Yes, I was wondering the same….you’ve got to be kidding me!😮 How did Pickleman’s get on this list? It’s ok, but, as a rule, never a place I specifically intend to go. I mean, isn’t it a chain?
Hopefully the original Sugarfire is better than the others they tried to make. There was one just across the River in O’Fallon, Illinois and the meat was terrible. Needed sauce to be edible. The sides were GREAT though
How did a chain like Picklemans end up on a list like this? There are dozens and dozens of great places to eat around St. Louis. If these are your actual opinions, you need better opinions. And this isn't to shit on Picklemans, it is fine, but it's like picking Sbarro in NYC. St. Louis has tons of great sandwich places, mostly in the hill, the delis all have fresh bread they either make themselves or get from one of the italian bakeries. Gioia's, Blues City Deli, LeGrands, Vinnies, Adriana's, Eovaldi's, Vivola. There's also tons of bosnian places, notably balkan treat box, there are places like steve's hot dogs, menya rui, amigo joes, macs, stellar hog, corner 17. for fancier places, he missed the mark as well. go to acero, or brasserie by niche, or carmines theres also tons of vegan/vegetarian places that are very popular. st louis has a great food scene, and a chain that mostly serves drunk college kids does not belong on any top 10 list whoever made this list doesnt know st louis at all
Was in St. Louis 2 weeks ago. I went to Sugarfire on Washington near the Convention Center. It was awful. I decided not to try Pappy's on recommendations from friends and locals. I did try Adam's Smokehouse on Walson Rd. It was amazing. Seriously, the very best ribs, beans, and brisket sandwich.
St. Louis local here. In my experience the Sugarfire on Washington is very hit or miss. I always recommend the Sugarfire at Olive and 170, which is the original location, instead. The consistency is much better there.
Bro this list is not great. It's just not one thing that shouldn't be on the list or is too high on there, it's many restaurants. If I only I could see the dislikes I wouldn't have wasted my time. Don't take that personally .
Is this a joke? In The Lou, you will get run out of town for trying to pedal crappy food. Stay out of the city...you know Here are a quick few off the top of my head in no particular order: Rich n Charlie's SugarFire Youngs Dairy (killer Dive) Tuckers Ya Ya's Bistro Sam' Steakhouse Olympia Rosalitas Hacienda The Shack Crown Candy Most Chinese Anything on The Hill (restaurants and deli's)
Thank you. Tucker's is awesome anything on the hill is awesome. And hacienda. thank you for mentioning these restaurants I think this guy didn't know his a@$ from a hole in the ground.
