Yeah I'd say at least a 55 gallon but 75 is better.

I used to have elephant nose fish years ago (90's) and they like to play. If you toss in a ping pong ball, they will play for hours chasing it around. Great video - thank you.

I have a couple of these fish and the elephant knows are probably the coolest lol I really like how you broke the video down to each fish and I can jump to each fish and learn about each one and you have the water parameters and everything. Excellent video I like hearing about it!

Hello from 🇬🇧. Interesting video. Some information about the African Butterly fish that people should know is as a top swimmer, they don't like strong light or strong current. Perhaps fin nippers should be avoided.

Nice list but note that most of that bichir footage, ( i.e. I'm pretty sure everything except the albino), was not of the Senegal Bichir.

Your right the little white one was but the other one was a saddled bichir, I've got around 100 of them now

Ive got bichir in my tank ,a few ornates and niles there actually very hardy and can tolerate ph of 6 to 8.1 and its actually pronounced ba -sheer lol

From far away and with low resolution the elephant nose look like dolphins, wonder if a community tank with them and little sharks would look cool

FYI hatchet fish and butterfly fish are jumpers so be careful

Indeed, they are freshwater flying fish, and should be planned for accordingly. Set them up in a big enough aquarium to allow them to demonstrate their flying fish behaviour safely, and they're amazing to watch. But even Marble Hatchets need a 12 foot tank if you're going to do this properly, and most people will want something a LOT bigger than Marble Hatchets in a 12 foot tank! But, just imagine what 50 Marble Hatchets, 200 Cardinal Tetras and 20 Apistogramma panduros will look like in that setup ... Along with 60 Panda Corys :)

had both before in a 75 gal tank with a cover and found them on the floor they are unpredictable and can jump through the smallest openings in the cover.@@Calilasseia

My bichir loves dry shrimp and shrimp pellets natural tropical flakes algae blood worms minnows goldfish rainbow sharks crustaceans 😅 I think maybe he’s just a bit of an oddball and not just because the type of fish… because this dude cray cray… buuut…. I love him ❤️ he’s beautiful and has an awesome personality and is very curious and attracted to movements.. again I don’t think bichir are usually quite like this and are usually more picky.. I guess I got a winner 😅

for the upside down catfish, heres a little thing: you can also get a FALSE upside down catfish ( it just dont go upside down i think ) so thats always a thing

Bichirs need way more than 50 gallons. Closer to 135+ gallons minimum.

Nice list and nice parameters but would only discredit the tank size recommendations for these fishes. It sounded like you went with the BARE minimum a random fish media journalist covered and not what reputable breeders and keepers recommend.
