Speaking of which, I've been wondering if he'll do top 10 lists of certain monster types. Like Insect, Dinosaur, Plant, Rock, Beast, Beast-Warrior, etc. Although that's probably unlikely, since those types don't have a lot of support options.
My thoughts exactly. It's just a hand. It's no good against materials harder than skin and bone. Unless it can travel while carrying a gun or some shit.
This is, true, a hilarious kind of a troll video. But there's another video that could be done based on the same concept, which is top 10 Vanilla Monsters whose support cards would dominate the Blue Eyes White Dragon.
@@sowhazupguythe thing with mystery hand is, it doesn't even travel dimensions, it's specifically stated to attack BETWEEN dimensions which is way, way more absurd what the hell is it attacking? what kind of monster dwells between dimensions that fucking mystery hand thinks it has a shot at beating??
I CANNOT believe you didn't mention Niwatori. He "Swallows enemies whole and uses their essence as energy". That chicken would just eat Blue Eyes in one bite. That's a powerful chicken.
Mystery, Master of the unknown. Can only special summoned from your hand by banishing face down 2 mystery hand and 2 mystery leg from your hand, field, and or graveyard. This card atk/def is equal half the combined original atk/def of all monster on the field. When this card leave play, you can target cards on the field up to the number of your banished face down cards, return the banished cards to the graveyard and return those targeted cards to each players hand and special summon this card. Atk ? / def ?
I was thinking: This card can be special summoned from hand or deck by banishing 2 mystery hands and 2 mystery legs from the field or hand. When summoned, you may remove from play 1 other card on the field. If this card is removed from the field for any reason, you may special summon it back on the field during the end step. So kinda similar ideas
From a lore standpoint, the BEWD flavor text makes sense, given it was meant to be seen as equal to Exodia and the gods in ancient Egypt. Even Zorc and Yami Bakura respected the powers of the BEWD.
To note, that is only true in the anime. In the manga, while everyone is impressed by Blue-Eyes since it's a rare powerful Ka, it isn't equal to the gods who are considered a tier over Exodia who can be wielded by one feeble old man compared to Atem (a Pharaoh is a god) who is the only one who can used the gods.
@@sonicover The acid can either be dodged or the range isn't enough to melt the whole body. So a fast opponent or one of massive size can just dodge/survive the acid then take out the caterpillar.
Somewhere out there, one random duelist is like, “FINALLY my fav, the champion of my dueling career, is being represented in a Duellogs video! So glad to see my boy, Ray & Temperature.”
This is actually a really fun concept for a video cause there's so many fun Normal Monsters with incredible lore/flavour text that gets overlooked because they're Normal Monsters. I think another fun Top 10 like this would be Top 10 Normal Spellcasters who are more powerful than Dark Magician based on their lore/flavour text.
I like the implication of doma, angel of silence's flavor text. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how powerful you are, if you can melt anything, devour dimensions, or existed since the big bang. All that matters is winning, the one who wins is the strongest. Doma's flavor text tells us loud and clear - eventually, when the dust settles and the fighting is over, doma WILL come out on top. No matter what your feats are, how many abilities and hacks you possess, you cannot change that fact. You can fight back, even score victories, but eventually, with enough time, doma WILL win and rule over everything. It is not a matter of if but when.
Im so shocked you didnt include Cosmo Queen xD her text basically says she rules over the cosmos and they stars xp I swear thats deeper than Blue-Eyes power :p
@@FFKonoko this list considers being able to attack across dimensions as proof of something possessing the power to actually hurt anything with their attacks. So its not exactly like we're sticking to logic here.
That's clearly "Fiend Reflection One Cent"! I like this fun list. And the number of these cards that haven't made it to the TCG really seem like Konami isnt keeping them safe from us, but keeping us safe from THEM. I used to like Twin-Headed Fire Dragon and Sengenjin.
With regards to United Resistance, love to see based comrade Logs, but I’m pretty sure the most revolutions in history would’ve been quashed by the Blue Eyes White Dragon
OH MY GOD YOU MENTIONED YUGIOH BAM! I was really starting to think I was going crazy and was the only one who knew about this game. The music, the fast pace, the everything about it was beautiful. Thank you I’m so glad I’m not alone! I wish they would bring it back I would play it on kongregate and it helped make the days go by so much faster back then. Raghhh thank you
A missed opportunity with Fiend Reflection Mirror 2: the monsters it summons and would logically have control over could be the ones that FRM-1 trapped. This would make them a very deadly combo where anything that posed a greater risk could be trapped and then used against their enemies to turn the tide of battle.
