I think Luffy feeling like he can hear the Merry speaking to him is definitely a reference to the Merry's spirit, but ALSO it's showing that Luffy can hear the Voice Of All Things.
I think it just Klabauterman, like in the original, but the difference in here is that the Klabautermen born much earlier by the love Usopp give to the ship for the sake of Kaya started much earlier by becoming a worker in the shipyard and take barnacles off and stuff, while in the Original the Klabautermen born mid adventure.
Nope, it was the Klaubauster whatever, but he actually can listen to the Voice of all Things, while entering Fishman Island he hears the Sea Kings voices but he doesn't has it very advanced and his head started to ache
@@MonkasParata for Klabauterman, I'm wonder how Sunny's Klabauterman looks like and its ability. Merry just a normal merchant ship but its spirit can appeared and repaired the ship, meanwhile Sunny is a reconstruction of Uranus.
That bounty poster gag was probably one of my favorite things about this anime. I've never seen that done before, and it was great watching each one destroy theirs in their own unique manner.
The one thing i realized about the "Binks Sake" song playing in the background of Luffy's flashback. Is that in the anime, when Brook was playing the song, someone said that it was a famous pirate song, and Luffy actually said that Shanks would play this song all the time when he was a kid.
Brook's gang actually sailed to the sea sooner than even Roger, its may explained that. And they are also one of the first to enter Grand Line for One Piece.
Honestly I think more fans were relieved rather than disappointed that Usopp didn’t have a long nose. It would’ve looked weird and cosplay-y in live action. They made the right call
Rigging it would have been a nightmare. And any prosthetic over a nose needs to have room for it to move. Buggy and arlong work because their real nose isn't hampered. To balance something as delicate as Usopps nose on the very tip would also require the actor to avoid any amount of nasal movement, lest the thing move and being a nasty distraction. It absolutely was the right choice to ignore it.
I liked when Garp explains to Koby why he is not a fleet admiral whereas he could be, we can imagine that he is talking about direct subordination with the celestial dragons
- At the very start of the series on the map we can see Momoo, a Sea king, a bird that looks like the South Bird, & Tequila Wolf - During this series you can see 2 people wear the Criminal fashion brand - The barrel that Luffy gets into & the Straw Hats use when stating there dreams has the logo of Gyrou a fishmonger from Windmill Village & can maybe see him along with his wife Chicken next to Woop Slap - Since mentioning Richie there was a poster of a missing lion along with next to it images from the manga of Buggy & his crew - There is another reference to the Usopp pirates at least Pepper when they got to Syrup Village when looking a Buggy’s poster you can see a flyer for a carpenter which was what he wanted to be - Kaya’s Garden you can see a bush is the shape of Lionbuta one or the animals that Gaimon is with - Kaya’s mansion also has a painting of the Oro Jackson & Sea Beasts - Once in the Baratie the painting references Gaimon on the Island of Rare Animals, Sabaody, a Giant King Squid, a Sea Beasts from Fishman Island, Foolshout Island (Koala’s birthplace), & Kyuka Island - Arlong Park has signs with one that says Ghost Train has a cameo of MocDonald - Though out the series various bottles & barrels references drinks that we see in the series, but more interestingly in Food Foo you can see a barrel that says “Mikio Itoo” - 77th Branch which is lead by Pudding Pudding was mentioned twice
-The end credit maps are made by order of Kong and show a manga accurate image of him. -Koby mentions his type of justice is honest, referencing his move Honest Impact.
@@HeraclesN-fp1bw His mention of Kong is only for Kumate Island, the other part is on the crest thing at the top left of the map stating its a 'Map of The East Blue, Created for The Marines of The East Blue, By the Orders of Commander-in-Chief Kong' at its top is a World Government crest, at its bottom is the Marine crest with Kongs picture in the middle of it.
I think 12:15 is because of the chocolate riceballs zoro eats from the floor. In anime/manga they have been regular rice balls but the girl used sugar instead of salt to cook them.
With these amount of references, I wouldn't put it past Oda to have slipped something crazy well hidden in the live action, like Laugh Tale's location or something like that.
Actually Laugh Tale does not appeared on any maps, it was hypothesized and found by Oden. If the show reached to Wano I guess it should shown a bunch of Oden's calculation to pinpoint its location.
It's really sad that we lost some of the backstories for characters like ChouChou and the Usopp Pirates, but I think it makes a lot of sense. Having animals and kids participate in fights to the death is somewhat passable in anime and manga, but it definitely would be hard to market and stream it in live action on a lot of countries. Same with things like blood, that has been toned down quite a lot, or Jango's hypnosis (is actually somewhat illegal to show in TV in some countries). Really fun video to watch! 🙌
the only issue is just the fact that a decent child actors are bloody expensive and too many regulation and hassles to go through than what its worth, and that is on top of whole rarity ordeal of it, child actors as always been a wild card, and that's why even though they should go for younger Kuina and Zoro, they have to settle and happy with teen actors. Same goes with CGI, could afford one good looking Sea Beast but that's all their budget could afford sadly.
