly( wrongly) believed they would dominate the country for ever! I am old enough to remember the horror we in Nigeria felt, when we heard Black South Africans had to carry passes to walk about in the city centres . Ironically, Nigeria committed some serious petrodollars to fight against the brutal apartheid regimes for decades! Maybe that’s where we went wrong, because moneys used to fight for the liberation of Angola, Rhodesia (Zimbabwe),Southwest Africa(Namibia) and South Africa should have been used to build up our country! Today Black South Africans seem to have forgotten all that! Now they are claiming all of what was built by the whites as their own , well good for them! Better estates or not, Nigeria makes more sense to me! We are what we are, we are who we are ! We didn’t entertain white colonialists for too long in Nigeria! And indeed Britain too, did not encourage a settler class like they did in East and South Africa! And that’s good enough for us ! Because we own our entire growth process! Nowadays, I hear Black South Africans actually trying to ape/mimic and speak with the white Afrikaners accent, and I cringe! Steve Biko must be turning in his grave .