My favorite video idea thus far, I've always read the old school flavor text and laughed at how under powered the card's stats are by comparison. It's funny you chose blue-eyes as the main comparison card, because I remember some kid from my childhood claiming blue eyes can't be destroyed because of it's "effect" LOL
0:25 Let’s be real, if normal monsters had their flavor texts be translated into proper card effects, many of the new cards/effects would be some of the strongest in the game… Blue-Eyes for example… let’s start with making a Blue-Eyes retrain that focuses on being as destructive and “invincible” as possible (Without making it an illegal card, nevermind banned): _Blue-Eyes Pale Dragon_ (LIGHT) Level 8 Dragon/Effect _Cannot be destroyed. Can attack all of your opponent’s monsters once each per battle phase. If this card attacks an opponent’s defense position monster: Inflict piercing battle damage. If this card destroys an opponent’s monster by battle: You can destroy 1 card on the field. You can apply each of the following effects of “Blue-Eyes Pale Dragon” per turn:⚫️If a card is destroyed (By battle or card effect): Add to your hand, shuffle into your deck or send to your GY 1 “-Eyes” card you possess. ⚫️Before your normal draw, Target 1 monster you control: That target can make additional attacks the during battle phase it next battles, equal to the number of cards that were destroyed (By battle or card effect) before it declares an attack._ ATK/3000 DEF/2500 1:40 Then we can do an Xyz retrain for this one here: _Archfiend Reflection_ (WIND) Rank 4 Winged-Beast/Xyz/Effect 2+ Level 4 monsters _You can only control 1 “Archfiend Reflection”. Monsters that would be banished or sent to the GY after they leave the field are instead attached to this card. Once per turn (Quick Effect), you can detach 1 material from this card: Apply 1 of the following effects:_ ⚪️Add to your hand, shuffle into your deck or send to your GY 1 card you possess that mentions “Fiend”, “Mirror” or “Reflection” in it’s name. ⚪️Target 1 monster your opponent controls: Normal or Special Summon 1 monster from your hand, deck or GY with the same original name as that target, but banish it if that target leaves the field. ⚪️Target 1 face-up spell/trap your opponent controls: Activate 1 Spell/Trap from your hand, deck or GY with the same original name as that target. ATK/1300 DEF/1400 4:07 THEN one for these guys: _Heat and Gale_ (LIGHT) Level 3 Fairy/Effect _You can special summon this card from your hand while there is a face-up Field Spell on the field. Cards that would be banished or sent to the GY are instead shuffled into the deck. (Quick Effect) You can Tribute 1 facedown card you control: Destroy 1 card on the field._ ATK/1000 DEF/1000
5:26 Then I’m thinking of on for this hand here.. _Multi-Dimensional Hand_ (DARK) Level 2 Fiend/Effect _Cannot be normal summoned/set. Cannot be special summoned except by its own effect. You can pay 1000 LP (Quick Effect): Special Summon this card you own (Even if it’s banished facedown or equipped/attached to another monster). Can attack your opponent directly, and also, can attack all monsters your opponent controls once each. Unaffected by the effects of monsters it battles._ ATK/500 DEF/500
13:03 I just realized… *_The Millennium Items were NEVER made into their own cards before._* _Sengenjin, Hoarder of the Millennium_ (EARTH) Level 8 Beast-Warrior/Effect _If this card is summoned or inflicts battle damage to your opponent, add 1 “Millennium” card you posses to your hand. Can attack additional times per battle phase for every “Millennium” equip spell equipped to it. Gains the following effects for each “Millennium” Equip Spell equipped to it:_ ⚪️1+ Your opponent must reveal 1 card that is from their hand or facedown on their field to activate a card or effect. ⚪️2+ If a monster you control attacks an opponent’s defense position monster: Inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. ⚪️3+ Monsters you control cannot be detsroyed by battle. ⚪️4+ Monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. ⚪️5+ Monsters you control cannot have their attacks or effects be negated or responded to. ATK.2750 DEF/2500
15:21 _Twin Headed Big Bang Dragon_ (FIRE) Level 6 Pyro/Effect _During the beginning of the turn, you can pay half your LP (Quick Effect): Special Summon this monster that you own (even if it’s banished facedown or equipped/attached to another monster). This effect cannot be negated or responded to. You can only use this effect of “Twin-Headed Big Bang Dragon” once per duel_ ATK/2200 DEF/1700
