Top 10 reasons NOT to move to New Hampshire. It is a swing state and that sucks, kind of. 

As someone who's lived in NH all my life, I have never once met a swinger. As for the lack of diversity, we also have some of the lowest crime rates in the nation, outside of drug related crimes of course

I grew up in NH and had a really hard time taking this list seriously. Property taxes and meth were really the only accurate things in here.

Did this dude ever live here! I've been here for 15+ years. Never met a swinger. And New Hampshire has one of the lowest gun violence rates... because we all have one. Diversity bull crap is a lie, how many countries are not diverse? Do you go to China and say there are too many Chinese?! Many people don't move here because winters are colder.

Sorry but disagree completely on number 3, Diversity is not a strength. Let people decide where they want to live but do not force engineer states because you think its a good idea. Like as been said if similar cultures they usually get along but too different causes issues...A little of some cultures is ok too much and it blows up...

Says that lack of diversity is unsafe... but somehow forgets to mention that NH is constantly ranked near the top for safest state. There is close to no violent crime here. Lack of diversity is a moot point and mostly horseshit. Also, being a swing state is more good than anything. I don't mean to get all political, but we also have a higher concentration of libertarians than pretty much anywhere else. Hint: that means we have a greater amount of people who can think for themselves instead of the general left/right bullshit that gets fed to us on the regular. You may as well call it reason #11 (or maybe reason#1 in this case) but if you live in the southern part of the state, then having to deal with Massholes on the regular should be on your list. Other than that, pretty good video.

"Diversity is important in a healthy society and that's just fact." That's patently untrue. That's a utopian, progressive narrative that has zero basis in actual reality. Some of the best countries to live in on the planet (in terms of standard of living) aren't diverse from a skin-color perspective (which I'm assuming that's what you mean by lack of "diversity.") The likes of Norway, Finland, Switzerland, and Denmark are amongst the highest ranked in the world, yet they're predominately white. Now, that's not to say they're great countries BECAUSE they're predominately white, I'm merely pointing out the fact that despite being predominately white, they still thrive as countries. Cultural diversity is not required for a society to prosper. More to the point, not all white people share the same culture. Hell, I'd say intellectual diversity is far more important, but I digress.

Lived in New Hampshire for 3 years. Never met a swinger. Winter is way too cold. Don't move there. My car door froze shut. People leave cars running while shopping at grocery stores so that the car is warm when they return.

And I don’t remember the last time we had 8 feet of snow winters here are hit or miss lately they have been on the mild end. Opioids are a problem but if your not in that scene you don’t notice it and there doing a great job of battle the epidemic.all in all I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else crime rates are low and my family is safe I would say that’s a great thing !!!

My aunt lived here at New Hampshire for like, 28-30 years and she didn't die, she lived, and now it's my 4th or 5th year living here

New Hampshire is extremely popular with ski buffs and vacationers. The mountains and lakes are beautiful. Great theme park and two smaller ones "Santa's Village" and "Story Land". Also 2 great water parks. Great state to vacation in. There are a couple of boring parts of the state. The toll roads are a bit of a pain as well. Certain areas of the state have what's called a "view tax" for homes in the more scenic areas.

Swing state sounds like it should be the #1 reason to move there

Never once met a swinger. My family is huge and I know a lot of people in New Hampshire. Also New Hampshire is the perfect blend of country and “city” concord Manchester North Conway. These all have malls clubs restaurants. Very fun.

As one who lives in NH, this was pretty fair. Especially the opioid problem. As far as snow, you get used to it pretty quick. We can get 6 inches of snow and it's just a 2 hour school delay.

What a dolt. And the property taxes... If you lived here and bothered to learn how NH government works, you would understand how towns are self funding. Your money stays local.

Hey Briggs! I've watched a bunch if these waiting for my home state (NH) to pop up and here it is! I've lived in Rockingham County all my life and I love it here!! I'm not surprised you had a hard time, so to speak, with this list. I have to say also that I guessed at least 5 of these off the top of my head. As always, good job and keep up the good work!

Check out all the nightlife in Portsmouth or Manchester. See the diversity we don't have. I'd honestly like to show you around and then do another top 10 list for our little state. Cheers my friend.

I live in NH and honestly, I have NEVER heard of lots of swingers here. I’m not saying there isn’t any, but I HIGHLY doubt we have such a high volume of them. You definitely don’t need to share your partner to hangout with someone. This is just ridiculous.

Yes, please don't move to New Hampshire. Stay far, far away. People from Massachusetts move up here because they love the "small town vibe" then they pay $300 K for a two bedroom house, drive up property taxes, f up the roads because they can't drive in more than one inch of snow, and look down on the "natives".

Lack of diversity is exactly what keeps NH in the running for safest state in the country. I live in southern NH and have been here my whole life. It's not perfect but I rarely lock my doors at home and have never suffered a break in or break in attempt. For the most part you are left alone and your personal spaces are respected here... Modern diversity destroys all that makes this country great. Resisting diversity is key in keeping anarchy and lawlessness at bay in New Hampshire.

I grew up in Central New Hampshire...that's ski country, Route 93. It sound like you are mostly referring to Southern NH, Concord, Manchester and Nashua.

I love New Hampshire, besides Seabrook or Manchester.

I've been living in the US for 25 years, originally from Eastern Europe. I am yet to find a place in this country which is diverse and at the same time safe and clean with healthy real estate market and good school district. I'll keep looking.

Diversity is not a good thing most of the time. Yeah, less of it makes a place more boring, but a lot safer and peaceful.

Then talks about the south which if you look at Mississippi it's ethnic composition is 37.2% African American or if you look at Texas which is 33.2% Mexican where as the largest ethnic group in New Hampshire is Irish at 21.5% oh wait I forgot diversity is only about the skin color you have and not where you originally came from in which New Hampshire is the 4th whitest state behind Maine that you already covered.

