As a sabres fan it's weird not hearing him not announcing the game.. Keep getting better rick and hopefully you'll be back soon. IMO he's one of the best announcers out there. Idc if the sabres lost 5-1.. That one goal could get the whole city pumped when you hear rick go nuts lol
OH!! I am a HUGE Montreal fan, and for the few remaining Canadian teams left, it is painful to watch Ottawa eliminated from the playoffs, but Rick is BY FAR...THE BEST and most entertaining hockey commentator!!! LOVE IT...He has made hockey what it is in New York State!!!
rick is the greatest announcer this game has ever seen, he knows all the players, never stumbles over their names, and when the times were tough in buffalo, he was the one bright spot to look forward to, him and ray kicking somebodys ass
What a beauty. Peter Maher is also a fantastic hockey call. The excitement of a great hockey announcer is profound because it seems to capture the truest excitement in sport (besides the feeling of actually potting a goal or winning a championship as a close member of a team).
I always envisioned Rick Jeanneret looking like a creepy looking alien-like creature with big long pointy ears and 2 long antennas sticking out of his head. lol
Magical doesn't even begin to describe it, man! I get chills down my spine and a tear in my eye from hearing the calls and goal horns go off. (Especially the May Day, of course)
As an Islanders fan, I used to hate watching Sabre broadbasts with Jeanneret. But after a couple times of watching him, I really started to enjoy it. He brings a level of excitemen and he's hilarious
I don't care what anyone says, Rick Jeanneret is the best. He sincerely loves the game and is a true fan, that's what makes him extra awesome. I wish he was an announcer for my Stars.
These calls are legendary, that's why the guy has his own top 10 on sports centre. This is what all announcing should be like, there needs to be more commentators who actually get into the game as opposed to just sitting there calling it like they're reading it out of a book.
I may not even like Buffalo or the Sabres; however Rick adds so much spice and vitality to the game. If a Buffalo game was on TV I would turn the radio to listen to Rick. Rick is to the Sabres like Johnny Most was to the Celtics...LEGENDS
Heard this guy for the first time last year while staying in Buffalo, and boy did he bring hockey, a sport i never watch, to life for me. Last year was awesome i hope this year we go all the way for RJ LET'S GO BUFFALO
oh mkay. but yeah i remember waking up from a nap at my grams and had NBC hockey on and he was calling the game. after about 2 minutes of listening to him i was big-eyed and wanted some more hockey haha
I'm from Detroit and am a huge Wings fan, but RJ is one of the best ever. He rules. 'CHRIIS DRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY' cracks me up whenever I hear it in a highlight. RJ's one of the true greats.
Love em or hate em, RJ creates excitement! He truly loves the game and that's obvious in how easy it makes him go crazy! Love em! I'm a huge Bruins fan, and man did I hate MAY DAY! MAY DAY! MAY DAY! I saw that game! Heartbreaker for the B's! RJ is not my favorite, but second to Mike Lange who is hilarious if not only for the fact NOTHING he says has to do with hockey! lol. That shit is amazing! My friend and I think he is having beers with friends, and they dare him to say a line, and he does.
R.J. is the best announcer in sports today and is easily the most passionate about what he does and comes up with the best calls much better then the braves i might add

Rick Jeanneret is one of the greatest of all-time. His call of the overtime winners by Plante, Hannan and May, combined with the Sabres' goal horn in the background, were absolutely haunting.