That is, you can show how Zoro cuts a person into 2 parts, but you can't show hypnosis? I think these characters were removed because of the new storyline where Garp chases Luffy. Because of her, the fight with Arlong is so dull, Sanji and Usopp are not disclosed, and in general the plot is crumpled)
@@СергейСмыченко-з6й literally yes. Some countries are like that. Hyper violence is fine in many countries where even breastfeeding without seeing much is not. And hypnosis is one of those things where countries will block the whole show outright. Likewise, how they'd handle Ivan is going to be interesting because he is a gender bending drag queen who can gender bend others, uses needles, is the queen of 'new queerland' in a prison and is the emperor of 'stupidqueer island'. If you think live action Ivan is going to be shown as is in all countries? Ha. No. And I say this as a queer person who found out recently that even a few notes of the careless whisper sax solo will get your video banned in Russia. Banned. Over a song written by a gay man that often gets used for straight characters! Getting rid of Jango was absolutely a good choice too because the Kuro fight gets dragged out to heck by Luffy getting hypnotized multiple times and doing budget breaking things like throwing a whole ship around. I like him too. But he was a good character to cut.
I think Zoro stuck in the well scene also refer to certain scene in Syrup Village arc where Zoro have to climb slippery oiled slope which meant to be used to prevent Black Cat Pirates to enter the village (unfortunately they thrown the oil at the wrong side of the island).
In the scene where Zeff is putting Luffy's bounty poster under Employee of the Month, you can also see a recipe for Oregano Aged Wild Boar on the board. Savages!
One thing you missed is Luffy actually paid with a 'treasure coupon' in the Baratie, like he did in the post Marineford flashback with Ace and Sabo Also, I liked how Zeff put his bounty poster on the wall, calling him the employee of the month
The fact they removed hatchan actually bugs me, what are they going to do in years to come when they go to fishman island and hatchan isn't there with the starfish dude to guide them around? If I'm remembering correctly he's the one who gets shot by the celestial dragon and makes luffy go punch him, that was a HUGE moment in one piece. Hatchan is a must, I want my octopus man back 😂.
I mean, they could still add in Hatchan via a flashback. 'Hatchi?' 'NAMI?' 'I thought Arlong unalived you' 'NAMI YOU ARE OKAY' and introduce Hatchin as a Fishman who was kind to her and when Arlong found out, beat him up or left him for d*** (I hate yiuthbe autocensoring comments). It's as easy as that and also explain why Hatchin went into being a total non combatant in Sabody.
I mean it would a extremely easy and simple fix (with some original flashbacks or something) when you compare to the bs 4kids managed to pull with their insane changes
did anyone see Zoro casually getting lost in the marine ax hand morgens base, its blurry and I could be wrong, but right after Nami convinces morgen to leave Luffy talks to Nami about being a good team and Zoro walks by the door way in the background. He also almost walks by the room Nami and Luffy were getting changed in in Kayas mansion but stops and walks in.
the jolly rogers of the other strawhats are in fact in the anime, you can see them in the intermission cards that appeared in the pre timeskip era and often the jolly rogers references which character this specific episode is focused on
I only watched about two and a bit hours of the anime, no idea about the manga (did not even realize it existed) and I'm definitely not a weeb, but this is the first show EVER in my life where I know more than three of the actors real names without hesitation hours after finishing the show, even though I have never heard of them before. It genuinely speaks to the power of casting for this show. The strawhats need to be extremely likeable characters, but they just cast the most likeable people in the world and instantly make us fall in love with the show. I finally understand the charm of the anime and I will be making an effort to finish it.
I love this response! One Piece is soo intricately beautiful and there are many more likeable characters and stories to be enjoyed so I hope you keep at it
There are 2 I noticed that the Gold Roger bounty poster has a cut mark near the l and the D separate into Gol D Roger, hinting at the will of D. And 2nd one is from garp conversation with Coby about honesty stuff, probably hinting the development for coby in the future event that lead him to develop Honesty Impact.
Another little Easter egg, in the anime when Don Krieg is attacking Baratie, and talks about his encounter with Mihawk, Zeff says, "Maybe you disturbed his nap." In the live action, when Mihawk is introduced, attacking Krieg's fleet, he remarks, "You interrupted my nap." If I recall correctly
One thing I found interesting was the fact Kuina’s father Koushirou didn’t say she was dead. Instead he says she is gone. The way he seemed to fight to tell Zorro this, almost like he was fighting to not tell the truth. The way This scene went down could lend credence to the theory that she is still alive and was taken by the government and is actually Tashigi with amnesia.
