Do you have tips for beginner teams in UMVC3. I use an Xbox One S Control and I really really want to get good at the the game. Any tips or any tricks would be fantastic.
Ah don't worry about it jmcrofts, It's not like I take UMvsC3 seriously, it's just a lot of fun. In our "scene" doing infinites just means you don't want to play anymore! Great vid! So Doom isn't as powerful as Magneto, he just has better P.R. (also Foot Dive! Foot Dive!) Apparently Wesker is my own personal demon. I coulda' sworn he was broken.... Gambit? Totally honest character, ironically. ^ ^
@@sebastianpaffen IF Phoenix had anywhere near normal health, she might be a broken character. You're right, she can turn a game around like Vergil. As for Ami? Couldn't agree more. Damn dog lol. Don't forget her hit counter move too.
Why would those 4 be there? You sound like some dumb cpu playing only guy. So many random characters can have a killer Triple hyper combo.. bbhood/im can do it by themselves. You named one of the lowest characters in mvc2.
So did Red Venom, but he was still mentioned. It's the same archetype. Glass Cannons. And part of the reason Phoenix was op was because of spamming the tracking fireballs. I remember when UMvC3 was announced, her character was actually booed. They didn't boo her cuz she was bad, but because she was broken.
MvC 2 was defined entirely by Sentinel, NOT Storm. The tournament scene was literally Sentinvel vs. Sentinel as the first characters on screen, because whoever landed a single hit combo'd to finish the other instantly, and then beat the other two team members easily. It was the Sentinel coin flip, even after he was nerfed heavily twice.
Should be rearranged I think. Characters like Cable, Magneto, Virgil and Doom basically dictated the entire meta of their games. Tier lists were based on how well they worked against those characters and even then the best counter to a magneto team was to play a magneto team against it. You just can't compare phoenix or morrigan cheese teams to the impact they had.
heywhatsup65 doom is the definition of op. hidden missiles assist alone can beat most of the cast. especially online with latency. not to mention easy infinites and foot dive.
Am I the only one who thinks Doom should be in number 1 because "HIDDEN MISS-SILES THAT AREN'T HIDDEN 'CAUSE I JUST SHOUTED IT!" and the fact he has a great keepaway/rushdown game? He is all in one!
+Methuselah Utu Matchups aren't that important in the Marvel series because switching is easy. Also, assists can cover-up a characters faults. THEREFORE DOOM IS STILL BROKEN.
you are underrating cable in mvc2, he makes one of the main mechanics of the game an auto loss (assist), has near instant full screen wiff punishing, combined with some of the best keep away in the series; he (and later the robot) made most of the characters in the game unplayable.
Vergil doesn't have the versatility of zero. Although you didn't see it often lvl 3 x factor zero is scary af. But you can also play zero point or second. Harder to run from zero etc.
@@damsen978 You can see videos of people playing Vergil, Magneto goes into the air and flies, then Vergil just sits on the ground while his swords waste away. You feel helpless. Yea, you can H teleport but all that does is allow the other person to call their assist at super jump height :\ Vergil needs meter to do things and he's not faster than Zero. Zero has one of the best back dashes and M teleport is... Berserker buster is broken lol
you forgot cables unblockable set up. works on every character of the game and can be done during the most vulnerable time for each character during incoming after their player has died. a bullet shot placed right as any character is coming in followed by hyper beam makes it for some weird reason unblockable and of course it can be followed up by as many bars the player has to finish up any character or take a huge chunk of life.
I miss the days when a character in games like this had to recover from doing a move. It's so fast now that I can't even tell what is happening half the time.
aquavulpez yup storm there is a gitch fly to the top and spam typhoon you 100% win... same goes for xmen vs street fighter... but mvc3 they remove the gitch...
Cap on would be smart to make the next game closer to mvc2 (2D sprites and all) after the hate from the latest game it would bring so many people around to see updated sprite animations with all the characters people wanted in MvCi
Vanilla MVC3 Zero can do infinite cross-up. He does this move where he just constantly flips over and buzz saws your character keeping you locked in flinching if you fail to block this attack.
Jokes on you, MvC2 has everyone from children of the atom, msh, xm v sf, and msh v sf except for armored spider-man and a joke character from msh vs sf Japanese console version.
4:40 the statue with the man holding earth. I came across a story of two guys that tried ayahuasca and after shared what the experienced and both had visions of a man holding earth.
If Pirus and Crips all got along They'd probably gun me down by the end of this song Seem like the whole city go against me Every time I'm in the street I hear: (08:44)
@jmcrofts As you know, In Marvel Vs. Capcom, There's an alternate method to unlock the secret characters. If you meet certain requirements, you will fight that character and you have unlock that character.
Actually Cable isnt the only Keep-away, Iceman is also too Cuz if right Assists you can hardly get close to Him but not only that but his 'Ice beam' almost Cam eat any projectiles and can shot diagonally
Very VERY surprised to see Vergil so low on the list and Phoenix being absent. Although I love my boy Vergil, I feel like these two characters helped fuck up MvC3 to a certain extent.
For me it has got to be Vergil, insane speed range and mixups. You can litterally win most online matches just by button mashing. Thats how broken he is.
My number one in MvC2 (I stopped after that one) was Ironman. I feel he was slightly OP because his super drains more than most other characters. I think about 3 of his supers blocked does about 50% or more. I would use him expecting my target to block his supers and still win.