I live in LA. One of the best people I’ve ever met was my neighbor ,who, moved here from NH. The only detractor, said in this video,I heard from him was the opioid problem in NH.

When it comes to nightlife, it really depends where you are. Places like Dover and Portsmouth both have a good amount of bars and restaurants, but places up in the northern part are a lot more boring.

The opioid crisis here in NH has been really bad. Especially in the southern part of the state. Its almost to the point where most people living here can tell you that they have in one way or another been affected by it. I personally have lost friends in the last few years due to it.

I lived in Berlin for almost 4 years, I can't believe he didn't touch on any of the low hanging fruit about the silliness of the "North Country" (What locals call the north part of the state for those of you who haven't been here) There's lots of odd things to talk about. Like business owners who don't even follow their own store hours. When they feel like closing for a couple days, they just do with no notice. This even extends to grocery stores like IGAs. The homeless vermin that Nashua and Concord bus up north with a one way ticket. The towns who are just a bump in the road, yet they very badly want to differentiate themselves from other parts of he town. Like Conway, Center Conway or North Conway or Ossipee or Center Ossipee LOL. Like calling snowmobiles "snow machines" or sprinkles (on ice cream) "jimmies". Like locking the post office on the weekends. If you want access to your P.O. Box on the weekend to check your mail....sorry bud. Not accessible from 5pm Friday to 7am Monday. Live with it. (This, I believe is intended to keep the homeless from sleeping in the post office locations in the frigid winters.) The towns up north that don't plow the roads until they actually become impassable. They don't do it like other states. You'd have to live there to understand. They just dump salt on top of the 8-14" of snow and slush. No plowing for you! The home heating oil monopoly. Yes oil heat for homes straight out of the 1800s because its too costly to run natural gas lines due to the granite. Propane heat isn't popular either. Home heating oil can seriously run an additional $500+ a month in the winter months. I'm not lying. The home heating furnaces are one of the least efficient systems out there. Very messy and costly. But still, all-in-all I'd live there again. It was a great experience and good people!

I don't understand why people bring the food topic when they speak about diversity, the best sushi you'd probably ever tasted it's not from an oriental coming to your town using "local" frozen products, you go to Japan and you taste it there, the same thing with other kind of food, please stop this bs about food. About diversity of thinking you'll find diversity in your own community, you don't need to bring a massive Cuban immigration to understand communism, besides there isn't a perfect place, it's about how comfortable do you feel in that place, if you don't like it, move out, you're not a tree. I really appreciate how this guy points out how SOME PEOPLE might find inconvenient some stuff in that place and doesn't make it a universal rule for all the people in the world, great vid, keep it up!!

Ha! I see that this video came out just as I was moving to NH to start a program at Dartmouth College (shown in the opening moments). It's nice to see that my current university didn't make the list (unlike my alma mater in the Arizona video).

Yes, please take this list seriously and don't move here! We have an amazing, gorgeous state and don't need anyone here that won't appreciate it. Just to add: the swinger thing is completely inaccurate, i have never met anyone with a gambling problem, and in some parts of the state the property tax isn't bad. I don't care for the lack of diversity personally but it is what it is. I've lived here my whole life and there is so much to be grateful for. So much in fact that every vacation area is full of out of staters trying to get away from their lives for a weekend, week or summer. They know where it's at!

I like how you don’t even back up number 3 with facts. We’re suppose to just nod our head and say, “yep diversity is a strength.” Is diversity a strength in London? What about Paris? New York? Now look back 50 years ago in all of those cities and tell me that it’s improved. I challenge anyone here to look up any western city they can think of, compare the diverse demographics to the homogeneous demographics decades ago, and tell me which one causes more crime. Also you know what country is really homogenous and has next to zero issues, Japan. Another great homogeneous country with zero problems is Iceland. Do us all a favor and look up how Race and IQ have a profound affect on crime and unemployment in a society. You might learn something

Okay.. I enjoyed other videos by this youtuber.. I have lived in NH for a long while.. I think this list is a little askew.. NH is at the top of many lists for a reason. But there are problems. Here are some. The opioid crisis is probably a temporary one-this video is 2018.. The property taxes are high. Some locals here do not like visitors("out-of-staters", a special word for folks from Mass). With that said, NH is a vacation state(like Florida, California) and it serves vacationers as a part of the economy, so they put up with it. Nightlife, it depends on where you go but usually it is pubs, etc. which are active in the cities and they are usually packed. For Dancing in a large club, you have to go to Boston (only 1 hr away). NH is colder during winter just like the rest of New England. That is the primary reason why there is not much "diversity" it is also a state of tiny population but you do see "diversity" in Manchester and Nashua. Massachusetts is really the only truly "diverse" state in New England, maybe Connecticut also. Politics is important here. NH use to be a Republican state(the party was founded here) but because of all the people who moved from Mass, RI, Conn, and NY, it is now more of a Democratic state. But the largest voting block are still the independents and non-party voters. Enough said here other than, I don't get the "swinger" thing. Not heard of it nor seen it. It might have been a 70's thing.

I lived in the Kittery, Maine area (just across the river from Portsmith, NH) for 3-years. My home was Kentucky, personally, I think you could mention the cold one extra time b/c its not just how the cold impacts the cost of living, it is the kind of cold where you have to buy a new type of wardrobe. NH has terrific bumper-stickers! Honestly, I loved them! My favorite said: Welcome to New Hampshire! Now go home. The area was great; my family loved the people we met; and it was cold.

I agree with all of this. We are very boring, we dont do anything, most of our swingers (sex related) are young adults or teens, the talk of politics is outrageous, and it's so hard to live a life here.