Yeah, I didn't fully believe she ever died...until we saw the body later in the Manga...but even so I still do not believe it and absolutely believe Tashigi is Kuina. Ie, she knew that she'd never be a good as zoro believed she would so she went to the Marines, giving her father permission to mislead zoro and give him wado ichimonji so that he could truly uphold the promise on behalf of them both. She never reveals this to zoro, even though she tries to get him to avoid his cursed sword because she doesn't want him to get hurt. And zoro, being dense simply thinks 'kuina didn't wear glasses so I guess not'.
@@DembaiVT this theory makes no sense and would be a terrible retcon, something that's all too popular in american shows these days, i know you guys want to see the cute love interest alive again but it's done, one piece is not a love story and explores pretty dark themes, she died! She clearly had no idea who zoro was in longue town, how the hell would she have made this elaborate plan and not remember someone like zoro who carries her katana and kept the same green hair for years.
The fact that they introduced Noland the Liar this early makes me at the same time both excited that they are setting up some big future events this early, and worried that they might cut most of Jaya, if not all of it. An arc that's very underaprieciated in my opinion. Jaya's actually one of my favorites.
When luffy eats the 'gomu gomu no mi' the camera pans so that the sun is right behind him, this is just silly speculation but it could be subtle teasing by the director bc we all know that its actually the sun god fruit
Actually anytime that Luffy talks about someone's dreams there's always either the sun or its rays in the scene. Also, when Zoro wakes up, sun beams are in the room as well. There is a LOT of reference to the sun with Luffy. So much so I even wondered if Luffy just...fixed Zoro with his own imagination. Like zoro is still zoro, Nika would never impose Zoro to be anything other than free to go after his dream, but that the Nika fruit helped him wake up *because* Zoro wanted to keep going and Luffy wanted it so badly as well. 'You were lucky, don't get used to it' made me laugh because at multiple points before I found out about the Nika Fruit, I remember remarking that something was terribly wrong with probability in the One Piece world, where Luffys crew has godluck and anyone they face has bad luck.
I think Luffy said "He really like rice-balls" not as a reference to Zoro's attack but because of what happened when Luffy first found Zoro at the marine base and a girl made rice-balls for him and even though Helmeppo stepped on them Zoro ate them. Of course, in the anime Zoro was forced to eat them because of his hunger, but in the live action, he was in a bar, not hungry and still ate them.
To be honest, I do think Crocodile was a woman before Ivankov possibly changed him to the Crocodile we know today,... however I don't think Crocodile, the woman, is Luffy's mother. Maybe a woman who does respect Dragon and possibly used to be a revolutionary before becoming a pirate.
@@bruhbruh9895 I don't get why you think I'm fake fan. I hope Crocodile wasn't changed by Ivankov. I hope his secret is something cooler. It's just that the CrocoMom theory has gotten so big it might be what Oda is leading to, even if some of us don't want it.
you also forgot that in the scene when buggy and alvida meet, you can actually see smokers face on a bounty poster i think. idk why it is on a bounty poster but pretty cool
If ur talking about the one behind Alvida i think that's actually supposed to reference Don Krieg's original bounty poster in the manga/anime where his hair is longer since the official one they used in the live action only used his classic bandaged up look from the Baratie arc i guess so fans could recognize him since he just gets killed off immediately in this version😂
I don't know what you mean. If you mean the poster that is visible at the top above alvida when the camera is directed at her, that is Don Kriegs Bounty. This one was a direct copy from the Manga/Anime just in IRL.
The rice balls line as favorite food could also reference the girl in the manga who gave zoro food (rice balls) to eat when he was in the yard tied up.
Speaking of Noland, I like to think that Usopp read or heard the story of the Noland the lair when he was younger, and he would use some of inspirations from Noland's "lies" for his stories and would tweak it a little and would tell them to Kaya and his friends.
Hearing somebody actually mention Sanji’s Non Swirly/Curly Eyebrows made me feel validated FINALLY! It bothered me so much from the moment I seen Sanji. It’s a Main character Trait of Sanji and his Siblings
It could still show up later or even over time. After all we know now that Germas tech is in Sanji and has been slowly manifesting over time, up to an including making his eyebrow completely reverse to match his siblings on Wano, and switch back after. A minor retcon could have his eyebrow curl during combat atsome point, and have him promptly shave it off so it's not so obvious to people who know his family. There's still opportunity for it to show.
