I only ever saw the qe2 of falbrav LIVE in 2003 and have been scouring youtube for years looking for it,...thank you so much for putting it up...my fav horse of all time....DEVASTATING acceleration.. Im hoping the step up to 10f for frankel cane exaggerate his turn of foot because til this day there still is not a horse with such an illustrative change of gear than falbrav... instant!
@flimper1 Up until this past season I'd always regarded Zilzal as the best miler that I'd seen. There had been some brilliant milers that had tested that opinion over the years such as Zafonic, Dubai Millenium, Hawk Wing, Rock of Gibraltar & Goldikova but I'd always stuck with Zilzal. Frankel though is a very special racehorse and I think he's the best I've seen at a mile. This season he could turn out be the best I've seen at 1m 2f as well. Zilzal is still my favourite though :)
Looking back at previous runnings of Ascot's mile championship, Raven's Pass beating Henrythenavigator, Poet's Voice edging out Rip Van Winkle and Frankie on Mark Of Esteem, one of his seven on the day.... and Frankel.
Was at Ascot when Selkirk sluiced up under R Cochrane and should have done back to back but for John Reid giving the horse a dreadful ride. Very good miler who was quite underated.
Can only go on what I see Barbara..... if you look at those 3, they all were very impressive in that particular race. In terms of Brigadier Gerrard, he won the race twice by big margins. So must have been a good answer, but I tend not to comment on things I never saw with my own eyes.
@@andrewwilliams4283 thats what I'm saying, I never saw owen tudor nor hyperion nor meld, but they were all fantastic horses. I just wish people would look things up and learn about what other horses achieved.
Frankel is number 1 for a very simple reason...he's the greatest racehorse of all time. Stats n ratings prove that.. none of these would have got within 3l if it.
+Jimmy Stewart Then what about Kincsem? 54 out of 54. Against male, female, on all distances, on all surfaces. Of course horses ran in those times competing with less average speed to the finish. I don't think Kincsem would stay unbeaten for too long if she would race against these modern monsters.
Mark Mcloughlin Are you really saying Frankel was overrated? Haha! Here's a little stat for you that I figured out at the end of the 2015 Flat season. The two best horses of 2015 (Golden Horn & American Pharoh - A Derby & Arc winner this side of the Atlantic, and a Triple Crown winner the other side of the pond) combined in their life times won 16 races from 20 starts. They beat 27 individual G1 winners, who between them won 52 G1s. Frankel by himself won 14 races from 14 starts. He beat 25 individual G1 winners, who between them won 62 G1s. Good luck!!