Cpt. Commando, akuma and cable was my squad on MVC 2.. cpt. America, ghost rider and akuma was my squad on MVC 3 .akuma and ghost Rider were so godly.i could switch out ghost for Hawkeye, sentinel, amaterasu , doc strange, storm , Hawkeye,or ryu.i was truly unstoppable in that game.too bad I never played anyone online,I think I might've met a challenge
Cable should have been near the top (easily top 3). every competitve team comp pretty much had Cable in it (Doom being the second most overused character in every team comp). no other character was so overused in a competitive environment like Cable. since his AHVB was not only one of the easiest semi infinities in the game (since it only goes till he burns all 5 meters) but the damage from it was insane and he punished entire teams who called out assists with it as he punishes all every opponent on the screen at the same time with it. no other character is capable out putting that much damage onto a team at once and if they did they took more frames to do it in which gave opponents time to counter. if he manages to land any combo that goes into AHVB and he has 5 meters that opponent was dead from 100-0. he also has something no one else had and that was that as soon as he killed one of your characters he has an unblockable AHVB on the opponent coming in with a bullet shot in the air that causes the opponent to unblock right after to eat as many AHVB as his meters allow. this ublockable was enough to win a game if he was the last character on a team as he could easily come back and win in a 1v3 with just unblockable AHVBs. this was why most players made sure Cable was their last character and would him out tag to make sure that happened when he was in danger. alot of team comps revolved around Cable and if Cable died early in a game you pretty much lost the game right then and there as your chances of winning (let alone a comeback) was very low. Iron Man and Dr.Doom from MVC2 should have also been on there because they have great keep away, zoning, chip damage and can stay in the near as long as storm to build up meter. Doom's AA assist was one of the best assists in the game for AA, Zoning , Chip Away and was overused because it setup alot of combos such as Cable's AHVB. Red Venom and Gold War Machine were honestly a waste on the list because there's many more op characters that belonged on the list. most of the op characters are in MVC2 for a reason because that's the game with all the OP shit. i played MVC2 in arcades competitve for a good 7 years and on the dreamcast and it was such a disappointment to see this list was not 75%-90% MVC2 characters.
Honorable mentions for this list are Phoenix from MVC3, and Deadpool from UMVC3. Deadpool is nearly as effective as Morrigan at zoning with his guns and pineapple grenades. He doesn't have the Astral Vision, but he can teleport away from the opponent (and out of the corners when trapped).
My no.1 overpowered character is Hawkeye because in MVCI most of his attacks are shooting with arrows and as an AI he spams most of the time that you can't move at all. Once you're hit by his arrows, it's all over. He'll just keep shooting at you non-stop until you are dead. Well that is the cons for Hawkeye, the AI is too cheap he spams all the time. There are certain battles that he won the match all by himself without taking a hit
Before you get to #1 on the list. I was thinking about Storm. If not I woulda curse you out. Lol! Saw a guy did 1vs 3 In China town many many years ago. Good vid. Gj
I main Zero, Deadpool and Doctor Doom. They were my first "official" team. I didn't even know they were overpowered. I just like Mega Man, Deadpool (who doesn't), and Fantastic Four. But I feel like Super Skrull and Dante should have been on the list. You dont even need to know Dantes combos. He's so spamable its crazy.
Vergil shoul have on top 1 , Dante on top 2 , and top 3 is Zero , this team is the best if put in the right hand , normally would let Zero go out first then Dante and if u lost both , Vergil is the trump card , Vergil summoned swords is just crazy as *Raikosen* Lightning loops
@@billyboleson2830 yeah i agreed dante is fair play if you're casual on his combo , but if you're Dante cloud805 , may god bless you cause his combo is crazy as f ck !! Dante is pretty over kill with cloud805
Bro Rogue and Psylocke on hard MvsC2 on a team is ridiculous, they gotta be on a list and don't even get me started on Iceman, his assist is absolutely the best and takes off crazy energy blocking or not. I know this is your list, but for someone like me that had it on Dreamcast, my list definitely differs. Best fighter of all time is MvsC2 imo
In terms of mvc3, I'd have put Doom at the top, then Vergil, then Morrigan. Doom fits literally anywhere on your team. Hidden missiles is the best assist in the game with no runner up in sight. It locks down, otgs, combos, keeps away, homes in on the opponent. And it inexplicably doesn't go away if doom gets hit. If they did, the assist would be much lower tiered. But once the missiles are out, they will come down. Plus he has damaging solo combos anywhere on screen into a killer level 3. Vergil is really good too. However, he fits the anchor role the best with point and secondary reducing his overall effectiveness. Huge hitboxes, fast movement, spiral sword loops, xf3 with devil trigger can decimate an entire team in seconds making for a huge solo comeback potential. But anchor is the best for him as there are better point and secondaries. Morrigan is really good as well. As if her fly unfly fireball loops weren't hard to traverse enough (with doom missiles covering the sky), she also has astral vision to throw fireballs from behind you, increasing the chip damage tremendously. Also, she gains meter in this install hyper which is actually unfair as every other character has to go into install with the detriment of not being able to build meter. Morrigan also has her own close quarters combos but they aren't the deadliest the game has to offer. I wouldn't put Zero in this. Sure he has lightning loops which are stupid and unfair, but unless he's in x factor, it required the corner and meter for sougenmu. Other than that, his rushdown is pretty good but not as good as Wolverine. Overall a solid character, but I wouldn't say he's as crazy as the other 3. And of course Vanilla Phoenix, but her gimmick is incredibly stupid and shouldn't be in this game or any other. The idea that a character has pitifully low health but will transform into an OP character if you die while having 5 bars.. Is such a stupid mechanic. Honestly Phoenix was interesting enough with her normal moveset so if they just have her normal health and took out Dark Phoenix she would've been a fun character to play with and against.
