Yea Iowa State. Pulled off one of the most awesome wins I've seen in a while. 4 score underdogs against OSU and came away with a W. I congratulate Iowa State on a game well played. I am an Alabama fan, so I was routing for Iowa State, but honestly I expected Oklahoma to be the team that put them down, but those boys came to play tonight and pulled off a huge upset. There's a lot of folks loving your state right now here in Bama, except fans of the AU-BARN .Good luck with the rest of your games.
I was at the old ISU stadium in 1972 when George Amundson through a touchdown pass late in the game to tie defending National Champion Nebraska. Doesn't get any better.
...I was there too...1972...TWO-TIME defending national champ Nebraska...Bob Devaney was going for his 100th career win...Amundson to Willie Jones...that should be top 5...also Merv Krakau sacked David Humm like 5 times...I think he was voted AP's national player of the week for his performance...
Nice work. Any year when Iowa has a great season they act like Iowa State doesn't exist. Remember 2005 when Iowa went to Ames ranked #8 in the nation and got knocked off? It's a great rivalry for the state. Looking forward to the 2010 season!
Great compilation...I would have included JJ Moses running for a 50-55 yard toouchdown on ISU's first offensive play vs. Iowa in 2000 but these are all good too! Nice work and thanks for posting.
...yep! ...that was a sweet misdirection reverse! ...Sqwawks were clueless! ...was there at Kinnick...place let out a collective "Aw Shit!" ...shoulda been on the clip...
3:38 is the greatest play in ISU history. I’m biased because I was there and I was like 10 and Seneca Wallace was one of the best I ever saw in person.
If Iowa State ever had a "dream season" everyone in the United States that is a college football fan would be cheering for them. That said, Rhoads will get them fired up.. I can't wait for this fall!
@AdamTheGood As an Iowa Fan i will defend Iowa. Iowa was way overated that year and everybdoy knew it. We lost our entire D-line, and people thought that since we had 2 of the best linebackers in Big Ten; then the linebackers could pick up the slack from the line. Also Drew Tate got hurt. And Iowa State was a very good team that year. Iowa State lost 3 games in overtime, and the other 2 by 10 points and 3 points. I am not trying to take anything away from Iowa State as it was a great win.
Rhoads didn't have as many Chizik players as you think. Chizik's 07 class was 12 Juco's, 4 guys recruited by the previous coach, and that left about 10 other players. Only 4 Chizik recruits from 2007 made it to play for Rhoads. Of Chizik's 08 class 17 of the 25 stayed with the team. Chizik only had 9 recruits for the 2009 class when he took the Auburn job. So Chiziik handed Rhoads a whooping 30 recruits..and only 4 of them were upperclassmen. Rhoads won w/ Dan McCarney's players in 09.
@AuburnTigerz69 An Auburn Football Player and his date are walking along in a park. His date says suddenly, "Awww, look at the dead birdie". The Auburn Player stops, looks up, and says, "Where?"
Phenomenal. Exquisite. Perfect. Miraculous. This video has opened my eyes, the usage of explosions lightly traveling through these monumental moments have had a profound impact on this life long hawkeye fan. I have watched this short film 4 times in a row now and still feel the emotions as if I was there on the sidelines. I now feel great joy in the ISU win over the hawks 2 years ago, I have removed my Hawkeye hat and plan on buying a cyclones hat. Never again will I cheer for the hawks. ISU!
It's about freakin time you got a top 10 video compiled for Iowa State. It only took you what 100 some odd years just to come up with 10 decent plays. :p Nice job but GO HAWKS!
No we don't "got Chizik" - and that is a good thing. He was not going to be successful here. It was a good thing for both sides that they parted when they did. The better question for the Chiz right now would be "Got Cam"?? Amazing how having the Heisman Trophy winner on your team can inflate the impressions of your coaching ability...
Good to see you included a play from the '92 upset over the Huskers. We're still in shock over that game. However, Wallace's TD run against us in '01 that you have on here was against our 2nd and 3rd team defense because we were up 41-0 at that point. Good luck to the Cyclones in the future - keep beating Texas!
