@@daviano Hey hey welcome to a slice of Maryland. You can camp at point lookout state park and I believe breezy point. Also assateague island in ocmd. There's a few more but im not a camper so I cant be as of much use 😅
Great video. This will help a lot of people that are new to fishing and the area. I've fished here my whole life and learned something new. Ocean City is a great place to fish this time of the year. The bigger fish are running through there now. Keep up the great content.
Thanks for your support Tomy. Hopefully we can fish together sometime. I see a lot of people catch monsters on rt 50. I just dont have the time to go to ocean city atm. Definitely more to come 🎣👍
@@ZephyrFishing OC is definitely a bit of a drive for me. I'll be heading back there soon to catch some tog. There are nice rockfish to be caught as well. It would be cool to fish with you sometime. DM or email your contact info. I'll be doing some trips out of PLO and will be looking for people to go.
No change to the list. And if I were to make another video. I would have to go to every single place to fish again. People dont realize the amount of work it took for this video. But im glad you enjoy and hope it was helpful
great video. made me appreciate living where I do, 2 minutes from a tributary where I can get perch, mid size cats, rock & massive carps all on the same artificials. Thankfully my spot was not on your list lol :)
@@ZephyrFishing nosiree, I love your channel but I’m not giving my spots up! Plus they’re all northern Maryland and you seem to fish more along the Eastern Shore than I do. I do wish that the shore was a closer drive than it is, but alas. There’s still good fishing here in Harford County nonetheless!
I wish there were more free access spots to crab. Maryland goes out it’s way to elevate it as a symbol of the state, but the amount of spots for recreational crabbers is sadly few.
Man this video was very informative!!! I appreciate all you offer. I’m a native Marylander with a new found love for fishing. Hoping to make it to Jonas Green this coming week. Then from there who knows where I’ll end up. Thanks for giving us some major hot spots. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Yessir glad it was helpful 🙏. It's a bit early, I dont go out until mid May depending on what you want to target. Perch are far north spawning currently spot are still in deeper waters and rocks may still be around
@@dougiemac8417 appreciate your support! It wasnt easy making this video. Had to go to all the locations to compile, but im glad im able to help locals and those visiting navigate 🎣. We'll see what this season holds 🤠
I live in lexington park md. Point lookout is absolutely hit or miss. Those hit days are a blast. Chased everything from striped bass to speckled trout on the yak. Piney point will bankrupt your gear. Solomons is nice to fish on the yak to get away from the pier. Solomons stacks with people quickly.
@ZephyrFishing for sure man. The wife and I did the cottages in st micheals. Had a blast on the yaks. Gotta do a bit more eastern shore stuff this season
I do really well there but the paid to park does kill me. Rather go there then snag at kent/piney narrow. Anywhere else is too far so the gas and mileage probably will be the same as paying the parking. It's a whole rectangular area for me. If my #2 and #3 doesn't pan out I go to the narrows. I only pay 1hr at a time to see if the fishing is good before loading up the meter cause im always chasing the fish
At fort small wood we caught barely anything last time probably because we used shrimp and the guy next to us was catching catfish yellow perch spot and white perch 🤯🤯
@@stevenonthewater6070 crazy. I know a spot near the drum point where the water drops off super quick into the pax River channel. Probably good rockfishing from the beach but haven't tried it.
Hey Billy, i am gonna go fishing for the last time this summer because i play soccer and my season is abt to start. I just wanted to ask what places are good to catch tons of white perch? I know they are headed out to the bay now. Would matapeake or romancoke be good?
Yes both places are good use small razor clam on small hook. There's also a head boat out of kent narrow they load up on perch too that I haven't got a chance to make a vid on. Technique is shown in my vid
@@ZephyrFishing what place do you think is better right now for the perch? And do you think grass shrimp would work in the bag also? Because I will most likely use grass shrimp and razor clams
@@aaronbenitez1586 grass shrimp is even better tbh if you can get fresh. And im not sure it's still too hot. Never know one day they're at roman next at mata
@@ZephyrFishing Sorry, also, what size and type of hooks? Kind of a newbie to fishing later in life. I have found it really relaxing and mind-clearing.
The only fish that are running right now are rockfish, catfish, and white perch. Perch are in deeper water now but also more up river this time of year. You'll see a video of me shortly catching perch and catfish. Spot are gone
Sandy point state park and drop live bait or jig at pylon where all the birds chill at or go to Ocean city 90 bridge. Big catfish everywhere especially in DC just find a launch
Saltwater fishing is great and all but just wait how precious good spots can be when you get into fresh water fishing. Instead of blues and rockfish I’m targeting largemouth/pike/snakehead all while throwing the exact same types of lures. Finding a new spot usually includes google earth and trekking through woods. Saltwater got me into fishing but freshwater is where the passion is for me
Im literally the opposite. I learned how to fish in freshwater. I do go back to it here and there but I definitely prefer saltwater especially in florida.
Dood, put the small strippers as well as the small red and black drums back in the water as fast as you can... they get really beat up when you handle them so much... and end up dying just a little later... otherwise good video
Welcome to MD 🤠 you're best bet for saltwater fishing would be fort smallwood, downs park, and jonas green pier. Make your you watch my videos in advance to save you money on downs and smallwood. As for freshwater im not sure im more of a saltwater fisherman. If you're craving crabs buy direct from crabber fvmisspaula
@@gsuarez177 I follow him on IG and message there. But in the summer you can also crab at smallwood and downs pretty good at both places especially smallwood