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire Summoning from deck is already borderline, so summoning from face-down banish is also borderline and too much rule breaking as Quick Effect. Anyway it's getting banned for being a 1-card 8 summons
I feel like while their lore makes many of these monsters seemingly more powerful than Blue-eyes, there should always be a context on how their power works. Like for instance, Acid Crawler. We know its acid mist can melt anything, but at what rate? And how about its size? If it doesn't melt anything very fast, then killing the crawler from a distance with very fast projectile/long range attack before it can emit too much mist will still be viable. Besides, if its acid mist can melt *anything* , what prevents it from melting itself apart? Anotherverse Gluttonia can devour dimensions, but how quick can it do so? Sengenjin *carries* around multiple millenium items. But can it *use* them if at all? I mean, everyone can say "I can do something", but each one will do that 'something' at a varying degree of speed and ease. Imagine a wizard saying, "I can cast a universe-ending spell!". The wizard can certainly do it in fact. But what if in practice, said spell requires years to chant completely?
Honestly, we needed honorable mention to the original rival to the Blue-Eyes White Dragon: The Dark Magician. As for other Normal Monsters that would bring down Blue-Eyes White Dragon… Light Bringer Lucifer, whose Flavor Text reads _"I am the ruler of all creation sitting atop the supreme throne let there be light!"_ A ruler of all creation. And what is Blue-Eyes? A creation. The Snake Hair can just turn BEWD to stone with a glance, and The Shadow who controls the Dark can paralyze BEWD while hidden. Same with Phantom Dewan, who can paralyze a foe with a single curse. Dragon Core Hexer. She's a dragonslayer. She may not _dominate_ the Blue-Eyes, but if her Flavor Text and DEF is anything to look at, it would be a battle of attrition that she would ultimately win. Neo Aqua Madoor can also win a battle of attrition with its "Impenetrable wall of ice." As can Millennium Shield.
Fun fact for you all. There used to be a fake Doma the Angel of Silent that circulated around my school that had an extra 0 for its attack point. So that means, in some universe, Doma is indeed much stronger than Blue-eyes
The flame of the Candle of Fate flickers and dies. The Candle of Fate will now decide the fate of every Monster on this list. They all cease to be. The Candle has spoken.
Love those old vanillas! Mystery Hand and Ray and Temperature were some of my favorites! They really should be given some love, either with an archetype centered around them or just a retrain.
I think you should've mentioned "The Judgement Hand" Level 3 Earth Warrior ATK 1400 / DEF 700 "An all-powerful hand that delivers ruthless attacks." All-powerful. Literally omnipotent Also, the Black Luster Soldier normal monster version which reads "The strongest warrior, it has the same capabilities as Blue-Eyes White Dragon" This upscales BLS as stronger than omnipotent, but also upscales Blue Eyes to be as strong as that, so yeah
Comrade Logs calling for revolution was not what I expected but I am here for it. Also Magicalibra is "A sentient scale. It maintains the balance of the universe, but often places the stars on the wrong side" so it's definitely up there with all the other cosmic forces.
What about Dark Magician? He's the ultimate wizard in terms of not only attack but also defense. What could mortals hope to do against the literal most powerful wizard in destructive and defensive magic?
Love the mention of Yugioh Dark Duel Stories on the Gameboy Color because the rules of of the game are a mix of traditional tribute summons, special fusions, and Duelist Kingdom type advantage. The Blues White Dtagon is a Light based monster which is weak to Shadow monsters so yes there are all kinds of monsters that are weaker than the Blues Eyes and absolutely can take it out. I still get a kick out of summoning a monster like Fire Reaper and having it tank almost every card in Weevils deck because of that rule.
Cool! A new duellogs video on a fun Yugioh topic, I'm sure my mind won't be melted by multidimensional knowledge, incredibly large creatures, ancient tools of death, and the philosophy of all things ending in nothingness!
