Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for me. First Xenoblade game I played and loved every second of it. I'm a hardcore Zelda fan and Breath of the Wild was an amazing experience (especially since it was that first-time open world experience for the franchise) but the story, music (ESPECIALLY THE MUSIC) and characters in Xeno 2 put it over the edge for me. S/O to Torna DLC btw, also amazing stuff.

Great list! and I completely agree with you in regards to TOTK. I don't understand the recent criticisms of it when it fundamentally improved both the gameplay AND storytelling from BOTW. BOTW i feel lacked emotion in the memories and the final boss was anti-climactic while TOTK had amazing character development, emotion, and an epic finale.

My all-time favorite Switch games are currently between Metroid Dread, Tears of the Kingdom, New Pokémon Snap, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Special mention also goes out to Metroid Prime Remastered, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, and Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, which are three of my all-time favorite video games remade to near perfection.

Totk at number one makes sense, Botw, Dread, Legends Arceus Ultimate, Odyssey are some of my favourite games ever and I think the best games in their franchises (aside from Pokémon Black/White, Black2/White2) Great list, and it’s actually wild that you’re almost at 10k, I think I subbed when you had about 300-400! Honestly one of my favorite (probably top 10?) games is Shin Megami Tensei V. I would get crucified for saying this but I enjoyed it more than Persona 5 probably, I just really loved the dark, gritty world of SMT V.

First? Favourite game is TOTK but the game I play the most is Tetris 99.

Some of my favorites are BOTW, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Mario Odyssey as well as Legends Arceus. However, I think my surprise favorite is probably Fire Emblem Three Houses. I would definitely recommend trying it out.

I would be shocked if TOTK wasn't THEE game of the year. I stood in a line for midnight release for that game and it is something I haven't done in probably 8 years.

TOTK is facing backlash because people have their head up Baldur's Gate 3 rear end. Even though BG3 is a buggy mess and the class system is horribly optimized.

Arceus mechanics are hands down the best in series, so why would TPC use it again. They’d rather reuse textures from the 3DS era

BOTW is my favourite! TOTK is definitely better overall with the mechanics and so much more to do, but nothing can replace the feeling I had playing BOTW, exploring this huge world for the first time. Also a really dark and isolating time during COVID, it cured my depression lol. Amazing game! Other favs are Smash Bros, Arceus, Metroid dread, and really enjoying Harvestella right now!

Respectable list and good cases for each of your choices. Personally, I think Link’s Awakening remake, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and Kirby Forgotten Land would have to be on my list as well as Fire Emblem Three Houses and Engage since I really liked both of them a ton.

Pikmin 4 is one of the best Nintendo games ever made.

Super Mario odyssey probably had me the most hype I’d ever been for a game when that was announced. Sandbox Mario is my favorite style and the way the Mario seemed to slowly start becoming more linear with galaxy and 3D world had me worried we might never return to the more open formula like 64 and sunshine, but then odyssey delivered big time with some of the most ambitious world themes in the series. It’s not perfect, too many moons and alot of them made me feel like they should’ve just made them some sort of secondary collectable like the blue coins from Mario sunshine with how quick and easy they were to get. But overall odyssey is a fantastic game and definitely my favorite on the switch

I've noticed Tropical freeze getting a lot of love in recent months. I bought it and played it on the Wii U and honestly I didn't think much of it? I didn't think it was bad I just didn't think it was very memorable either. The only thing I can really remember about the game is that I thought it was too short. Maybe I need to pick up a sale copy and give it another try and see if I missed something the first time around.

Am I the only person who didn't like Tears? I hated the building mechanic. The world was too big and too empty. Honestly... it was... boring. I didnt like Breath, but I liked this one even less.

Great vid, I've recently this year really gone full Metroid crazy. Dread is definitely my favorite switch game and maybe my favorite Metroid game. TotK was very good, but my attention span isn't long enough to stick with it (still haven't quite finished the story). I HUGELY APPRECIATE you giving proper time to pause or skip after saying spoiler alert. Most vids end up saying the spoiler before I can frantically pause

zelda tears of the kingdom is the best game because it's like the ultimate gaming experience there's so much to love about it the graphics are stunning and the world of hyrule is like a dream come true the puzzles are challenging but super satisfying to solve the story is epic and keeps you hooked with its adventure and the characters feel so real the weapons and boss fights are totally thrilling the open world is enormous and filled with secrets to discover and the music sets the perfect mood for every moment it's like the best of the best in gaming and you won't want to stop playing it 🎮👾

The best game of all time on the Switch should be TROMBONE CHAMP. It's music especially just so good it makes me want me to go on a long road trip listening to other people's kids place this in their car.

My top 5 BOTW/TOTK Hollow Knight Links Awakening Ori BF & WoW Hyper Light Drifter Death's Door/Tunic

Although I do think TotK is technically better, BotW is my favorite game on Switch. TotK is still really good but I just had a better first time experience with BotW. And thank you, I love the cutscenes in TotK too. The story wasn’t bad at all it was just not linear enough and it was easy to spoil yourself. I cried a lot when Zelda turned into a dragon, that was so unexpected and it really hit me. The ending and final boss fight are also phenomenal and are better than BotWs imo.

Number 4? Fair. If it wasn't for smash bros I wouldn't have even got the system

Yeah Nintendo Switch is one of my favorite game consoles. It's also perfect for retro gaming collections like TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection, Sega Genesis Classics, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, Mega Man/Mega Man X collection,. I can play those retro games on TV & on handheld. So far my best Switch games are Breath of the Wild Tears of the Kingdom Super Mario Odyssey Donkey Kong County: Tropical Freeze Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Luigi's Mansion 3 Metroid Prime Remastered Metroid Dread Can't wait for Nintendo to show what the new console is going to bring. And yes I definitely want the new system to be backwards compatible with the Switch games and have them play better just like PS5 did with PS4 games & Xbox Series X did with other backwards compatible games from original Xbox to Xbox 360 to Xbox One.

I enjoyed boxboy+boxgirl, but that one at 2 makes this list feel more like a “favorite games” list than a “top games” list to me. Beyond that, personally, I still think that odyssey is a top2-3 game on the system.

Me and my girlfriend are playing couch coop a lot. Snipperclipps and Boxboy + Boxgirl were very fun to play through once. But overcooked will be undefeated. 😀 Oh and Pikmin 3 deluxe is also a great couple game! I didn't play Pikmin 4 yet but will definitely in the holiday season
