Currently in Sydney (25 years), thinking of living in the tropics. Whats your experience with 1. Local crime, youth crime, safety, security etc 2. Dangerous creatures (non-human kind)...snakes, spiders etc.
Hey mate, sorry for my late reply. I have lived in Sydney too (Mascot and Blacktown). Cairns is relatively safe to Sydney. There are no gangwars, shooting or major crime. Yes, there is petty theft etc but that is in every town in the world! I personally have only seen a couple of snakes but its not like the streets are full of them. My backyard is huge, and touchwood, never seen a single snake or spider. There are beautiful spots to visit and some cool bars too. Public transport is kinda shit so having your own car would be very handy! The only catch with Cairns is that it is difficult to find professional jobs, unlike Sydney. Oh and mind you, the housing market is pretty tight atm. Had I not ventured into mining, I wouldn't have come back to Cairns! I hope this answers your questions :)
Have lived in Cairns for a few years in 90's. Great scenery but humidity kills you. Stingers at beach can kill you too. And the crocodiles. Paradise has its downsides.
I think you’ve forgotten about CYCLONES … that’s why real estate is 2-3 times more expensive on the Gold Coast. Lower humidity, no stingers and no crocodiles.
@@YNOTVLOG it’s a great place to live and got plenty to do. You can add me on Insta if you like and I’m happy to introduce you to some people I know :)
Hey mate, There are plenty of casual jobs around. This is peak backpackers season so it might take a while to find a job but it sure is a good place to live once you secure a job :)
