I noticed that when Don Krieg makes his brief appearance in this series the body of one of his top men Pearl is seen lying on the ground behind him.

The amount of detail, care, and nods to the source material really helped us long time fans be okay with most of the changes and omissions. It was at least very clear the producers and writers were respectful and sympathetic to Oda's original creation.

After I watched the season I rewatched it catching a lot of references, & I am still seeing so much more like: - During though out the season you can see the Straw Hats wearing some outfits based on the ones from the chapter color spreads (plus twice we can see the Criminal fashion brand) & also various drinks that have been in the series - You can see a poster of a missing lion in Buggy’s tent being a reference to Richie & next to it is an image of Buggy & his crew from the manga - In Usopp’s flashback you can see a poster that mentions Victoria Cindry who died on stage & next to it was one that mentioning Tom, but then preset date you can see next to Buggy’s wanted poster there is a flyer mentioning war on Broc Coli island & another mentioning a carpenter being a reference to Pepper of the Usopp Pirates - Kaya’s garden there are topiaries shaped like one in is a reference to Lionbuta (pig lion) from the Island of Rare Animals & also a taxidermy animal that remind me of Cocox (rooster Fox) - Inside of Kaya’s mansion there is a painting of the Oro Jackson & images of Sea Beasts on the ceiling of the foyer - Nami is reading “Noland the Lair” to the unconscious Zoro which if you look at a page in the book you can spot Pandaman - In Arlong Park on the Ghost Train sign it’s a reference to the Sea Train but we can also see a cameo of the zombie tree MocDonald while at the bar you can see tiki heads which are based off 2 characters that maybe being Ace & Spector (Mock Town Hotel owner) - On Usopp’s ketchup bottle it says “Boshi” which means Star - In the Baratie kitchen has many references to the species in the series like the Elephant Blue Fin Tuna

When One Piece Live Action Season 2 comes, I hope the episodes are extended from 8 to 10.

I think Baratie's receptionist is a reference to Oda, Oda always draw himself as a man with a fish for a head, if you remove the receptionist's body, basically the head is a fish.

I loved that they obscured Roger's bounty as to not give away just how high those things can get lol. This was such a labor of love, it was a message to the fans like "trust us".

Some you missed: - During Mihawk’s introduction when it pans to Don Kreig, you can see his subordinate Pearl lying dead on the ground next to him. - One sleuthy fan caught a poster depicting Victoria Cindry, a famous actress in the One Piece world who had an untimely death & whose corpse was made into the zombie assistant of Dr. Hogback in Thriller Bark. - Arlong name dropping Jinbe. - Luffy hearing the Merry when he first sees it could be a reference to 1 of 2 things: the Klaubaterman (a spirit of a ship that was respected by its crew) or the Voice of All Things (an extremely rare ability that allows whoever has it to listen to voices from animals & inanimate objects, an ability that Luffy, Roger, & a few others possess). - Some of the outfits the Straw Hats wear are based not only on outfits they’ve worn in the arcs that the episodes are based on but also outfits worn by them in color spreads in the manga as well as early concept art like Nami’s intro outfit being based on her early concept design where she originally had a metal arm.

people seem to forget that oda was heavily involved in the creation of the netflix show. hence things like mr7, sixis and other references might be because of his influence

One thing I noticed when a buddy of mine and I binged the entire thing was in the last scene with Buggy and Alvida. One of the obscured shots hanging on the wall behind buggy and super blurry due to the depth-of-field effect is something that to me looked like a wanted poster. I can't be entirely certain due to said blurriness and obscured positioning, but I noticed jagged red hair. I personally believe this to be a wanted poster for Eustace "Captain" Kidd. Another similarly obscured wanted poster behind Alvida (this one had the 'Wanted' label clearly visible, at least) was one for someone with silvery white hair. And although I couldn't figure out whose poster it was at the time, I'm starting to wonder if it was one for Rayleigh, Rogers' first mate.

For me sixis island made m jump since I read the novels and zoro and Mr.7 was handled so well.

There are also references to Oda sensei’s previous works as you can also see the bounty poster of DR one of the antagonists thar Ryuma the Samurai (who was also one of the Zombie Generals of Gecko Moria in Thriller Bark) faces in the short story “Monsters”.

The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is actually in this video. 6:28 Captain Morgan’s Vault has dials on it that resemble the World Government Logo.

I hope they go as far as they can, would love to see how the do Jinbe and more of the fishmen, I also want to know how they are going to pull off Alveda when she gets her devil fruit, if they go along with her getting the smoothening fruit or if they will give her a different power. either way I can't wait to see stuff about s2.

That's not Momoo from the Arlong arc, that's a Sea King shown when the Straw Hats tried to cross the Calm Belt.

I am a big fan of the manga and the anime (yes, I named my daughter Robin because of you know…Nico Robin), I was so worry that they are going to ruin it, but as a fan, I approve this series. The spirit and the atmosphere is on point. 👍🏻💙

Some of the more obscure easter eggs are food items. Even more specific, the dishes seen in the spin-off manga Shokugeki no Sanji. And yes, that series was made by Food Wars creators Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki.

It’s amazing how precise this new series is, when it comes to atmosphere and references, it’s really good! Only two pretty important things I miss, which isnt there (and I wonder why?). It’s Usopp’s long nose and Sanji’s extreme love for women, all from the start - especially Nami, it was so much fun and a part of Sanji’s personality and the long nose is a part of how we know Usopp and his story with his mom

damn buggys theme ... they outdid themselves with that one. even that short snipped of the theme you had in this video is enough to make me feel something. a feeling i cant even really describe.

I recently told a friend at work about this series and encouraged him to watch it. I hope he does.

All changes from the anime aside, it's cool that they portrait the live action in another way. Though I'm kind of disappointed when they down played the most epic moment of East Blue arc "Walk to Arlong Park".

ATLA and Percy Jackson tv series can succeed and maybe live action DB as this series shows that collaboration with writers of source material is main key alongside proper casting

I remember seeing at the end of last episode, we see Smoker burning Luffy's wanted poster with a cigar. Even though we don't see Smoker's face, it's obvious that's him.

Luffy's outfit when he fights Kuro in Kaya's mansion is almost similar to the outfit that he wears on Dressrosa arc later when he fights Doflamingo

You missed the Funkyball Island reference in episode 3, mentioned by Zoro when he first recognised Kuro. It was taken from One piece Side story and animation shorts 'Jango's Dance Carnival' produced in 2001

When the live action, one piece, season two comes out. I really do think that some of the characters we didn’t see in season one will be in season two will be so awesome.p.s if it was a Restaurant like the bratty, I would love to eat there 😊
