Chad and Ryan literally only sang one song and had like 2 scenes together in High School Musical 2 yet have been so popular. Their impact, and it makes so much sense too. If HSM 2 was like a Disney Plus Movie, they would have been together

when i was younger i used to ship dez and trish but rewatching it now i wasn’t really interested in it. but i would’ve preferred them over trish and chuck
dez and chuck would’ve been good in my opinion (if disney had sucked it up already and allowed for gay couples). they “hated” each other, but were also one of each other’s best friends in a way. if you think about it, they were actually good for each other because their competitiveness made them better.
Mal and Evie could’ve been good together too, I feel like they had a lot of good moments (that mostly come from Mal towards Evie). They were so different yet so close, I could totally see them being together
in the descendants book, i forgot which, mal wrote four lines about what she'll miss about ben then proceeds to write a whole ass paragraph about evie. Mal, to Ben: I'll miss the way Ben looked at me. The way he touched my cheek. How it felt when we held hands. His kindness. Mal, to Evie, in the same page: I'll miss the way Evie and I laughed together. How sometimes she could tell what what I was thinking without me having to say a word. All the beautiful clothes she made me, and how much care and thought she put into every piece. (I don't think I'll ever meet another person as talented as Evie.) Staying up late, talking. I'll miss everything about her. I'll miss my one true friend.

At least one of my favourite couples has been there: chad & Ryan. But honestly who watched high school musical 2, has seen their song together and doesn’t come to the natural conclusion that they have crazy chemistry. Their scene could have been the plot for a whole bl teen movie tbh: music club guy and jock that could not be more different from each other, discover their similar interests and gradually fall in love. please make it canon

I’m so happy Maya and Riley made this list. I love this show so much but I hear nothing about it these days. It’s one of the first Disney shows I actually watched and it has one of the most important places in my heart. I recently watched it again with my family and we cried a lot. Zack and Maddie in my mind ended up together when their age gap didn’t matter much anymore. But for some reason, I’ve always been interested in what a relationship between Zack and London could have been like, I feel like they would’ve had a better understanding of one another and would just make me laugh if they had more scenes together. Or even a relationship between London and Maddie could’ve been cool, they were so different yet somehow worked so well together
They (Zack and London) have such a similar way of thinking (remember after cody and bailey broke up, Zack and London cheered them up in the same way) honestly Even though London is kind of older both of them would be soo perfect (I just didn’t like maya)
@Liza Johnson Sometimes, the trope can be forgivable like Austin and Ally. I was completely fine with them not ending up together and was impressed with the writers that they didn't make the male and female leads a couple. Then halfway through the second season, they have crushes on each other. On one hand I was disappointed but on the other, the actors and the characters worked so well off each other and their chemistry was SO great that they made you believe they had feelings for each other. So yeah, SOMETIMES it's excusable.
I remember reading a fan theory about Chad and Ryan. It said the song I Don't Dance had nothing to do with baseball or dancing. The line " hey batter batter, hey batter batter swing" was Ryan expressing he feels Chad is 'batting for the wrong team' and should swing to Ryan's team (coz everyone knows Ryan is gay), and when Chad says " I got to just do my thing" it's him trying to accept his feelings for Ryan. The chorus is Ryan encouraging Chad to just let go and be who he really is and Chad expressing that he's not gay ("but I don't dance...not a chance) because he is scared that his friends/basketball team might view it unfavourably. The clothes switch was to symbolize that by the end of the song Chad just accepted he was into Ryan and decided to show it by wearing Ryan's clothes which were out of his comfort zone. I think this theory is cool, what do you guys think? I ship them heaps and was sad they didn't end up together

It's one of the reasons lemonade mouth is my fav bcuz it actually avoided some of the most common tropes. And getting "friend zoned" is something that is pretty common irl so why not highlight that? As for Trish and dez I'm with you on that one too...I could never see them ending up together....just nooo.
I am the same with my bff! We definitely say I love you a lot and say things that are usually used in a romantic context in a platonic way, so I guess that explains my feelings toward Riley and Maya as a couple because I never shipped them.

Mo and Charlie actually date in the Lemonade Mouth book and they were cute in the book but in the movie the actors don't really click for me as a couple and as you said the way things turned out in the movie was surprising and refreshing, and I enjoy the fact that Scott actually loved Mo enough to change for her and to respect her dreams and support them, and it is one of the reasons why I love the movie so much

My favorite non-canon ship from Girl Meets World will always be Riley and Farkle. But I would’ve been fine with Riley and Maya getting together. I feel like Riley and Maya are only shipped because they’re girls, unlike Cory and Shawn who don’t have that many serious moments, but could’ve been good together too (just not my taste)
I’m 100% convinced that if Girl Meets World would have gone on for longer Farkle and Riley would have been endgame, the new Corey and Topanga. They’re perfect for each other!
Things I kinda shipped were Gil x Jay and Harry x Jay. The first one because of the icebreaker scene in Descendants 2 and the latter being because of Harry's interactions with Jay (since Harry seems like he flirts with everyone).