Sengenjin actually did receive an errata, removing the text that said he carried millennium items, just like millennium shield no longer being a "millennium item" itself
I once saw a video where two people tried to have a duel based on the flavor text of normal monsters. IIRC it came down to a debate on what they were allowed to wish for with Flying Fish.
Gotta love how blue eyes ultimate dragon wasn't mentioned even though it is a normal monster (yes it is a fusion monster but i dong see an effect on the lizard)
Vanilla fusion monsters not having flavor text has always struck me as both a missed opportunity for incredible lore and a very strange design decision.
@@TheKabuto90how is it bad design? Italics on fusion materials, or regular typing on flavor text would look ugly asf, and so would be the combination of both
I never said it was bad, only that it was a strange decision (which is to say that a strange choice isn't necessarily a bad one) and a missed opportunity. I'm sure they could have made it work if they had wanted to. @@eheroairman
A hand could twist reality and reach through dimensions, but that doesn't mean it'll do much when it reaches though the dimensional gap. Going by it's attack stat, I don't even think it could strangle or pull anyone though it.
Fun fact: Blue Eyes was supposed to be Yugi's ace monster. That is why even after Kazuki switched it to Dark Magician, it's Yugi's grandpa who has the Blue Eyes in question that kicked off the series.
Genex Controller states: "As a master of all powers and elements, this is one of the few Genex monsters that can communicate with its companions." I'm positive he'd DEMOLISH the BEWD.
I can’t believe you wouldn’t think to mention Anthrosaurus not only is he like Batman where with enough prep time he’d be able to use his intelligence to make a plan to defeat any foe but the text itself is specifically being said to the opponent which confirms that whichever opponent he faces has the same level of power as him but with less intelligence, meaning there’s no situation in which he would lose. “Dis man-like dinosawz gotta high I.Q., even tho he’s lackin’ in da strength depawtment. (Kinda like yooz, if ya had a high I.Q.! Nyaah!) -God
Interesting analysis video! Especially ignoring the anime, there's definitely room for another series like this! Thanks for uploading, & here's looking forward to more like this!
Remember: You exist. Therefore, you are a thing. And Acid Crawler can melt anything. So, you are capable of being melted by a Level 3, EARTH Insect with 900 ATK and 700 DEF.
I'd like to think that levels and time periods in the lore have a lot to do with the flavor texts' power, Like a 1 star level monster would succumb to the powers of a 4 star but that 4 star could not best an 8 star & Ancient Monsters (DM/BEWD etc) were of a different calibre and such can rival those with absurdly powerful flavor texts or higher levels
I'm glad to watch Top 10s that are purely subjective. And I'm glad you had fun with the script. Also the Anotherverse Glutton dude is giving me Ulamog vibes
In my Opinion u misunterstood the text of "mystery hand" I think it just means that he can twist reality in a way that it can like teleport behind the enemy and attacks the enemy. But its just a little hand against a blue eyes
I love this one! I cannot play much anymore due to adulting but I still enjoy listening to how the game is evolving even if I cannot follow the extensive combo chain heavy format. This top ten turns the formula on its head, talking about the lore of the cards rather its tier 0 status.
This video made me shout "What the FUCK are you talking about?!" at my laptop numerous times in all the best ways. This was some legit Duelist-Kingdom-level nonsense and we NEED more videos like this.
Speaking as a powerscaler here: Anotheverse Gluttonia is probably the most powerful Normal Monster in YGO (according to flavor text), as flavor text implies it can devour not universes, but dimensions (these things are different, even in YGO (check Yubel's words, she specifically states difference between world and dimension)), and such, it scales higher than all other examples (except Dis Pater, who is canonically 4-dimensional being that exists in multiple universes at the same time) due to being multidimensional. 🤓 Another contender for most lore-wise powerful would be Light Bringer Lucifer. Because... reasons.
@@aure2549 You probably meant Azathoth, Cthulhu has nothing to do with end of existence. It is first. Second: while you may be right, but then doesn't Light Bringer Lucifer beat her? She is Ruler of All Creation, meaning end of existence means nothing to her as she can create the world and herself anew.
@@AuthorTheIdiot Technically she can create a world because she exist before this world but it isn't mention that she can create herself nor that her creations are eternal. Dogma being the last remaining entity after the existence doesn't exist anymore means she overscale everything else
