Good job John. Crosman does make a reliable nice shooting lightweight pistol. I wish they would offer a deluxe/ultimate model with an aluminum or steel breach off the shelf. It would make everyone's life better. Plus they need to come up with a better standard rear sight. What they offer I know for the price just is not good. Thanks for your hard work.
I have 1322 and 1377 American Classics. You forgot to mention number #11 when using these pumpers they will give your hands and forearms a workout to boot!
Had one since the early 80s. Still works like new. My only problem with it is noise. Its got a pretty good pop especially if your in backyard USA and don't have the luxury of land
I've done a video or two on mine and I love it! Just popped a bushytail on my porch the other day for chewing on everything in sight! The Buck-Rail suppressors for these are awesome, my neighbors haven't a clue!
All good reasons. I have a fully modded 1377, 1322, and 2289 Backpacker which is just a 1322 with a removable butt stock. I also have all the co2 ones as well. It cost about $350 per gun to fully customize them, but that was 10 years ago. They didn't have Buck rail back then either, which has a lot of cool new mods.
I have both of these guns. I have had the 1377 for over 20 years and the 1322 for at least 15. They have both lasted for so long, I am amazed. I had the Crossman 2200 (a variable pump rifle) and it burned out in under 10 years. To be fair, I shot it quite a bit. Genre generally refers to a category of artistic composition like music or literature. Great Video, thanks.
Another great quality is the gun is setup perfectly for long-range math systems with iron sights. About 12"sight radius relative to the height of the front sight is perfect for MOA and/or mil calcs for distances to ~80 yds. or so...and even more fun when you calc and apply windage as well.
Great video. An articulate and intelligently presented list of reasons for ownership of a Crosman pistol. The only thing I did not like or understand is the mindset that allows dispatching of small animals. I believe that is wrong. That aside, it was an excellent presentation and I'm getting myself one of these great pistols.
I’ve always avoided the 13XX for the following reasons: - I don’t like the design; they just look odd to me - Single shot? Yuck! - Multi-pump. CO2 is so much more convenient - Various other petty reasons I had pretty much decided on a 2240 for backyard plinking and ratting. Add an aftermarket magazine and it looks like a solid option. Unfortunately for the 2240 I stumbled upon some of your videos. Frankly, your enthusiasm convinced me to try a 13XX. I found a 1377 locally well under MSRP (yay for Canadian Tire!) so now I own one. It even came in an old school cardboard box. I still think it looks kind of goofy, but the rest of my points above are invalid. It also just “feels right” to hold; I’m not sure how else to explain it. In summary (and as far as my wife knows), me buying a 1377 is your fault. Guess what, when I buy a 1322, it’s also going to be your fault 😂
I can vouch for the validity of all 10 points you presented, Wingman. Enjoyed the video and my 2 pooches and I are headed for the woods now. Have a good, safe day out in the wild West!
Good video and decent summary of the pros and cons of the Crosman 1377. I really like the customisation options of the platform. Thank you for highlighting this.
I own both. Modding them is so addictive. I've probably got $1000 in them between the two, no regrets. I've taken squirrel, rabbits, pest birds, rats, etc. I even use them to dispatch big fish before gutting.
I like your enthusiasm. I also have extensive gun knowledge and wisdom ,which led me to choose a 1377 22 cal You might enjoy my u tube stuff but my fb is really deep
John, thank you so much for your excellent airgun reviews. Thanks to you I have been able multiple times to make up my mind on which gun to buy. I have (amongst other airguns) bought the Crosman 1322 and I think it is a great pneumatic pistol. It is a good platform for pestcontrol, like rathunting in and around the barn when legally allowed. I believe it is also a good survival/ prepper weapon, would you agree? Kind regrards, Richard Mulder The Netherlands
Question: I have had my 1377 for 30 over years. It will no longer pump up, can this be repaired? If so please give me any information you might have so I can pursue it. Or, should I just buy a new one? Great video, thank you for your information.
Nice review. I had one of these probably 30 years ago and loved it. My old one shot both pellets and bbs. Does the 1377 still accept both ammo types? Thanks!
Bravo, an excellent, interesting, insightful review video! I have a few questions for all experienced, knowledgeable users of these Crossman 1322/1377 pump pistols. How would this 22-caliber pump air pistol versus the 177 caliber version do for small varmint control, like rats or chipmunks? What is the largest sized varmint that you feel could be quickly dispatched with either the 22 or 177 versions? Which one, the 22 or 177 caliber, would you choose for such a task? What projectiles would you recommend for the maximum power effects on varmints? Thanks for your responses!
@Wingman115 I'm thinking maybe with a power upgrade? If there is such? One You Tuber Canadian takes Ruffled Grouse with a standard Crosman1322. Which pellets do you feel are the most effective on small animals? I appreciate the insightful, truthful answers. Safe Adventures and Journeys. Thank You!
Do they make (essentially) this in a 22cal PCP? I'm really interested, but I sorta want to get a magazine-feed and PCP (filled with bike pump or similar), even if I have to pay a little more.
I own both of those the 22 .177 the 1377 I'm still searching for the 1377 a longer barrel have any ideas maybe off another Crosman rifle barrel will fit thanks.
I'm from the UK and own a "Webely+Scot FX 2000" its power is the max allowed in the UK which is 12 feet Per pound' (12fb not 12fps) For a pistol I think our legal limit is 7fb. Anything more require a fire arms certificate. Can you tell what (if any) is the legal limit on both air rifile and Pistol in the USA without needing a permit/licence'? And is what the prefered power for small game rabbits squirrels ect' that you like to use?
@@Wingman115 I also got a Diana 52' 22 rifle, it's a single shot side lever spring action. It fires at 18lb ,6lb over the limit. Beautiful rifle but really heavy! I had it about 20 years ago, apart from the weight and its difficulty in inserting the pellet its a beautiful crafted rifle and the power is perfect for dispatching small game.
I have to let mine go. I need quick follow up shots in the dark protecting my home from raccoons. The only clip I see available, is not easy enough for dark night and shooting a charging raccoon.
A charging raccoon? That's too funny! Just get a second 1322 . That gives you two quick, powerful shots. All there is in a fast firing pistol is CO2 guns and they are not really powerful enough for raccoons.