@@DembaiVT I could actually be okay with those ideas! And Possibly making the lack of curl in his eyebrows another reason why judge hated him and his siblings bullied him during his childhood. 🤷🏽♀️
Oh dang I just realized that smoker now knows how luffy looks! Cause in anime we had that hilarious scene of smoker asking random pirates while catching them if they are straw hat luffy and then we even get luffy asking smoker for directions of execution platform 😭
Also! when zoro had given that number 1 line with his middle finger when talking to Mr. 7 about a free face tattoo, my mind went to how he actually faces Mr. 1 in the end which earned him his first bounty poster lol his face on a wanted poster lmao
The live action made me start rewatching one piece. And while watching I realized I basically watched the live action as a casual even tho I’m fully caught up on the manga cause I forgot everything earlier
I have a theory on why Hachin didn’t appear in the live action. Since Oda originally planned the end the series at the end of the Grand Line, I believe that they would most likely cut out Sabaody and have the One Piece at the Red Line. Anyone else think the same?
I disagree with the rice ball theory. It's actually the one where the little girl offers the riceball to Zoro in episode 1. Other then that loved the video🤘🏻🤘🏻
I fell for clickbait in an epic way. I really thought I hadn't seen the scar on the woman's face in the execution scene. there is no such scar, this clickbait is awesome!
You missed when Nami said “you guys are the worst” hint towards them being the worst generation? Bit of a stretch but that came to mind when I watched the scene
Onigiri is the word for riceball? :D This made my day 🤣🤣😂 Now I have to imagine Zoro screaming "RICEBALL" all the time XD Comedic gold, that went right over my head for a lot of years
I did notice several of the easter eggs in the series. But others completely blew past me. I'll try to look for them again when I see this series again.
I honestly don't know how i figured this out, but i think the reason why Cavendish wanted poster is there is because his birthday is on August 31st, the day the live action came out c: That's just like a theory from me, i might be wrong of course
The fact that Ussop is the First Strawhat to ever speak to Mihawk in the Netflix live adaptation and he does so drunk and shirtless is the funniest thing in the world to me
If that woman ends up being anyone, it’s Moria lmfao. Something attached to the neck, dark makeup, they tried to make her hair tall, etc. They literally tried their best to make the designs a 1 for 1 copy, and yet they couldn’t give Croc his signature scar, the fur on his coat, and his cigar? Lmfao, that’s not Croc people. Wake up.
Not just does the revolutionary army logo appear in the paper, it says they've taken control of Vira a really obscure island that was mentioned a handful of times in early one piece
The reason that they were accurate is that Oda was involved. He was helping throughout the whole project. His one stipulation for making a one piece live action was that it had to be as accurate as possible and that he had a full say in material
I agree lol, I believe Crocodile was a woman before, as stated by Ivankov they have a history lol and crocodile didn't seem too please about him mentioning it
Here’s some things you all missed: Zoro charted a course to Sixis island and knew there was a shrine there that someone obviously maintains. Sixis is supposedly a deserted island. But zoro knew before he went. It’s also very possible we are in oda’s bad reality time line for the straw hats.
The theory if I remember right is that crocodile sought out Ivankov to transition to becoming a man. The way I interpreted the cameo was that's Crocodile before they transitioned with Ivankov's hormone abilities. It all depends on who is cast as Crocodile in season two though.
On the Usopp pirates! Theres a shot of the rest of the straw hats lined up as they follow Usopp to Kaya's house and Luffy's tan hat, Nami's orange hair, and Zoro's green hair sentimentally evoke Onion, Carrot, and Pepper respectively
Don’t know if anyone else posted but when luffy punched a hole in buggy’s stomach and he winks as he reattached was foreshadowing for a later major plot?
They keep this crocomom theory because of crocodile secret but i believe that the secret is that he was a former revolutionary and a fan of Dragon which is why he save luffy in the paramout war when he learn he was Dragon son
At the start when Luffy says he needs about 10 men for the crew and a bird , I feel like this could be a foreshadowing from Oda and we know about the mysterious egg on Gold Rogers ship
Imu is the Goddess of the Earth. She was seen inside a Flower room in Pangaea castle and Pangaea is a word derived from Gaia..Who is a Earth Goddess, with long black hair and Imu is a woman, who wears long black attire and "Mu" means Mother Imu cares for nature just like Gaia. In Skypeia there is stated to be a Earth God.. Gaia was the Wife of the Sky God (Dragon), Mother of The Sun God (Luffy), Sister of the Darkness God (Blackbeard) and is connected to Sea God (Shirahoshi) and the Day God (/i).. Gaia created God Fruits (Devil Fruit).. Im and Imu backwards, translate to Fruit and Sea
You know, when I thought about fans complaining about ussop's nose, and I thought to myself "What about Chopper! And Brook! And Jinbei! Aren't you worried about those designs?!?!"
