Thanks for the awesome video and just subscribed. I live on the James River in front of the Ghost Fleet and will give this a try but I think I'll have to head farther south on the James for shrimp. Any idea how far up the James they go?

Thanks for subscribing Jerald! Most of the shrimping we've done is in the middle Bay area, but with things changing like they are, it's likely the Shrimp are more and more in the James. Good luck getting them!!

at 7:46 did you get a drop of water on the lens, or did you have to blur out blood and guts after repeatedly crushing the shrimp with net weights?

Professor, I have a place on the eastern shore (Nandua bay, Currituck creek) . What is the "window" for shrimping (dates). How do I identify good places to search for shrimp in the inner creeks? What depth is typical? Cast net type? Thanks, you are a great bay fishing resource. This looks like a cool thing to do when fishing is spotty.

Can you catch shrimp farther north closer to Baltimore ?
@saltwaterfishinguniversity

We haven’t heard of folks catching them up there, but it wouldn’t surprise us at all. They seem to get further North in the Bay every year.

Wow. I had no idea there were big 'ol shrimp like that on the lower Chesapeake. Am guessing the Albemarle Sound probably has them too.

Why you didn’t keep the heads for bait
@saltwaterfishinguniversity
@saltwaterfishinguniversity 2 года назад
Hey Jeff, they can certainly be used for bait, but we already had so many there wasn't a need to keep any more. Do you fish with shrimp heads often?

I have enjoyed your videos but was completely turned off by the omega plug, the absolute worst thing to come to the chesapeake bay
@saltwaterfishinguniversity
@saltwaterfishinguniversity Год назад
Understandable. We are from Reedville and many of our friends over the years have worked at Omega. Personally (Marcus speaking), I see the arguments on both sides, and without question, we have a striped bass problem in the Bay. Kepp in mind too, Capt Ron wasn’t “plugging “ Omega per se. He gets the bait from there, and that’s a question we’ve been asked many times.
